Hi,There is currently an email circulating that asks you to try something called "Entropia Universe Helper". This email is NOT sent from MindArk and is an elaborate try to install possible malicious software on your system. If you have clicked these links or downloaded this program we strongly suggest that you: 1. Do a search for mal-ware/viruses on your system. 2. After that is done, change the password for both your email client and Entropia Universe. 3. If you so wish, we can lock your account temporarily to prevent any un-authorized access. Please send in a support case with the title "Please lock my account" and we will take care of it as soon as possible. And if you do not already have one we strongly suggest that you purchase the added layer of security in the form of a Gold Card. Remember, MindArk will never ask you for your username or password. This "Entropia Universe Helper" already seem to be removed from file sharing services it had been uploaded to, MA is acting quickly. Here is info on how to remove this malware: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/threads/entropia-universe-helper.5372/ Just keep in your mind that method mentioned in link above doesn't guarantee complete removal of this malware. Additional antivirus scanning with heuristics enabled is good idea. While it may give some false positives, it is more likely to detect new/unknown threats.
It seems lots of folks got the email ( I didn't thankfully) and sadly far too many also clicked the link. Sounds nasty for sure, good luck on cleaning it up to any who downloaded it.
