Found a fix at harbour for lag. It seems to be caused by the waterfalls and fountains particle effect. turn down in advanced graphics just particle effects to low or safe and lag all gone for me

Seemed to bump up fps a couple for me but still hella laggy.

But every bit helps! Thx Kitten.

Also minimizing (low or safe mode) the post-processing helps qhite a bit.

This is the "glow" of the teleporter and a few other areas.

If you have a slow vidcard or PC removing only post processing and particle effects has a massive impact on performance and allows you to still render textures and avatar detail nicely..

With my old video card (the onboard one I was stuck with until I got a decent one) shadows created a ton of lag.. more than particle effects or post-processing combined.. Had to leave that one on low while most everything else could be mixed Med-Very High.

Celeste is pretty busy and different graphics cards render different elements better, so what people should turn down (or off, which is what usually happens on low/safe) will vary based on their card and to a lesser extent their system overall.

Similarly people's definition of lag also varies - some need 30fps+, some are happy around 20fps, and some can go down to 10-14fps before they start getting irritated.

You should generally get around 20fps on high settings with a modern card and as far as I can tell the place is fairly well optimised given the volume of stuff in it.
The recent updates did knock a couple of FPS off though, and it'll drop more with additional people in the area.

As for the issues some people have with the TP I haven't seen them when using nvidia cards (including an older 9800), so it may be a card/driver issue.

I get around 10 fps on low settings at Celeste.

Is this a bad time to say I get ~20 fps at Celeste on Very High? :p

If you can post your FPS at Celeste Harbour and the graphics card you use I think that would be helpful for the Arkadia team to troubleshoot it - esp. if you are still getting very low FPS on the lower settings!
