Arkadian Alliance - Go Swirl Yourself Monthly Competition (2017)

Just want to say a big "well done" on this event! Half-way through today, and yes, definitely not too late to start due to the setup. For me it adds an element of strategy that is usually missing from a lot of other events, and that's a big draw over events that simply reward HSL or ML. Multiple LAs, multiple mobs, and multipliers to help balance globals are awesome.

I have also dropped mining tax on khorum coast to 2.5%. I will do the same for songkra when I return to arkadia.

Summary

Thank you everyone for your January participation. I hope that you enjoyed the event and hope that you will take part in the February event. Now you get a kickback for your activity so that you can at least get something back if you do not win (or even if you do!).

Angel of Shadows almost stole the event from Lu Ludra Lud until the final day when Ludra reclaimed 2nd place with a lengthy grind on Khorum Coast that yielded a few large globals. Angel of Shadows began competing only a few days before the event end and made a large leap to the top. Overall, it was a very good month for Tiber, Ludra, and Angel both in loots and in prizes.

The first week power grinder bonuses were skipped as they would not have changed anything meaningful in the standings. We will not be doing these events going forward but instead working on making a good event system that is more on having fun than needing to grind.
