I've noticed that muscle oil is in short supply (and high cost!) on Arkadia. I suspect that this is because some relatively low-end mobs drop higher-priced oils instead. Example; Small Cornundacauda on Calypso drop fairly large amounts of muscle oil; small oros (which as far as I can tell are fairly close in difficulty) drop just about nothing except eye oil. Of course, really low-end mobs like the starter one in training (can't remember the name) and halix drop muscle oil, but inevitably not much of it. Does anyone know of any reasonably low-end mob that drops muscle oil in quantity? For reference, small owekos are about my limit. Failing that, maybe the Arkadian managers could tweak drops a bit?
I think I got almost all the muscle oil I looted on Arkadia from Halix. So they might still be your best bet. I guess the somewhat low droprates of it where set to encourage space trading. I already had it on my list of goods to bring to arkadia before the lootable space VU was implemented. Ironic much.
You want to hunt Jori. They are the fish. Entropedia info here. Bigger ones are off the north and northwest coast of the Sanctuary Cove island. I've gotten really good muscle oil returns from them. Good luck!
Pity there is not a higher lvl mob that drops it. Was hunting jori yesterday and found it quite frustrating and a lot of effort for the amount of oil dropping.
Have you tried the higher maturity Jori? I've had decent muscle oil loots on them compared to any other mobs on Arkadia. I hunt the ones way up north off the NW section of the island.
Cheers, should have noticed them, but just one creature dropping muscle seems weird, thought that maybe something else might have been adjusted in the patch to drop muscle as well.
