    Hello,

I was wondering if any of you could give me interesting activities to undertake in Entropia Universe while avoiding the gambling systems as much as possible.
After experiencing Entropia for a good week i've come to the conclusion that i wish to play differently that most people. For i have not much interest in getting skilled in hunting mining or crafting. Or even any other profession that requires me to invest.

What i am interested in however are investing in AUD so i can afford future daily gamblings and skilling, but mainly i just enjoy exploring, finding cool clothes/outfits, joining ingame parties and chatting up.

I've noticed sweating is a somewhat interesting group experience but many players choose to do this afk so the chats are often not very interesting making the whole sweating process rather dull.

In a different game that i played named Elder scrolls online, it was possible to do fishing.. whereas the more people would actively be fishing in the same pond, it would increase the potential of catching a rare fish.
Fishing itself in ESO is a nonprofit activity which is fun because it is very hard to find all the rare fish to finish the achievements.
So groups of players come together, research where to go to get what fish and off you are for a nice group activity!

So far i have not really experienced this kind of challange in Entropia, while i do think the universe has potential to make something like this work?
or maybe there already is something like this and i'm just not finding it? :)

I like the parallel things on entropia, like complainging. There's a lot to complain about:
    -the ridiculous designed interface
    -the outrageous ammount of pets
-the mix of tameables with mobs that aren't their kind
    -the baddly designed missions
-and people #1 favorite, the loot

i do sincerely believe that there is a kinship to find in complaining about common entropian issues :)

And no one is more highly skilled in complaining!!! (although most of your points are valid).

Its tough to find a fun group to do stuff with on a regular basis. The afking in the sweatgroups.... yeh, some time ago there was a group doing that where people talked, had fun and just sweat for hours with most of them being active. Now it just seems to be a complete afk fest at Outpost. However, you could try going to 8Coins Windy Isle sometimes. There is a sweatcircle there once a day for an event called the SSI. Usually decently active. Weekdays at 21.00, weekends at 15.00 game time.
Another group is on the Tuesday at Outpost, the one from David Westmoreland. He does a radio show combined with a circle usually, starting at 15.00 till 18.00.

radio parties are always fun. no cost to hit the dance emote and chat away while listening to some good music. I think on tuesdays ahr does a party for the sweaters :)

Sweating is the closest to what you want... I believe; if you hang out long enough, you get to know the "chatty" people better, when they're online and then you can have some fun.
One other option is to find a suitable Society with like-minded individuals; the you can chat and do whatever else you like at the same time. But... you have to be careful and find the right Soc as there are many people not very fond of chatting all time.
Also, did you try the Rookie channel? Sometimes I watched it and it's pretty animated.

As far as activities, you could find others with the same interest, form a "search party" line and go for fruits and stones.

The only time I've visited the oil rig on Ark it seemed like the riggers were pretty chatty & surprisingly easy going.
Though they seemed to be in a Mexican standoff just waiting for a barrel o' crude to drop.

Hmm on second thought it doesn't meet 2 of your requirements because PvP is expensive and conversations are probably best kept short. :p

On a serious note everyone covered the subject really well imo.
But do watch for the rare poster event. That's when Ned the smuggler hides a few posters all over, it's a crazy scavenger hunt.
Also do you have all the teleporters yet? If not then getting a few people to walk/run with you to a new TP can be fun.
For a real challenge make it a no shoot or vehicle TP run and you'll have some laughs too. ;)

Buy a few cld. They pay more than aud. Use peds from that to do low level stuff.

Its been like that every time I've been there (not that I've spent a lot of time there).
But definitely friendlier than Caly rig.

And who doesn't love free peds.....

I love free peds, I just don't like the imposition for pvp. I would say if there was no oil, pvp areas would be a ghost zone (or already are). Not meaning to offend anyone but in my oppinion just idiots go waste ammo on pvp.

If you are on caly, you can wander around endlessly looking for fruits and dung etc, or go to the small caly oil rig and stand in a queue, they have their own chat channel.

Don't know about Ark, I haven't been here long enough

Repair skilling on a mothership. It costs a little money, but much less than beginning at the crafting machine and is more rewarding than sweating. Everything is steady and secure, no gambling at all. The skills built up you can use to proceed to crafting with better returns, e.g. clothes if this is what interests you. You meet nice people to chat with and learn a lot.

    Well.

A few ped for alot of laughs is not much. I had a blast at Caly rig messing with the others. Sole time I've laughed out loud in here.

Just because you don't see a reason for it, doesn't make people who do so idiots.
