hi there, after logging-out and closing clientloader i still had my aero-theme switched off. started EU again and after shutting down still no change. apparently the clientloader.exe did not shut down properly and was now running multiple times thus the deactivated aero for EU was not reset. closed the loader via taskmanager :surrender:but i guess its a bug worth reporting. i couldn´t find a thread about it so here it is, if there is one this can be closed/moved. running win7 64bit!! almost forgot this tiny detail regards, hideo
This has been on going for me for the last month or so. I never reported it because I just leave the client loader up.
This is exactly what I've been doing. I've not changed the .exe properties at all and i still get this idiotic bug where it won't close. i also find that on closing EU down i get it going not responding for a few secs sometimes. annoying but not enough for me to investigate further
as i have to disable aero-theme to capture proper screenshots ingame, i have to say it´s a bit annoying to kill the process everytime after log-out manually. hence a bug report
I've been having this kind of problem with client loader not closing properly for about 5 years I think... I never expect EU to shut down properly these days, I usually just come back to it later and manually close...
I have win7 in and its done this to me a few times. But when it happens I can not return to EU again because when I click it it says that the loader is already running. It doesn't show on the desktop, or in taskmaster as on, but the desktop link says it is but wont let me back in until I shut it down. Went into task master and then resources, to find it running, and shut it down there, even after shutting down the game and loading screen manually, on the way out of game. Doesn't happen every time but often enough to be a bother.
Same issue here even restarting my comp didn't fix it. ;( Mine won't go past the TOA/EULA to even open the client loader at times.
I ran the fix utility from tools and now my client loader no longer hangs but the actual app still hangs intermittently when closing. This was fixed in one vu and then broken again recently. James
I figured out a workaround for getting into game bypassing the clientloader for when I didn't feel like manually closing the ClientLoader.exe process. I run Win7 64-bit and this problem actually only popped up after VU 12.0.1, I believe. Prior to that I've never had a problem. An easy way to close it is hit WinKey+R and type: taskkill /F /IM ClientLoader.exe and Hit Enter (or click Run). Type this command in a shortcut creation wizard to create a desktop icon. To run EU bypassing the ClientLoader altogether (I've noticed it's actually less stable for some strange reason, but it works): Create an icon on your desktop pointing to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Entropia Universe\bin\Entropia.exe" After browsing to the file, add this on the end: --run -windowmode It'll look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Entropia Universe\bin\Entropia.exe" --run -windowmode If you don't have "Window Mode" checked in your clientloader tools, change it to -fullscreen. There ya go for easy workarounds.
