Post-VU 2011.2 mining

Hi,

I'm not able to play today, but I was wondering if mining really improved because of fewer lyst & oil.
I was actually considering last night returning to calypso because it's hard to go for decent-markup stuff because the markets haven't stabalized yet... (I don't wanna mine and hope my luck will make me profit )

So what are your opinions on post-VU 2011.2 mining?

I expect the miners will be letting us know if things have improved a lot as the day and evening goes on, the lyst was certainly getting to them

So far I'm still finding a ton of lyst.. but that might just be the area I've been mining in. Too early to tell I guess.

 

I see how it is... playing it safe. LoL

I'd laugh if they upped the lyst and oil instead of decreasing it.

 

Yup, still getting more than 60% lyst :/

yeah Lyst is rediculously comming, from a noob here starting to manufacure things is hard because i have an abundance of a material that is used in maybe one tt blueprint. useless to me

 

I just did a mining run and only got 1 lyst claim, it was far less lyst than before the update.

 

LoL my 25 ped run got 22.52 lyst tt... I must be doing it wrong...

 

I started mining here day one and was getting about 65 to 70% lyst. Over time it has dropped to roughly 30% lyst as of yesterday. I am logging in soon as I am done here to go see what has changed. I have tracked every claim so far on planet so I will know for sure what they have done.

 

I did a 70p short run this morning and I found a TON of OIL...very little Lyst.

And...I made a profit!

I finished 68 ped probes form yesterday and got 22 claims. All but 3 were lyst with 2 en mat claims on a bunch of double drops done. So I went from 30% lyst yesterday to over 80% today...

 

10 first claims > 10x lyst... lvl 25 with f105

 

This post is not directed at any one person but all I can say is don't judge on the first few probes, runs or days. I was getting almost exclusively oil/lyst the first few days. As the Ark auction moved above 200 pages, I was getting a wide variety of finds and usually between 10 - 15 types of minerals on an ore run...kind of like a run N & W of New Switz. As the Ark auction moved below 200 pages, I notice tons of lyst/oil again. Or it could just be my natural cycle. I have days I only find X until it changes to Y. Then I only find Y. I have bad streaks and good ones.

After years of mining on Calypso I still have my "oil/lyst days" even when swapping out finders and amps. Too early to judge is right. What was obvious was the size nerf after the VU and the fact that extractors were not fixed after patches.

P.S. George RR Martin rocks, especially the Song of Ice and Fire series. I hope he lives to finish it.

It seems I will be returning after all.. But I'm sure to come back at a later time!

 

While soon after patch things got better, now it seems to me that oil and lyst have come back, sadly.

Mining all planet with vrx2000 and F106, honestly too much lyst/oil yet?

I second that. It's the feeling (sry no numbers) I've got here. As the market isn't stable with a (more or less) continuous ped flow, it's not accurate to say it's this or that way..... I've got moments when I hit lots of little claims of various resources, sometimes nrf's then lyst from V to VII...nrf's then again lyst, etc.
Maybe it's time to be careful about the output of the balancing algorythm and draw some interresting conclusions?

I've done 1 run since the update. I got only about 10% lyst. The overall return was 87% TT return.
