I'm thinking about a trip back to Arkadia, having not been there since the first week of release. But I'm not really sure what I would do there so I'm looking for some thoughts on that.

I'm only interested in hunting so the question is mainly about what mobs I should be looking at. I don't expect anyone to be giving away any big secrets but I'm looking to break even or profit here so what I need is markup.

My main problem is that it's hard to gauge what sells well on auction, largely because MA haven't bothered to make market history planet-specific*, so while certain things might look good on paper I don't know what will work on reality.

I use an unlimited Mina with Beast SGA, I have a wide selection of armours of which the most protecting is eMine, all the usual plates, 200+ HP, level 45 Evader. On Calypso I normally hunt mid-level mobs that keep my defense costs low, eg drones, molisk, feffoid, longu.

When I was on Arkadia before I thought Oweko and smaller Oratan were about the right level for me but their loot didn't seem too exciting.

    So, any recommendations?

    * This issue with the market history is a really big barrier for me. It makes it very confusing and difficult when trying to assess the potential of another planet. I hope the Arkadia team are lobbying MA to change this, as I'm certain it would be in their interests to do so.

I think its really difficult to hunt for MU here but there are a few things to keep in mind:

Native hides are selling quite well and the MU is local. So if you check auction you should get a good idea of what to target.
General oils, hides, wools that normally sell for very low MU on caly will go for a higher price here. For example its not unusual to get 110% for thyroid or adrenal oil, depending on the demand at that moment (it is very dynamic).

Weapon MU is pretty high but I am not sure of the demand. There is a thread here which has some info on what weapons are looting from various mobs. I hunt Huons a lot and they drop lots of cap-303, cap-303 Jungle, asi-30 (not sure which model). Kadra are dropping cap-202 - I manage to sell 1 every day or so. I believe yuka drop cap-404 but am not sure about that.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks KikkiJikki.

I was looking at the hide prices last night (and also noticed the good oil prices) but without knowing how frequently each mob drops them it's hard to get an idea of what will work. For Calypso mobs I have lots of data that helps me work out stuff like that, but for Arkadia I have nothing which is what makes it hard for me to know where to begin.

Diff mob drop hides at different frequencies. I haven't kept strict records except with halix. The number of hides seems to be around 20% of your ammo cost for them. Madana seem to be be similar. Oro and Tiarak I think slightly less. Carabok, it's really hard to accumulate significant quantities of hides because the critters are so tiny and there are so many newbies hunting them and the spawn size is so small, you can't round up a bunch and kill them quickly. Jori drop their hides at a good rate, though they are slow to hunt because of their distribution. Ostelok seem to be closer to 10% of ammo cost, but I've only hunted them once, maybe that was just bad luck.

Overall, the drop rate is much higher than the Caly mobs I've hunted... which are not very many.

If any of those critters drop an Law 202 Arctic, throw it my way.
Want to start using Ark weapons but if I can't get one may have to get an Isis... :/

The question is what would I want to hunt, not what do you want me to hunt :D

Neil nice help, like you offer always within the game. Really nice advise.

The problem of the carabok hides is what he said. If you are lucky they sometimes are dropped in 15 or 30 stacks, and after 2 hours of hunting you can get between 120-170 hides I think.
Anyway, today they have been sold for 500% so, I reconmend to you to hunting caraboks quickly for now.

Well I tried a few mobs but most of my PEDs were turned into loot sitting on auction without selling or even getting any bids at 101%, so for now I'm back on Calypso.

I'm now better informed for future trips though, so that's good :)

One thing I found out was that the Carabok are definitely a good mob for new players right now, but 10 HP is too little even for me :D

    Thanks for the help everyone.
