Surely this is not normal...

It seems that when you get a group of sweaters around a mob by the quarry, it's extremely frustrating to heal effectively because of the fail rate of the heal tool. Ion and T79x were there and observed the high fail rate for themselves, so it's not just my avatar or my substandard healing skills. Regen chip, gyro-fap, and herb box all showed the same thing.

We did a lot of testing and these are the things I can say about it. The fail rate seems to be related to the number of people actively sweating. If they're standing still around a mob not sweating, the fail rate seemed much more normal. At the peak we had probably nine people sweating and it was very difficult to heal, but I was also seeing high fail rates when there were only three. Ostelok also cause massive fail rates, so it's not just the hadraada. We tried different locations farther from the CP and no change, though we did not try another server.

One sweater mentioned they'd seen high fail rates since the last update, another mentioned seeing high fail rates trying to heal a group of oro hunters (that would be a different server).

Any insightful comments before I send this off as a support case?

That seems to happen to me a lot at night.. During the day it's not usually too bad... Sometimes it's that way out in carabok field with only one sweater.. Though it's gotten better (for me) since the last update...

Nope, relog doesn't seem to make a difference. Only reasonable conclusion: It's a server thing.

 

Yup, that looks like a FAIL.... I've experienced that once with my A3 MKII once on calypso.

 

Lol you are a really bad healer

Some interesting things for the arkadia team to know might be:

-is this the first time, or is it always like that?
-is it only on that server, or maybe even that particular area, or on more servers?
-do you get the messages too when shooting?
-do you have a quick internet connection and aren't you downloading stuff at the same time?
-did the sweaters get a lot of failed messages also?

I think with answers to those questions they might have a better chance at finding out what is wrong.

 

It was not only Neil who had this problem.

T79 and I have tested it as well and we had the same results with different FAP's.
So it is not avatar or connection related.

And so far it only seems to be with healing tools.

I get that from my work internet which is slow and never from my home internet which is super fast. seems to be lag related

 

I had it too, only time ever happened was the last couple of days...
and for you conspiracy people sitting not far from MA's HQ and normally never have lag issues like this

 

I did not notice it two weeks ago when I was healing for the sweat team, though looking back over the log there were quite a few fails, just not long strings of them, so it was not as annoying. The effective heal rate then two weeks ago was 70% (couple hours). Yesterday was it was 40% (45 min). I may be going to Caly today. If I get a chance I'll drop by LD and see what kind of fail rate I get there, just for comparison.

 

I have this fail too today November 3, at Calypso using heal chip. First time i see a "Fail" message in a tool, only with weapons in the past.
