Just a small note: Arkadia PvP areas (and other areas like Land Areas and Event Areas) also show up on the map, but you have to discover them first. I think you have to actually enter them, not just get close. If none of these areas show up on your in-game map, maybe you changed the setting to not display them. Check your settings after opening the map. Also, welcome and good luck on Arkadia :)

You are absolutely right with one of your answers :D, I noticed last night the pvp area was red on my map, and it bugged me I whined about it on here. Maybe I hadn't clicked the filter, beats me, I was very green when that happened, heh. That is probably one of several new player mistakes that I have made, and will keep the rest to myself! :D

hehe no worries :) Whatever mistake you do, take comfort in the fact that lots of people have probably done the same thing before you and will do after you ;)

Today I started the starter mission chains and about half-way through I came across something that may or may not cause grievance for newcomers to EU. The island south of 8C Windy Isles is, as of a recent update, a PVP zone (red one), yet it is 'recommended' to go there to learn how to mine. The mission does say it is 'optional', but I still feel it would be better to redirect that waypoint to a different place that is not a PVP zone. Just my :2pec:.

Its a yellow pvp you dont need the anti toxic shock and so is therefore like the oil rig and non lootable pvp. From memory of this mission it states its suggested to go to this island but you dont have to.

The icon was blinking red so I assumed it was the highest level of PVP (see, even I who have played a bit can't keep track of it). Either way, I don't think it's a good idea to point new players to such an area, optional or not.

it s full of pandi and leaving aside the fact that they have pretty big agro range they hit pretty hard for a new player so I kindda agree with wournos

I think since 2 VU back the chain that lead to the mining mission was broken. Also talking about the pandi, they not only hit hard, they're also fast. When I was doing the mission a couple have aggroed on me and I was on a Spear MK IV. They really could keep up with me crossing entire island until I got pissed and shot them down. I think density or location should be changed, also some stats, these are too fast for fellows that have no legs.

Yes the Pandi section is very difficult for new players. If it wasnt for me running it with my Disciple she would never have been able to do it. The start location and the 2 other locations were all swarming with Pandi.

The NPE is broken but for some people when it comes to transporting the unidentified ore. You can just abondon it and go back and talk to the twins to pick it up again and it should then work.

The PVP Icon below your radar does not differentiate between lootable and non lootable PVP.
It turns orange when you are near a PVP area and then turns red when you are in it.

Being a player new to EU and Arkadia, I just finished the new player missions. I have to agree; this part of the mission chain was frustrating. I found myself on an island that the mission recommended (I figured it was recommended because the mining drops would be higher) but shortly after I hopped out of my hoverpod, those Pandi jumped me. I hopped back in my hoverpod and tried to outrun them, but picked up more and died. After I revived and my hoverpod returned, it's TT value was reduced to zero and I had to hoof it through the remainder of the mission chain.

Other than that spot, I thought the mission chain worked out well.

There two totally different PvP Icons - one turned red in any PvP and another one only inside toxic area (lootable PvP). MA made that change years ago, when they updated UI. So it's impossible to mix up them anymore.

get rid of the 'invisible wall' around the stairwell down/huge cliff near the starting hanger. It makes tp runs a pain in the butt to maneuver around. If you have to have a wall there, make it visible. I realize you are just trying to create the 'right path' for new folks to take, but it's annoying seeing this huge landscape and being unable to go there since this big invisible barrier is in your way..... same thing goes for server edges on outside ends of map... if you are going to stop the server there, fine, just put up a big rocky cliff that is impossible to climb or something.

Wasn't that wall build because people kept falling off the cliff and were dieing en masse? ;)

Lemmings! It was a mass of lemmings jumping off the cliff in a mutual suicide pact. They just couldn't take it anymore and hid all their peds and belongings before taking the leap... Hence the existence of the "Treasure Maps" ROFL

The starting quest line is a must do for any new player – it’s easy, has a nice story, rewards you with a starting vehicle (hoverpod), some armour, some weapons (one melee, one range – ammo included), some experience and it also shows you the most important places on Arkadia (also giving you some essential teleporters along the way). I totally loved it!

So overall impression is really good - would probably rate it with an 8/10.

    Now on the negative side:

    1. Like other people here too I missed the fact that there was no basic guide about my hoverpod so I broke it (unfortunately for me only half TT lose) - that should really get some extra explanation.

    2. Also being sent to the south island sounded like a low trick - didn't liked that at all (although I managed not to die); if you wanna do it, at least give a fair warning about it - remember is still a newbie quest.

    3. Would have appreciated a basic mention of sweating, hunting and crafting (even if just being asked to do a bit of it); you say that people can find these from other players, from mentors, from guides, from forums and that is true, but is equally true that before getting to these resources, someone just giving the game a try and missing them, might very well just quit.

Just adding on a note. New players also have a lack of durable weapons. They receive some rusted ones that breaks on 2nd 3rd mob, so unless this new player is awesome stupid lucky and get a global on these 3 mobs or is doomed to wander around until figure out the sweat tool.

After emigrating from Calypso, I came here on the back of the Swunt Your Wombana train.
I was initially unsure if i would remain.
But my mentor had already recommended Carabok Swunting as a way to skill up and make some progress on my low budget.
Lucky for me, i landed on the planet with 15k sweat, so after doing some investigation on how to get the hoverpod, i purchased the Passport.
As I had already done the Calypso start area, most of the things in the Arkadia area were already second nature to me.
So i made some progress through the mission chain, some of the world markers for some of the "missing scientists" were way off the mark, but i did find them eventually.
There were a few niggles i had through the chain, sometimes, no clear guidance on how to get to places, you can end up walking through some very tough mobs finding some of the scientists. But i suppose that is part of the plan, to keep you aware that this is a dangerous world.
I will re-iterate some previous peoples points. Near the end of the chain the mission to go to 8C island and 3 locations in the middle of all those Pandi was quite a frustrating moment. I could not kill them, all i could do was try to lead them away from where i needed to go, die, release, and reattempt to get to the designated spots, that took some patience on my behalf, but as I am stubborn old fool, i persisted and got to all points and out of there as quickly as possible, and so far have had no reason to ever go back. Seems a strange area to send a new starter in hindsight, so i second previous players words.
Other than that, the mission chain itself was a good way to learn a little bit about the planets topography, and helped to pick up the majority of TP points.
    Good work.

Hello everyone!! Just wanted to let you know my experience. First, I need to let you know in advance that I installed EU back in 2016 but it wasn't until a month or so ago that I started to actually play.
It has been between chaotic and kinda frustrating because of the following:
I cant remember if I made my character originally in Arkadia or if I come from Calypso.

I got a mentor, and we went thru the ropes and came to the conclusion that Im arkadian born. Now into the details.
I wasn't able to do a single quest starting from the New arrivals hangar. I got the passport guy and he doesnt talk to me but I got the passport verification quest completed. The guy next to him, sent me to windy isles.
I have completed IFN training so far and got my ifn card, but, NO PASSPORT on me or my storage. Im currently trying to gather the 10k sweat to see if that triggers the passport guy.
On a sad/positive thing, I had to walk all over Arkadia to do the IFN missions, no hoverpod.
