your own level of captain counts towards the title of your quad.. so when you sit in it, it can change the title. so when you get out of it.. it goes back to whatever title it had based on it's own karma.
Have you ever kicked anyone out of your quad? this will change your title..I get it all the time now due to this and yes no longer kick pick out as well (when picking my quad up in the air)
No hunting and not kicked anyone, worst that might have happened few months ago was a client crash on space. I think the main question is, how this affect me in game?
Killing players in space gives you negative karma points. Killing creatures in space gives you positive karma points. So karma points that differ from the default amount every player starts out with will change the title of the ship. I currently do not know if there is a way in game to check your karma.
AND - Kicking people out of quad when landing as well. I found this out the hard way since I always would pick up my quad while landing that would kick the passenger out of quad.
You sure? If I'm not mistaken, both passengers captain level adds to the ships title, meaning, that if one leaves the ship the status goes down.
Not sure but all I know is my quad has very bad karma and I don't even have a gun on it. Oh let the rumors start!
It did work as WhiningSkeptic says, at least before VU & doubt MA changed how it works... I'd bought my beater Quad 2nd hand. Obviously selling did not reset the title for me. With zip for pilot skills & no captain rank, the ship's title changes even when I sit in it. And changes again when any passenger hops in. And again if I hop out but passenger is in it. So...
