But now if somehow this Lee character reappears I'll be soooo mad!!!


What bothers me though is why everyone in the story now calls these aliens Oratan? Is there no one of any intelligence left Those aliens could be oratan but we don't know could be something else there is no evidence to say who they are apart from making assumptions from the new translation of the signal.


What ever those aliens are they sure got upset about Lee and his scout patrol trying to explore the cave. Wonder what's so important about the cave!

 

Nicely done, Lee is dead ...for being stubborn beyond belief..but with ships in orbit..couldn't they fire in defense of the fire-bases, even if it fell well outside, to lower the enemys numbers while under retreat? Just my thoughts but seeing Lee dead was no surprise, but having them carrying away bodys is. Maybe cannibalism? If the planet was wiped clean of most animals, a force so large might need food, so we become that food. There's some big battles coming, and possible retreat to orbit, I'd guess.

 

My guess would be all the riches of the world are in that cave system from what the last diciphered part of that message stated. Their leader said if he couldnt save themselves the important material things would be out of harms way.

By the distorted and frightening shapes wielding wicked instruments part I would say we are looking at some kind of mutated species that either had or aquired some technology either from their past or on their travels.

The shear numbers that they talk about have me wondering now....

All I can picture is what my radar looks like in most areas of Calypso...Soild red with dots. This does not bode well for miners going by the details of these attacks.

But on a good note Lee somehow got a genetic code from them.. I weould not bother trying to block them from using the tp's..Id set it up so parts of teh DNA go here.. other parts go over there and yet other parts go to a different part of the continent all together.

Let em use the tp's and we could easily thin out the herd so to speak in a short time span.

 

Third paragraph reads, "Then did we learn to target the Olatar"

Who are these Olatar? is it a mistype or deliberate?

The cave is unlikely to be "Lo’dela" but may be some kind of important area for the Oratan. Lo'dela is likely to be a mysterious place that we will need to figure out what or where it is. I doubt they would tell us it's a cave on the outset, it's probably going to be like us finding El Dorado the Lost City of Gold

Cybrg Bill, remember that 8 coins is not under attack so this should be perfect spot for miners.

Gerge, I think that Olatar are some sort of Oratan leaders

Personally, I'd love to see those ruined firebases as soon as I'm on Arkadia! Abandoned buildings, both Arkadian and human would be great addition!

 

I think I'll bring rocket and grenade launchers to the party.

I am so ready to set foot on the planet!!!

 

8 coins will probably be Deathifier's LA area and since it's surrounded by mountains will be safe from oratan.

Will be interested to see if all other bases are evacuated or if To'an decides to fight it out at main base ...

 

It really interesting storyline man i wish they add one pix that i suggest call "Cave of crystals" for those oratan hiding inside. but off the point. I knew it they will give Arkadia trouble. I found this interesting pix in forum abt arkadia building look ruin at eqypt.

So long as no one ever puts a teleporter there for the Oratan hrde to come thru I would say it will be relatively safe for a while. As far as fighting it out at the base, logic dictates go back to ships in upper atmosphere and bombard from there to thin the herds. But that opens them up to the fate of the other ships that lay in ruins out there now as well. Wonder how many of us in the arriving fleet will be abandoned on the planet after our personel carrier ships are destroyed in high orbit.

Remember that there is a fleet bearing colonists approaching They have to fight and secure at least some teleporters, or where would they put all the colonists ?

 

They would do exactly what Calypso did, drop them on the surface at small towns and let them fend for themselves. If they kill a few dozen bad guys in self-defense, then that's that many the military doesn't need to worry about. They can't drop colonists and then try orbital bombardments, so miners, hunters, and scientists will become the cannon-folder for the military.

 

But our DNA is on file we can be remade at a revive....do the Oratan have this tech? hell they have to use our TP's to bounce around in.

Id nbe willing cannon fodder for a space bombardment if I knew Id be revived and have a quiet time frame to scoop up some of the freshly made glass and exposed minerals from the attack. 8=}}

 

I can get a grip on the dna thing, They can rebuild us from the ground up. But I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that we come back with all our memory's right up until we died..lol. But the bad guys can use our technology if they get a sample of it, just like we can re-engineer theirs. so maybe that's a plan,overrun a few bases and get our tech, then use it against us.
