Let the exploration begin. This can only get better as the plot thickens. Could the signal be a low orbiting cloaked satellite that is also scanning and relaying vital information to the Arkadian's? Could the hostiles be indigenous people of the planet, and it was only a scouting party they encountered? Are the Arkadian's trying to find the strength and weaknesses of the "aliens" to their world? The main force being much stronger, and waiting for the right moment. Are the humans being studied to find out there intentions, friendly or hostile? What "treasures" will the scientists find? What about the explorers and the miners? Oh the questions just keep flowing. Now to wait for the next installment of the story. I'm waiting....... Side note: Now wouldn't it be cool if there are survivors that will have missions for us to help them rebuild the world they grew up on? I am so ready to go visit this planet.
I dont know...Sounds like To'an is gettin a little sweet on Sundari. That will not bode well for our colonists as a distracted leader is not a good thing. Seems they are already forgetting to pay attention to their surroundings by spreading out too fast. Personally I would not thin out my troops like that to multiple fire bases that soon. Get them up and established one at a time and make sure each area is truely secure before moving on to expand. Id still have the non military stationed in low orbit specially the none self sufficiant nerdy types where their ego over rides the basic survival instincts. As for the attack they had a short while ago I still am laughing because all I can picture in my head was the pigmys that attacked in movie the Mummy Returns. I get the feeling there are more hidden like that first one they encounter camoflaged in mud by the tree that made everyone jump in the theater. Then again the Arkadians could be less humanoid as we dont have that info confirmed yet. They could be like them little hoppy dinosaurs that attacked the rich couples daughter on that island in Jurasic Park II. And yes I watch far too many movies and tend to quote from them alot for visual refrences.
