Hi everyone. I have been inactive for about 3 years now, and normally log on every 6 months to check on my account and that everything is fine. I recently went on vacation from January to end of February and came back on Sunday 27th Feb. (came home to a hellhole as had a disaster in the house) Anyway I downloaded and installed Entropia Universe to my new computer ( I got a new pc in December ) As I was planning on returning to Entropia and depositing some PEDs and go hunting and buy more land deeds. As soon as I logged on, I heard a notification, I immediately noticed that my Arkadia Underground Deeds were missing! and all my PED. I opened up notifications, on Sunday someone listed my deeds for sale, cancelled the listing, They then listed it again and sold them all, They then proceeded to either SELL or TRADE all my items in my storage and on my character to someone else and then they proceeded to BUY a Weapons Cabinet for 1110 PED on Calypso... I have no idea how to buy remotely but somehow they did. I panicked, I changed my passwords and everything. I immediately logged a ticket to Mindark to explain my situation. They said they can not assist me because this is a federal crime of computer intrustion. But nobody intruded my computer, They physically logged into my entropia account ( from who knows where in the world! ) and then they stole all my posessions and PED and now they are running around Entropia, spending my PED, riding my CARS and Boats and flying my ships around... Everything I had worked SO hard for is gone and I don't know how to get help - nor do I understand why they can not help me. Someone on REDDIT went through a similar ordeal "ABHIAANG's HEALING SERVICE " Someone logged into their account in 2021 and stole all their things, But Mindark managed to help them recover everything. I would appreciate it from the bottom of my heart if anyone can point me into the right direction to get assistance, I am even stranded on Arkadia and can't fly anywhere. My account worth was over 1000 PED and now it's a mere 80 PED Thank you for reading my story.
Update: I have now since made a new support case to re-explain my situation in case I was confusing. I have also emailed Mindark for help.
Update: Hi All. I guess this if my final update. after days of struggling with support. They have told me that in accordance with their "policies" they are unable to assist me as "all trades are final" 1100 PED is gone. and all my deeds, passes, cards, weapons, faps, healing gear, hunting gear, materials, my ships, boats, cars are all gone too. And the perpetrator who hacked my account left me with only 80 PED in inventory value - I am stranded and have no transport to leave Arkadia. I used to be a healer, I worked HARD to earn everything I had in Entropia, Many things were gifted to me as well to help me get better situated in Entropia. Seeing that PED and my currency are worth just about the same, I can't afford to replace 3000 PED of items, It would take me all year worth of saving and I am not even kidding. I have learned a very valuable lesson, but I also now know that thieves and criminals who break the terms of use and violate the terms and conditions, who hack your account and steal your belongings, face no consequences when they take your items and money... as support said "All trades are final" - and the person had your username and password - so basically ensure your F2A is active at all times. I have lost about 3000 PED worth of items and I am absolutely distraught and Support won't give me my inventory list from start of Feb 2022 so that I can see what exactly was stolen from me. Thank you to everyone who has given and shown me support over all the years in Entropia Universe, and I am deeply sorry that whatever you invested in me was stolen, as it's not only my loss, It's the loss of those who was there for me too. Sorry to hear about that. It is not the first time this happens to someone, and the following has been said repeatedly, but is rarely acted upon and this is part of why this keeps happening all too easily. Trades in Entropia are final and support cannot act differently without being ruled by superior law. Stealing is a crime, trade in stolen goods is a crime, and facilitating such trades is a crime when done knowingly. Of the latter you cannot accuse an automated system and the people running it, but it has the records to provide you with the evidence to support your case. As a private person you can't get this information just for asking, but the police can when they investigate a crime. What you need to do is report the crime, then the investigators will request this data, including identifying information of the parties involved. Depending on where you are located in the world it may get more or less complicated, but if you find your local authorities uncooperative, know that for pursuing criminal investigations on the internet, there is a wider range of choices. But it is upon you to inform yourself and take action. All the best!
Thank you so much for your response, I appreciate it. I am still in such a state over what happened and can't stop thinking of it. I live in South Africa and unfortunately the police department literally laughed at me here when I said I wanted to report and open a case. It's no surprise though, This country is extremely incompetent. Do you perhaps know of anywhere I can inquire for a criminal investigation online? Then I will do it right away! I tried looking, But I really do not know. They gave me this link : https://polisen.se/en/victims-of-crime/making-a-report/ But I can't find anywhere to report the crime.
There are contact links at the bottom of that page, with various social media and email. The wording is a bit weird indeed, they tell folks to send them tips but not how to report a crime where they are a victim themselves, other than by visiting or phone. The German police offers web forms for that, may depend on region but I haven't seen one without yet. I suggest you use the mail contact in the bottom and ask for the right contact. Most plausibly, this should be with the Gothenburg department (Göteborg in Swedish). Of course, unless cost is an issue, you could ring the international number given, they do speak English.
Just an after thought, you said you have a new PC, did you sell your old one, if so did you sanitise it first ?
