The economy on Arkadia is not doing well. Most everything a miner or hunter comes across go straight to the TT which = big losses = people leaving. Here are the things I believe are wrong and need to be fixed ASAP to get Arkadia moving, that have not been discussed in other threads. 1. BPs need to get out. No BPs = worthless mining finds and animal oils, etc. BAD for crafters, bad for hunters, and bad for miners. Everyone loses PED. 2. I ve only found TWO mobs that drop any armor, and it is lowbie stuff. On other planets, virtually all mobs drop some armor sometimes. This is a good thing, as it sells at a markup, instead of the crap dropped by Arkadia mobs that goes straight to the tt. I ve hunted virtually everything from lvl 20-40, and have got 0 armor pieces after thousands of kills. 3. No unique draw. Yeah, I know, treasure hunting, but we are told that is a looooonnng way off. Calypso has big population, migration, tp from FOMA. Rocktropia has lots of loot dropping, tons of clothing BPs, and HELL. We need something to draw people too... 4. No big HOFs ever. It seems Calypso and Rocktropia are part of one loot pool, and we are in a different one. Few people = small loot pool = small HOFs. Not good 5. No shops. We have 0 land areas (besides the 2 presold ones), 0 malls, 0 shops. 6. Distance. Everything else that is popular is close together. (Calypso, FOMA and Rocktropia) People visit these places with relative ease. We are far far far away. Can t we at least be able to get MA to allow us to TP to one of the neutral stations or something to cut down on travel time? What do other people think? Am I wrong? Have other solutions? Lets see if we cant make things better.
All the questions you ask are already answered by David actually. End of the line, patience as they are working on it. And about space travel, it is only a few minutes flight. I don't see any reason why the current distance would be a problem. Current flight schedule is more reliable than your local bus service. Regards, Ion
On most points yes Nevertheless you have a point. 0: Miners don't have to tt stuff, and especially not almost everything 1: there are plenty of blueprints, low availability of resources is a bigger problem for the crafters then the lack of blueprints 2: tried hunting bigger mobs? level 40 doesn't really sound as a mob that should drop something big? Although i do think some more armor sets would be nice, so you might be right about this one. 3: The Unique draws you mentioned are only short term fixes (like migration of merry mayhem), won't do anything for the long run 4: THANK GOD FOR THAT, my tt returns are much more stable here since there are fewer uber hofs. 6: if you paid to go up into space, arkadia is hardly any more trouble then the other planets/asteroids Your point 5 is very good though, we definately need some shops so the crafters can actually sell some stuff, I think that is essential for a starting planet.
I cant complain - most of the mobs im on here are kind to me (maybe im just lucky). Thou i still miss some better item drops Right now we at Arkadia have some tuff times when the migration is running on Calypso And yes - animal oils has seen better days at Arkadia that the last days Im still liking it her - but AA team and Davis should several times daily be on the phone/e-mail daily to MA and kick them to fix the item drops. I will very soon be out of faps. No faps is dropping around level 45-50 paramedic and i dont have ressourced to make ur175 and ur200. That is a BIG problem.
Dylan, I think you have some good points but you are overstating the extent of the problem. I dont think we have a crisis. I cant comment on mining though I do see a reasonable amount of mining loot on auction for high MU - too high for me to buy in fact. And in hunting I absolutely reject that the majority of loot is TT food. Seems to me that the majority of hunting loot is oils, wools, non arkadian hides. Almost all of these are saleable and for MU higher than what I can get on Caly. On the issue of crafting, I am only a low level crafter and I have bps but I cant afford to pay the MU on the resources for many of them. So I generally craft with things that I loot that are possibley TT food - eg generic hides. However it doesnt help the economy that some sections of BPs are yet to arrive (yep textures, clothes). And the lack of shops and apartments cuts demand for furniture, So yes the sooner we get hat sorted the better. Armour drops would indeed be good. I havent looted any since I have been here. I have various sets of unl armour so I am ok but I am currently planning on picking up boar (L) next time I am on caly to allow me to step up a level in hunting. I would much rather use a local equivalent if I could get it. I've been looting weapons and using them rather than selling them. The weapons here seem quite competative in terms of dps and eco after MU accounted for. HOFs are irrelevant. Reality is, depending how smart you play you will get a 90% return on ammo and weapon decay (or probe, finder and amp decay) in the long term. Then it comes down to MU. And while I would like to see more items dropping, the MU on many stackables is not bad. Hey I like a 50k ath as much as the next guy but its not part of my strategy for success. I dont think space distance is an issue. If you hire a quad pilot then its a 10 minute or so trip. My big gripe is with lootable $&$^&#( pvp. Thats the main reason we have a shortage of muscle oil. Regards, KikkiJikki
Dylan The A-Team are working hard to get the BPs released. They have set up the ores and enmatters drops which will be specific to Arkadian BPs so dont TT them, save them up! Yes player numbers are down but the A-Team are working hard on a whole range of things for release later this year. Once treasure hunting, Arkadian missions, shops, apartments, BPs, vehicles appear people will come back. Arkadia will have its own migrations one day. Just be patient, good things come to those who wait! Cheers Bjorn
if i may add to your statement that we are in a diffrent lootpool, that is totally not true as far as i know. The only reason big hofs ain't dropping on arkadia is because it has too few people actually active on hunts/mines/crafts
Thank you for the thoughtful responses guys. I really want Arkadia to work out, so I post this hoping we can find solutions, and bring light to what is preventing Arkadia's growth. I think few BPs dropping (especially attachments) and virtually no armor dropping from mobs SHOULD be simple fixes, and would help a lot of our population.
One thing that David Dobson said specifically in his interview is that release of BPs and items is spread out so that not everything drops at once. Shops and estates are due out sometime in the next few months. Texture Blueprints could start dropping next update (whenever that will be -- up to MA). Crisis? No. Problems? Possibly. Are they being worked on? Most definitely. Show some patience, save up your materials, and wait and see what happens in the next two months.
What did RT have 3months after launch? no BPs, invisible lootable pvp(?), no new CND... What do RT even have today? I never see any special big loots from there weekly as you say or even monthly and about their new CND sure go amp big on Arkadia and you get huge hits here too I'm sure if you're in a good cycle... Cant really compare to Calypso, but they also have "(Loot Steal)", no noob friendly place, lots and lots of drama, no mining places on a whole continent(or try drop 400enmatt drops on Eudoria without hunting at the same time), no good pure hunting spawns... Are you people so short minded that everything need to be here in one month or better yet one day? (see I can too ) PS. please specify what kind of mobs you hunted as levels tell us absolutely nothing, I know from personal loots at least 3 low loots armor pieces, and don't forget MA controls your loot
Ok, I m seeing a lot of rose colored glasses here from the advisor team. Perhaps my first post was too negative, but i have a feeling m ost of you are low level. I have cycled 100,000s of PEDs, and have lost over $2000 dollars this month on Arkadia. I think my vantage point may be a little different than my Oro hunting friends...
wow so because you dont know when to say stop I should not comment on things I see wrong, and you know it all as you cycled X amount of ped? Feel free to PM me as I wont comment again, and if you check my posts here and on other forums you see I got no "glasses" on
Wow, how presumptuous to estimate the skill levels of people responding to your thread, especially the advisers. They are advertized as new players as well as experienced. CEO Dave has said several times, this place won't get built overnight, and MA balances the loot, including item drops. The better armors would be cool to loot and use on the mobs here. The one point I see is bp drops. It's tough to have over 200 clicks of gyro fap-2 only to get 1 of the 3 bps as an Arkadia based bp. And finding resources to click the nice dropping bps is tough at the moment. Some of the basic bp resources seem to have gone rare, at least for now, ppl haven't found it enough. I myself am going slow, waiting for the next VU with new content. Occasionally mining looking for the new fields, some crafting, and hunting, cycling PED around. Things will change in the upcoming months, and it'll be quite cool!
Numbers, I have seen many of them in game, and they are mostly low level. Nothing presumptuous about it. As for BPs, i have made thousands of attachment crafting attempts, I ve gotten dozens of low level Calypso BPs, a lot of crappy limited Calypso BPs, dozens of tier 1 Arkadia BPs that you can buy from the technician, and 2 tier 2 bps, headshot 2 and rage 10. Not good results
Haha, you're funny. Not everyone skills very hard, or pick just one skill, they enjoy other aspects of EU. One person can't build Arkadia's economy alone. Let's see what updates are in the new VU.
Not only can one person not build an economy, but a group of people can't build an economy in a day. Or even a month. I see the problems you stated. I understand what you're saying. I'll admit I'm lower-level. In his interview, David Dobson said that if you're doing 2000 clicks and not getting Arkadia BPs, tell him. That means post it under "Feedback" in the Development forum. They read that like every day. And I think the point that's been made is to be patient and just because some people don't see the same problems as you do to the same extent does not mean they have "glasses" on. It may simply mean we're not so impatient and willing to spend $2000 in a single month on a stupid game. If I found myself depositing even $500 in a single month I'd be stepping back and rethinking my commitment to it. If you want to put $2000 into it per month, be my guest. But don't assume that because you do that means you'll get special treatment. And don't think that because others choose not to that they're less of a player (or person) than you are. You'll get loot drops same as the rest of us.
This is a very good point. If we look at the current Eomon and Longtooth global and ATH fest it is because every man and this dog are hunting them at the moment. Remember the global screen when Arkadia first opened, it was Huon global every 30 seconds at Sanctuary Cove. Now that the number has dropped so has the globals. The goods are there ready to drop, we just need to grind to get them. There are some kick ass UL weapons waiting for us on Arkadia. Cheers Bjorn
Yepp, we need more hunters on Arkadia. But it is hard to bring them there. If we get the update on Calypso after migration with the new mobs, hunters will go for them and not coming back to Arkadia for a while. So we need something to attract them. Missions, Events maybe new mobs also. I really love Arkadia, but I can't survive (PED) there with my main profession atm.
