Excuse me? What? I've lost a few months, what happened? Something isn't right, my face looks different. Why am I wearing this godawful onesie?

It took me some time to realize I am at the New Arrivals Hangar, I haven't been here since I returned from my vacation in France. I asked the guard what I was doing here, but all he told me is to get my Arkadian Passport like every new hopeful new IFN soldier applicant.

Inventory empty and with too many questions to have answered I make my way to the passport official. Upon hearing my name he goes through some files and hands me a letter that could have come from no other place than the IFN Medical department. I roll my eyes, this is not the first time a soldier had been wronged by the incompetence of the medical team on this planet.

    Angel Lizzy Storm,

We are sorry to inform that due to a glitch in the Arkadian Teleportation System(™) on Planet Arkadia(™) you have received some negative adjustments.

The glitch in the Arkadian Teleportation System(™) resulted in a loss of your persona information. Upon retrieval to recreate your persona in another location, we discovered it was corrupted from a few Oratan attacks ago. Due to these unfortunate events we were unable to reconstruct you fully to your known persona, so we requested the help of some sculptors to help fill in the physical gaps.

Since the Arkadian Medical Department(™) are not cleared to see or edit Combat and Survivability Training Statistical Chips(™) we were unable to recover your knowledge of Planet Arkadia(™) and your gained skills. This also resulted in a forced name change to avoid further corrupted data.

    Best regards,

    Dr. Prof. A. Morsé,
    Medical professional,
    Arkadian Medical Department(™)

Wait... So everything I have done in the last few years is lost? I may need to get professional help.

    End of Log,
    Lizzy Storm.

PS: At least the picture on my new passport is acceptable.

So, this is me starting at the beginning. Frankly this is actually liberating and refreshing. I am not pushed to battle fierce creatures to keep the lands safe, I can practice on puny creatures. And the longer I hunt the more I feel it's all just muscle memory.

    There were a few things on my list that I wanted to get done as soon as possible;
1 - Re-aquire all teleport locations dispite the recent technical error that effected me.
2 - Do the New Arrivals tasks in order to get some freebies.
3 - Hunt creatures in the 'puny' catagory.

    (1)
This was not as easy at it seemed. In the communications systems I found a friendly colonist who was sharing his maps of Planet Arkadia with locations of teleporters and creatures noted down on them. I took one digital map and two afternoons and found all of them teleporters.

Easy was often an understatement. I only had my hoverpod (squeel, freebie!) to find the teleporters, and sometimes there were creatures in my way that had the ability to blow up my hoverpod as if I was in a vitage Michael Bay movie.
And then you had the hills that the hoverpod could not climb because the engine haves as much power as the sneeze of a mouse.

I did see some sights that were quite out of the ordinary while I was traveling. There were small oratan miner camps in the desert which an unskilled colonist would be best to avoid. Also I saw a crashed ship in the Northen Freeze, I tried to come close but there were people there guarding what looked like IFN supplies. The crew around it did not seem to be members of the IFN. I got killed on sight and had my first reanimation since the medical accident.

    pvp4 1.png pvp4 2.png

I also noticed my memory has been affected by my rebirth. A lot that I see or experience feels more of a dèja-vu than a new memory.

    (2)
Seriously, who does not love a freebie? It took me some time but I no longer walk around in a onesie and I got a few free weapons and ammo to go with it to wreck some menacing puny's. Not only that, but I also finished my mentoring! An old friend of mine offered to refresh my memory on Arkadia and much more, so currently I got an Adjusted Musca Armor set and a nice spare vehicle for when my hoverpod inevitably breaks in 10 years from now.

I also completed the second IFN new arrivals mission, and I am now a private assigned to Valiant Firebase and the next picture will show you what I replaced my onesie with.

    Valiant.png

    (3)
I have been hunting Carabok in the 'puny' catagory. Mission finished, got the t-shirt, got the mug and a nice global.

    Carabok.png

What I did notice is that this is the go-to creature for a lot of colonists to hunt. I had an evening where I had to resort to different hunting grounds because there was not a single Carabok in sight! Hunting them between INF Supply Depot and Resolute Firebase was a good temporary replacement for the Celeste Quarry spawn.

Now that the hunt is done I got loot to sell, which might take me some time. I don't mind, I got the next creature on my list already and it is the Arkadian Hornet.

    End of log,
    Lizzy Storm

    Hunting Results;
    -124,41 (86,14%) returns on 16600 Carabok.
-101,37 (88,71%) returns with estimated extra income from MU.

Not long after my last log entry I heard rumors about a venomous plant near Valiant Firebase, my assigned firebase. I wanted to investigate, but got caught up in reports about an impending Oratan attack and chose to prepare for that. F*ck investigating plants, I'm a hunter, I shoot things.

So it all started one day before the actual Oratan Attack on Repulse Firebase. The IFN spies reported that the Oratan seem to be preparing for yet another attack on one of our bases. Derek Bossman Knowles, one of the higher ups at the IFN, made the announcement on the Arkadia communication channel. Only briefly did he mention it and asked some privates to come join him for further investigation. After that I did not hear a word.

The next day around 18:00 we got a panicked Mr. Bossman in the communication channel stating that the Oratan were about to attack Repulse Firebase. Prepared as I was I went there, and shoot like there was no tomorrow. The Oratan were heavily armed as you can see from the images below.

2016-07-15 -- Oratan Lancer Notable 2748 PED .jpg 2016-07-15 -- Oratan Lancer Prime 1244 PED .jpg 2016-07-15 -- Oratan Lancer Titan 1696 PED .jpg 2016-07-15 -- Oratan Lancer Titan 3062 PED .jpg 2016-07-15 -- Oratan Miner Looter 837 PED .jpg 2016-07-16 -- Oratan Lancer Glorious 588 PED .jpg 2016-07-16 -- Oratan Lancer Illustrious 842 PED .jpg 2016-07-16 -- Oratan Lancer Immortal 981 PED .jpg

The first attack was short, and there we not many people to defend Repulse Firebase, but we did successfully. The second attack more rookie and veteran IFN members joined the defensive ranks. They all wanted a piece of the Oratan.

Today, the second day of the Oratan attacks, it has been quiet. The whole day everyone has been ready to engage the Oratan for a second day. I have been spending most of my time hunting. Trying to get better, stronger, back to who I once was. But for now, we are waiting, looking over the desert sands for any signs of enemy contact.

Now a venomous plant sounds interesting & different - where abouts are they Lizzy?
I did turn up at Repulse to fight Orotans, seemed 2 run my ammo right down :( So I left it to the heroes & I hid.
I need all my ammo to kill prospectors for IFN rank & eventually a Dropship \o/

Eventually, the Oratans did returns for some vengeance. I was ready, everyone was ready. Our counter worked fantastic. We were fighting the Oratan so well that their attack only lasted an hour before they gave up.

    pic 3.png

So, this venomous plant, I have to rectify; 'Toxic plant'. I set out from Valiant Firebase with my helicopter only to find out I had to wiggle around to make the perfect landing as the bloody plant was on top of a pointy hill. Or does one call it a mountain? Geography is not my expertise.

    pic 4.png
I am not sure how the scientists on Arkadia even made the discovery. There is nothing of interest around here, and this is not the type of location anyone would just go. Nonetheless, I am making this information public so that more people investigate this plant because why-o-why does a soldier have to investigate this? A SOLDIER. I SHOOT THINGS! And that is what I did.

    pic 5.png

I may or may not been hit by the toxic residue. I don't know. Maybe I need help. Come have a look to see if I need some medical attention after that toxic splash.

    pic 6.png

If you find anything that indicates my health is compromised, I look like this and slaying Halix.

That's very interesting! Both your adventures and about the plant. Did you get any loot from it? Or anti-toxin or anything like that?

Nothing seemed to happen after I shot the plant apart from it exploding in my face. Not sure if it has any negative side effects for the future.

If that plant propagates I do hope it's not just on that peak. I can only imagine the chaos when hunters and/or others gather on this very small peak to interact with it.

Log entry: Halix, Halix and more Halix!
    Log date: July 23rd, 3013

Did I tell you I like to show off? I don't think I did.

Last week I have spend most of my time hunting Halix. The big ones. Well, for any seasoned hunter the big ones are still puny mobs. And the same seasoned hunter could probably do better then I have!

    So, final score of the week is as followed;

    halix.png

So far I did a total of 26 runs, most of them of 300 kills. Returns? 98,22% with a 78,45ped loss. Well, after getting very lucky at the last Oratan attack, I don't have anything to complain about!

In other news, it did not seem that the Toxic Plant did any harm to me, but it did to another colonist. It must be because I was wearing armor and this other colonist didn't. The hives that she got, I'm sorry lady, but if you and Frankenstein competed against each other in a beauty contest, I'm sure who's NOT going to win.

I barely scratched the surface on the Halix mission stage 5, so I need to get back to it. I will report in sooner or later with more news about my progression, or lack thereof. It all depends on what the planet will give me.

Also, let my current returns inspire you! There currently is a bounty on Halix for an intact "Halix Skull". This entrepreneur that is looking for one is offering 1000ped for a single skull!

    End of log,
    Lizzy Storm

What I'd love to see is that my last post spurs people into hunting (read: farming) Halix. The bounty is great and the returns aint that bad. I have sold some Halix hides and Tails and some fruits I found, so technically returns are even better than posted.

There just needs to be one single player in the right place at the right time to loot that Halix Skull and cash in those 1000ped. I'm looking forward to that time! (and so does Starkiller)

I will not continue hunting Halix after stage 6, but you never know what can happen!

Done stage 6 Halix several times :) Incidentally, I found that you get more points per ped of ammo spent from the lower maturities than the higher ones.

That is correct, it is cheaper to do the missions (stage 1-5 or stage 6) on low maturities than on high maturities. I personally still prefer to hunt high maturity creatures. Yes it is more volatile, but it can also be more rewarding. Each to their own.

I have been reading through my old logs. One of the things I cannot recall for the life of me are my pets. Nigel the Nusul and Bob the Bristlehog. I have no idea where they are and hope they are either in good hands or released back into the wild where they can be happy with friends.

It made me think though, would it be ethical if I adopt a pet now and bring it with me while I am slaying whatever I got a mission for? Or am I best off letting it be what it is?

    ranged dmg ass.png

For some personal milestones so to say, I reached 103 health, I got a new skill and I am on stage 5 of the Halix mission distributed by the IFN. Before the accident from the IFN Medical I was already passed this stage, difficulty, of hunting. I did far more dangerous stuff, including infiltrating the Smuggler ranks as per order of the IFN. Today, it's Halix. Tomorrow, it will be more Halix. Probably 2 or 3 more weeks and then I am done with Halix and can move on to another mission.

Every time I hunt Halix, I see a half shot one walking around. It's annoying. We're here to kill the beast that attack our bases and colonists, were not here to give them prolonged suffering.

There is still no Halix Skull found, so I am praying upon Lootius that I will find it before the end of my mission. Of course I will be happy for the person that finds it first, but as a human being I am greedy. GL with the bounty fella's~!

    End of log,
    Lizzy Storm

    WARNING
: Currently Rutol (natural stone, found by walking) is at an all time high price (0,20-0,25pec per piece). There are people trying to buy stones at 3-4ped/k hoping they get ultra cheap Rutol. Watch what you are selling/trading!

So that's why there were talks about Rutol a few days ago; where to find it etc. I have never found Rutol anywhere so assumed it was found on Calypso only.

About pets... wouldn't that be a lot of hassle? Feeding, training, walking... Wouldn't it interfere with your hunting? You do like hunting. Like... reeaally like hunting.
