    Good day

Please note im fairly new at this game so im quite noob :p

Iv just bought myself an ark gun 3ped, The question i wanna ask is it possible to make profit hunting solo. I paid 1 ped which gives me about 50 shots. It takes me about +-10 shots on average to kill halix. When my 50 ammo was finished i had about 0.40 ped worth of loot killing a few halix. this means iv lost 0.60 ped

I tried hunting puny and i didnt see much change in profit
Now i understand its luck of the draw according to what the mobs drop

Is there any technique in gaining profit hunting solo
    any feedback would be appreciated

I hope this makes sense

    Regards

Yes, but you won't like the answers.

    1) Get lucky and hit a global, HoF (Hall of Fame), or ATH (ALL Time High).

    2) Hunt mobs that drop materials with a very high MU% (Mark Up). Usually only very highly skilled hunters can hunt mobs that drop high MU loot, so you need to skill up quite a bit (i.e. spend money) before you can hunt those. As anyone can hunt noob mobs, the MU on the loot do do get is not enough to cover the TT loss.

My advice is don't play this game expecting to profit hunting... play it to have fun.

Otherwise, I suggest you quit immediately.

(Keep in mind, there are other ways to profit, specifically trading.)

    Hi Niel,

    Welcome to Arkadia!

What Chrome didn't neccesarily mention, was that any profession in EU is about the long haul, or average. There is no defined pattern in loot return, spikes happen (positive and negative). Many of the easier to kill mobs don't often drop items that have high markup. You might get lucky and hit a large loot, but typically, it's a pattern of attrition.

I recommend to most players starting off, to concentrate less on profiting, and more on minimizing losses, exploring the planet, and meeting folks. Depending on your play style, many starting off can have fun, learn alot, with about $15 a month (bout same as mmo prescription).

    i couldn't agree more,

When i hunt i just go out with about 100ped of ammo,
with that my gear will decay with about 50ped. giving me runs of 150ped total spend.
after that whole run is done, i check how much return i've got and if there are any items in it holding market value.

Then it's only learning how/where to sell your loot (auction) and your all ready to go :)
