Just joined Planet Arkadia yesterday! It's my first time experiencing Entropia Universe and I'm pretty excited. I've been looking for an MMORPG that doesn't spoon-feed you and is actually a long-term sort of commitment. I'm not bothered about making money, and I currently don't have the funds to invest any real money into the game yet. Just looking to have fun, meet new people, and take my mind off of things after a day of work
Completed the tutorial missions (the ACA ones I believe). Now on a quest where I need to find Archaelogical interns as well as another where I need to kill 100 Oratan Puny (died when trying to kill one), also took a challenge to kill 100 Carabok but my weapons are now fully used. So I'm kind of stuck on what to do next... May deposit some money tomorrow for the Gold Starter Pack.
Welcome to Arkadia! The main thing I would recommend is to get a mentor! Mentors are experienced players who can answer questions and give you helpful and much needed guidance. I have one, and she's great! A great mentor can be incredibly valuable in improving your experience in this game.
Hi, one of the early things you'll pick up on is that weapons and gear decay with use and need to be repaired or replaced and that costs peds. Early on (and possibly forever) your returns from hunting and such wont be as high as your costs. So you'll need to find some ped. You can deposit. You can sweat mobs (but this is can be a little boring). I did my first deposit about 3 days after starting. Good luck. KikkiJikki
Nooo! Turn back! Leave! Ops, too late... you are stuck here and sucked into the game like the rest of us It is a long term commitment as you mentioned, to learn how the system works and what is best for you. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to play. All depends on your prefered play style and comfort level with how much you want to deposit (or not to deposit). Do get a mentor as others have mentioned, try to get him/her from a similar timezone as you so you got more time to meet up ingame for advice and help. Welcome to the game and have fun.
Thank you everyone! Bit nervous about getting a mentor as I suffer from anxiety and would be worrying about if I ever do anything wrong. It's a weird thing I know. But I'll pluck up the courage and try to find a mentor who is around the same timezone as GMT. Thanks again
Don't worry about making mistakes. It's expected that new players make mistakes. The mentor's job is to try and help you make less mistakes and to minimise the cost of those mistakes. You both get a reward for completing the process. If your mentor is unhelpful, or rude, ditch him and get another.
Everyone makes mistakes. It may sound cliché but you do learn from them. Just make sure you enjoy yourself!
Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes and the help! I don't suppose anyone knows of a good mentor based around GMT time? It seems like the majority of the mentor threads are quite old on the forum!
Now 'swunting' Gallards whilst doing the first challenge of killing 100 of them. Also, I bought the Gold Starter Pack too
Just tried some money and found over 4k of Lysterium Stone ^.^ Refined it into ingots and now have 44 PED worths of ingots in my storage
