    Hey everyone :)

Last night I decided to travel to Arkadia from Calypso, and I'll say it's quite nice. Although first impression: it's empty. Been to a few different TPs, both yesterday and today, haven't seen more than a dozen people altogether... despite seeing lots of shops around. Is the planet generally pretty empty and quiet, or have I just not been around enough? I know it'll be quieter than Calypso of course, although I was hoping for a little more activity than what I've seen.

I really like the feel of the planet and might consider selling my Caly apartment and moving here, just a little worried about little activity. I plan on getting a shop or booth on whatever I decide to call my home planet, I really do like the Arkadia shops but again not sure if there's enough people here for it to be worth it :p

I didn't originally plan on staying, just wanted to spend maybe a few days here, but I like it! Left most of my stuff on Calypso though so I'd have to dump what I have now in storage and take a trip back to grab the rest of it. Didn't run into any pirates the last time which was nice.

Oh, also... "I found the secret and my adventure starts now" :D Was hoping for something a bit more exciting from that code haha but oh well.

Any tips on what to do and what to check out here on Arkadia? I'm mainly a trader so I don't do much hunting or mining. Is there any area equivalent to Twin Peaks on Calypso?
Originally I wanted to come here to try and sell some of my artwork and also design things for people. Is there any market for this here?

Thanks guys, I really am hoping Arkadia has enough to offer so I can make it my home base :)

Welcome Jason; it is a little quieter than usual right now... not entirely sure why. I hate to say it, but this is not good place for a Trader, unless you have some specialized niche. The economy on Arkadia reflects the player base number and activity.
Others may be better on advising about trading as I know very little about this profession.

If you don't hunt or mine, I'm afraid you won't have a lot of fun; in all truth, this is a GREAT place but a little quiet... which some (myself included) find desirable. There a lot of interesting mission; there is the Arkadia Underground as well as Sal'diresh and Aakas Instances; one of the nice things is Treasure hunting which brings some variety to the regular activities.

By the way... you may want to check Celeste Quarry; if it's empty there, than we have an issue :).

Maybe that would be a suitable challenge - to get trade going. It is slower that on Caly but people do trade. Quarry seems to pick up late European evenings, especially on weekends.

You know I think I'll do that, I always like a good challenge. Arkadia is growing on me, already moved my stuff over, all I gotta do now is sell my apartment to clear up some extra PED and I'll be good to go.

I keep hearing stuff about sound issues... what exactly is wrong? All the sounds have been working fine for me.

Usually (for me at least) sound is *sometimes* available for a few minutes right after logging in, then it just goes away. Sometimes it re-appears after using a TP to some remote area, but then goes away again.
It seems to vary for each gamer.

Hm, well this would definitely turn away people... I'll have to do some more exploring to see if I encounter the issue. I do run my settings on high.

Well, I have now experienced the no sound problem. Seems like sound only works in cities.

Try to stick it out. Arkadia is well worth it, in my opinion.

Yeah I agree, doesn't really bother me a whole lot anyway, mainly because I don't do things you'd really want sound for, like hunting. And most the areas I've gone have sound anyway, so. But it definitely is a big issue if we want to attract more people to Arkadia, because it's a huge turn away for a lot of people.

Speaking of trading... if you're in need of basic hunting stuff for whatever reason feel free to let me know. I'm a pack-rat. I save everything in case I can find a buyer later on. I'm European (UTC +1) and usually play mornings & afternoons during weekends (sometimes early weekday evenings).

Welcome to Ark, I came from calypso too, and it is a bit empty but it seems to have more of a frontier feel to the place. I'm mining most days so if you are in the quarry I'll come and see you, got to the point where I'm stockpiling ores/treasure until it's worth selling on auction.

In some ways it's more enjoyable here because it takes a bit more effort and thought to make a few extra ped. I was getting bored on Caly due to the ease of mining and then selling at twin peaks endlessly. Oh and the sound is variable all over the place.
