I thought I'd smack this in here because this is always a good subject to talk about. arkadia is just one of those planets that just has something about it that attracts people to it. perhaps it's the hunting? The loots? Hof? Globals? or the friendly kind people? or maybe it's some of the housing that are located throughout arkadia in astonishing areas. Whatever it might be there's something that we all like and love about Arkadia. So what do I like and love about Arkadia? Well it's a little bit of everything. I have traveled to every planet in EU and have spent time on every one of them, but when I came to Arkadia there was just something about it that I really enjoyed and liked. I guess you could say it has a certain charm to it. The beautiful landscape, The awesome location, as well as the hunting and beautiful housing locations are some things that attracted me to Arkadia. if ur wondering who i am my in game name is Skyrow (Tommy Skyrow Marith) if you ever see or hear a green Carabo textured chopper flying around, chances are it's me xD. my favorite place in arkadia is Celeste Harbor where I bought my first apartment and a great place to go boating. I enjoy hitting the water I'm checking out some of the underwater mobs indoor flying around in my Chopper looking for mobs to hunt. Aaaa yes Arkadia really has that Outdoorsman feel to it. So what are some things you guys enjoy and love about Arkadia?
There are a tons of thing I love about Arkadia, but I don't want to cover too many of them and exhaust the subject for others - hahaha, so I'll try to stick with only a few main things: - first of all, the planet has a theme and a story... is not just a lot of random unrelated stories thrown around without making any sense like it happens on other planets; - next thing is that it is actively developed and the devs are actively listening and communicating with the players... since I joined the game it was the planet that added most content, constantly organizes events (tailored towards any level of players); - it is newbie friendly and it has a nice and logical progression from one mob to another; - it is alive and active, yet not crowded and it pretty much has anything you may want (unlike some other planets) - loot pvp, no loot pvp, planetside mining, indoor mining, oil rig, low level mobs, high level mobs, mob free areas for mining, etc - it has a nice and living community But, most at all, it feels like HOME... it was, is and always be the place where I'll love to be in EU.
I love the scenery, it's a really beautiful and very well designed planet. Many of the mobs are perfect for my level, and they all give loot with some markup on it, and not just ammo/shrapnel. If the Aakas instances was like they were in the beginning, then Ark would possibly be my 'home' planet.
I fell in love with Arkadia as soons as I set my foot there. It actually brought me back to Entropia Universe after years of pausing (I started out in Spring 2004). For me it's the scenery, the colours, the plants glowing in the dark. I love mining there, but I like hunting, too. First my heart was set on Sanctuary cove, but now I like several areas very much: the desert, the Eastern Coast. Only recently I got an apartment in Celeste Harbour North to underline my becoming an Arkadian. I really do love my new apartment, the view from the window, the flowers outside the window and the busy shopping area of Celeste City. The shops there are mostly in good shape and the owners care about them. I sneak into other appartments to see how the owners have decorated them or what they did with their roof terraces. I love this flourishing Celeste City, built on water, with waterfall, café and shops teeming with life. But you are right: it is difficult to pinpoint what it is excactly that makes Arkadia so attractive. It has the right size, a lot of love for details. Now I consider Arkadia my "home", although I occasionally return to Calypso.
The Pros: The A-team is in touch with the player base. They understand what a player wants and the special missions are well executed. For example: The new player experience is the second best in entropia (Hunt the thing is imo still the best new player experience, because of the cinematic approach) , too bad the hoverpod has motion decay. The disciple armor is the coolest armor for a disciple to get when they graduate The viceroy mission is a really cool mission too with a reward that will Always be useful in a players years to come The daily oratan prospector mission ultimately leading to the cool vehicle is another The smuggler mission could be the ultimate mission if more ingredients were dropping Treasure hunting is another cool addon, which no other planet has. Unlimited weapon drops even when non-sib (gravis) is a welcome feature, and something players appreciate The Cons: The planets diversity in terms of areas or plant life could be improved . At some point you get tired of seeing the same teletubby greenish hills, and 20 different named mobs who basically are the same with a different name and a different colour. Calypso owns Arkadia in terms of biodiversity. Because of this I am Always a visitor and long to visit another planet after a week or two. Old Calypso had its mystery objects and still does to a certain extent with the robot invasion and different robot bases( hadesheim crater). You don't know what's going on in the middle of hadesheim and that gives a lot of excitement. The oratan simply don't match the robots in terms of "a force to be reckoned with".
Main reason am at Arkadia often, more often then anywhere else, is cos the developers and / or representatives are active in the forum, and even in the Planet itself. Of course it helps that most people I have met in Planet Arkadia have been kind of cool
Awesome guys i'll agreed that the Staffing for Arkadia is pretty decent hopefully if the developers are reading this this will give them some additional motivation to keep up the good work and who knows maybe we'll see the map grow bigger in time and see more areas pop up more buildings and housing.
I have only been to Caly (2-3 months), Cyrene (1 week) and Ark (3 years minus 9-13 weeks) so I can't make fair comparisons. But... I love Arkadia for its small mobs that you can actually profit from. With a small investment you can sustain low level playing for quite some time. The player base is mostly friendly and the A-team is involved more than what the Caly team seems to be. Auds... love them! I know I will love the graphics one day but for now I have to deal with Low mode due to computer incompabilities. Oh and I love that mobs are spread out in different locations. That way we avoid clusters of players fighting for mobs. Cons Only ONE Arkadian Powerfist is available. Still using the S.I Psy-Blade.
Well, I actually don't "love" anything about the planet. But most of the planet is "good" or good enough. I see some people say they like the landscape, I don't really agree, it's not bad, but I think Calypso have a lot better landscape. Oh, one thing I actually love is the designed shops, even if I don't have my own design I like how other shop-owners have customized their shops, it thinks like that that makes the game more fun.
