Further details and clarification of the new system on the Latest Buzz copied here: ENTROPIA UNIVERSE INTRODUCES CITIZENSHIP AND REVENUE SHARING SYSTEM WITH EXPECTED ANNUAL RETURNS OF UP TO 30% Gothenburg, Sweden – November 16, 2011 /MindArk/ – MindArk, developer and publisher of the largest real money MMO, announced today that it will introduce a groundbreaking Citizenship System to Planet Calypso. The new system will provide revenue sharing to participants, and add a political system that will allow players to vote on major decisions affecting their virtual world, all for as little as $100 USD. “Our new Citizenship System will have a strong impact on the social and Virtual Worlds industry”, said Jan Welter Timkrans, Chairman of MindArk. “People have always had the opportunity to make money playing our game and engaging in the micro transactions economy. Now they can actually share in the revenues of their favorite planet with a Land Lot deed and help decide its future via the political system.“ The new system grants users Planet Calypso citizenship and political voting rights. Citizens will also receive a share in the Planet Partner gross revenue of Calypso, paid weekly. Based on Planet Calypso’s performance over the last 12 months, the potential return of investment (ROI) is expected to be between 27% and 30% per year. Each planet in the Entropia Universe is a separate Planet Partner, and the revenue share paid to deed holders will come from the Planet Calypso revenue stream. Sixty thousand land lot deeds offered at $100 USD each are available exclusively through the Entropia Universe global auction and can be acquired by anyone after creating a free avatar. The new Citizenship System will showcase the economics of a successful Planet Partner on the Entropia Universe platform, and allow users to participate in that success. Planet Calypso is the oldest of the planets in Entropia Universe, with over one million registered accounts and over $400 million USD per year in user-to-user transactions. Until now, possessing land in Entropia Universe has been very exclusive, with the market price for land deeds ranging from $5,000 to upwards of $500,000 USD. In the new Citizenship System, just about anyone can share a piece of an entire virtual world. For more information on MindArk or the Citizenship System please visit www.entropiauniverse.com. FAQ Q. No I can not. Calypso is NOT my favorite planet While Arkadia is. And as far as I know, this system is not for Arkadia yet. That is $400 million USD per year in player to player transactions and not revenue. I think the actual revenue is a lot lower than that. Smooth words but you have to read between the lines. And correct me if I am wrong. And thanks for posting this Lee. Regards, Ion
Thanks Lee for posting this information, greatly appreciated. So basically we can only for sure trust that decay on items will be the only revenue so far. The "as well as various other fees and avatar activities" is still not defined so could mean NOTHING, there still is no detail on what exactly is involved in gaining revenue as all deed holders should know in full context before purchase of such items.
Auction fees. But sure, it is weird that they are not publishing the relevant paragraphs from the Planet Partner agreement. Shouldn't be that hard to do.
Ya I see this like buying a weapon with out knowing the recommended level statistic, it may work great or not so great. Just trust that it will work great for now.. If it doesn't well at least you cycled PED into the community you should feel good about it even though it is worthless to you for now.
Whats new in this latest Buzz that we didn't know before? Sure the decay might been a long time ago they confirmed to be part of the payment, but whats really different then the first wall of text? (except they put some things in "question form" this time) and thanks for posting Lee
Surely one of their income streams would have to be the TT? There must be a staggering amount of ped spent buying ammo, probes/bombs etc from the TT over the course of a 12 month period. If this isn't included as an "avatar activity" or "other fees" then I'm at a loss as to what is.
ammo and such from the tt isn't that supposed to be the base where we get our 90% from? and there is another "activity" also can think of ads, shoptaxes etc.. too But again nothing new in this "latest Buzz" same text as in the client loader just in a better location, or?
The TT is simply a conversion machine - nothing actually gets SPENT at the TT, rather value is converted from peds to items or items to peds and there is no fee attached. When someone converts 40 ped into a suit of armour from the TT, they still have 40 ped (as it can be TT'd again). It's not until the item is used (player activity) that earnings occur, hence the decay of the items. In regards to consumables such as probes and ammo it's important to keep in mind that the TT value of everything you loot must come from somewhere - hence the general consensus that ammo and probes are what feed the loot system.
Wonder if the OLA owners' deeds are part of the 60k or additional to this making >60k. If they are part of the 60k then it is not 60k offered for sale on auction
They still offer 60k deeds, they don't say they offer 60k deeds on the auction. Kim said on other forum I think that your share will always be 1/60.000 even if one deed is TTed(if possible), so the LA deeds are part of this 60k for sure as they offer the LA owners one deed the owner is free to sell it if they don't want it.
