Hello, I've played Entropia since around 2004ish but have only deposited in recent years... Also haven't really specialized in any skill quite yet due to my playing being on and off, my best is level 15 Laser Pistoleer...

Okay so what I was wanting to ask is:

Is there any special techniques towards mining or is it simply as I do and have always done it; drop random bombs and hope for the best? I ask this because I've never really had much luck in the long time I've played and wonder if I am going about it all wrong?

Also could you please give me information on what the best finder to use is? The account I'm using is only level 1 in mining skills so no fancy one....Is there actually much difference between finders and does using a TT finder restrict you to certain find sizes?Thank you

    hello,
first of all u should place bombs at least ~100m apart(doubled finder range). found resources depend on finder and its average search depth(asd), some stuff is found in all depths some is only found in a destinct range. i go with maxed finders to learn a bit about the ground from the skills i get. maybe this helps, maybe not :D

may the hof be with you

    old timer info

Hello, I've been around for a while now, about 8-9 years off and on. I specialized in mining on day one and have ever since. There are some things I do that may or may not be totally true but they have worked in the past for me.

    1) enmatter, is a liquid based material look the area over and think to yourself "Where would water lay?" and try there first. It doesn't always work but I try it that way and have done ok.

    2) ore is rock, so mine for it where there are mountains, another belief that has worked for me in the past, also where you see rocks thrown around in open fields or when small hills are in the middle of fields, try there.

    3) remember where you find things and try there again, had a nice talk once with a EU rep at an old town meeting and he said that areas mined out reload or re-spawn in about 4 hours, so its possible to find hits in nearly the same spot twice a day if someone else doesn't get there first.

This is just a little info you can try give it a shot and see how it works out for you.

If your just starting mining stay with the TT or 101 for a while, your skills wont do you any good with expensive finders, you need lots of practice before your skills will be high enough to use big finders, I use 102 for everything, it will find about 75-80% of all things out there except for the really rare deep ores, but they are rare finds anyways, and no a finder has no influence on the size of the finds.

Seriously, I've used the Z1, F105 and Tik 200. I don't think, there's different much for these three finders, except its finding depth. By the way, I've found 9 HoFs and 5 of them were found using Z1. So, tt finder is not the restriction of us to find some globals/hofs...

    Thank you guys, much appreciated...

Haha I do this too... in RL I am studying geophysics with the potential to go into the mining industry so always use my knowledge with that on-planet although I doubt that MA use such scientific practice when spawning finds on PE ^^
