Competition Golden Week 2016

No, Skill pill bonuses persist past death and log off, and the timer counts down only when logged on. Last time I used a lot of 5hour pills but I would take a break every couple of hours. The only issue was I really had to to log off once I had taken care of loot or waste the skilling time. So no hanging around to talk or do a crafting session etc.

 

i know i can log out during it, but still it forces me to keep on hunting the next 5h i'm logged in if i dont wanna waste it
i prefer doing other stuff too when i'm logged than just brainlessly grind

 

there´s no mention of a mission. no skill rewards either, only skill pills for points...

Yeah, would be nice if this can be officially confirmed or disproved.
If the Magurg breeder mission chain is still on, it will be a good incentive for all of us who know we don't stand a chance of winning.

I also think getting 5 x A10 1mg would be better than getting 1 x A10 5mg. That's why I did Gold Rush in cat 1 last time.
Maybe the officials can arrange a post-event pill exchange where we could trade 5mg for 5 x 1 mg?
Also, start time is midnight April 29th, so that makes 8pm ET Thursday for those of us in the Americas?

 

It is very sad to see that, for practical reasons, low level people cannot participate in this event. Those with no graduation yet (say 95 HP and 10 dps weapon) and no decent armor cannot face a 20h event where the main goal is to kill a mob of 110 HP and 16 dmg. If such information is correct, how many people are, de facto, excluded because of that?

 

what "type" of dmg do the mobs do again?

 

Damage types iirc was imp/cut/stab in equal proportions.

Of course you can, nobody is excluded. The mob in cat 1 can be tackled with these stats. But for f*'s sake, it is a COMPETITION...

 

If you've got the peds for 20 hrs of shooting, you can probably spare a little to buy some low level armour as well. Even musca is going to cut that 16 pts of damage by 7. Move up to corvus for 11 pts of close protection or add pulsar 1 for another 9 pts.

But an event like this going to cost you peds if you are going to go the distance. You aren't going to be able to sell all your loot straight away so unless you are looking to TT it (bzzt - wrong answer), plan to fund all of your participation in the event and then recoup some costs afterwards.

 

Well i was like 4-5 laser pistoler on last gold rush and i knew i could not win but at least i had fun for 1 long month of event and ended in lvl 20 laser pistoler and the mob in cat 1 hardly hit so u can fap after 2 or 3 kills.

 

Last Gold Rush I ran Cat 1 in CDF Scout armor and did not have any problems.

 

I have a technical question about Cat. 1; If one starts with 124 HP and skills enough to go over 125 HP, is said person still able to continue in Cat. 1.?

Another question, it is probably just me, but why the random apartment numbers? Why not apartment #1, #2 and #3?

the requirement is to start lower than 124.9. you can skill over it and not get bumped out.

 

So, now that I'm selling out, chipping away skills, I could buy ESI to go below that HP limit, and chip everything back in and go with the highest gun possible?
Not that I'm going to do that, I am against cheating, but would there be something done in case that is possible and some players decide to cheat that way?
