i see some people trick newbie players into joining events on punnies with prizez but they organize events that u have to vote others to win... sad... one of the organizers for the 19.09.2016 is Brocko SirMixaLot Brockowitzch shame on you!
He made another event with most votes? Was there a ticket price as well? Most likely he was drunk again when he setup the event, not a scam definatly a fail though
I really don't think Brocko would scam people, known him ingame a long time and has always been a good egg. I remember once he started a society Camo flames and gave everyone a uniform with about 70 ped tt, not the actions of a cheat.
making things right would mean reorganizing the event; and if he's such an ond time player do u honestly expect me to beleive that he would let this mistake fly past his observation? i think not, he would have re-organized it
Full disclosure, I am a member of the CAMO society and Brocko SirMixaLot Brockowitzch is the leader of our society. I first caught the mistake that Brocko made when making an event and it was for most votes, he made a mistake and it was in no way intended as a scam. Unfortunately once an event is made, it cannot be changed. You cannot edit or change the event once it has been created via the terminal.
Most vot3s is the default setting. I accidentally set it like that as well in one of my first events.
I take it you didn't win? Looks more like a honest mistake than a scam to me. Also, was not aware that Ark Forum allowed Naming/Shaming on their board.
i didn't even participate, but do you honestly think these kind of events help newbies ? that's the target population right? newbies ?
Actually they can, IF you get people to participate in a good way. A most votes event could easily become a Q&A where people extend information about the game, about their theories on how to play and just general explanation of stuff. Newbies can then vote for those who they think were the most helpful/informative. That's how a most votes event can definatly help newbies. However what isn't helpful is that you come to the forum and basically put a "scam" sign on someone who is trying (maybe not always with his full attention which causes fails) to make events for newer players, especially without any really sound proof/information about it besides a failed event setup (which every event maker has done at least once or twice in their event making days). Might be best to first talk maybe to people ingame about what happened ingame, what went wrong with the event. Provide the feedback to the event maker BEFORE coming all drama-lama to the forum
I agree with this post, akafr0st i would pm Brocko ingame and ask him about event. Brocko is a nice guy and am sure would say things as they happened. I agree though that simply going off on one about stuff wasn't the best move, but hey .
You should not name & shame - because there may also be another side of things. At the same time one should not set up an event unless you are going to do it properly.
when i mentioned it to him on the spot of the event i got this kind of reply: don't like it F off. it wasn't, hey sorry m8 it was a mistake, i was trying to... that's what had me post here
That is important information which is useful to mention in the original post However, him being an ass to you does not provide proof that he is a scammer. Without a doubt he didn't do the event right, but the word "scam" is really high value in EU and should be handled with care to not trash someones reputation (wether it's the person you accuse of being one or your own for making the wrong accusation).
Out of character, but guess he was as pissed about error making event. However when i catch him online I'll mention maybe he upset you. All the best gl out there .
Full disclosure: I have no idea who "Brocko SirMixaLot Brockowitzch" is. I don't think I've even met him nor had any dealings with him. So, this post is not aimed to defend him since I have no personal ties to him. My comments are based solely on the contents of this thread. They could be.. Dunno since I'm not a newbie. I was also not there to see anything that occurred at the event. But do you think this kind of post helps them? This event could very well be an innocent attempt to help them (badly put together but still honest) and you just slapped the organizers in the face by saying they tried to scam them. This is one of the reasons I do not get involved with open events because no matter how much you want to try and help, you always have this one person that doesn't like something and instantly wants to call you a scammer and once that title is attached to you in this game, it doesn't go away.. EVER. Just because you don't like the way it was put together (using EU provided options) does not make it a scam. Just because one of the organizers told you to fuck off doesn't make it a scam. Just because the organizer didn't put out a reorganized event for the participants of this event due to a mistake in the event configuration does not make him a scammer. In this case, if you saw that the winners were all people that were friends with the organizer so that he could get the prizes back and re-use them then you might have a case. That would be a scam but from what you have said that isn't the case. In my opinion, you owe this person an apology for calling them a scammer. You could call him a Bad Organizer or even an asshole for what he said to you but not a scammer. Shame on you.
Yes.. This is the Title you chose for this post. So you are indicating to us that the event was a fail and a scam. Again, something that has been disproven. Again, you indicate that people are tricking newbie players.. I.E. Scamming.. But I think it has been demonstrated that this was not a scam.. Still awaiting the apology..
You didn't mention the fact you approached him or what was being said in the initial post. You have yet to produce any proof that it was a scam or an attempt to abuse new players. I have explained my reasoning on why your accusation is false, I have explained how such an event CAN be good for new players. It's sad to see someone fairly new to the forum lack this kind of understanding. I agree with Sionkiewicz on this, you should apologize to Brocko for accusing him for making a scam event. Anything else then proper proof of scamming or an apology will only hurt your own reputation from this point on tbh.
