FINALLY! Blueprint Comprehension. 300K Welding Wire, 6 RK-5's, and 18 Hours of actual Repair Time.

    Vehicle Technology - Newbie - 1 +963 (964)

    Intelligence - 18 +18 (36)

    Electronics - Inept - 13 +598 (613)
    Engineering - Green - 223 +713 (936)
    Mechanics - Mediocre - 74 +517 (591)

    Blue Print Comprehension - 0 +12 (12)

105.10 PED Invested for 5,007 Skills (18 of that Attributes) for a Cost of 00.0210 per Skill.

Once back on Arkdia I will do another Small Run (1.00 PED) of Explosive Ammo, to take a look at Success Rate and Results.

You may not be aware of this but the success rate has been lowered to around 27% or less instead of ~35% (33-38). So at the moment it is unwise to craft anything.
And it may be in your best interest to craft items to sell instead of crap bps like filter, xpl, etc. There are many ark component bps that you can craft to sell so look into them.

Man, wth are these guys doing screwing with the Success Rate of Crafting? It was already low enough.

Don't they realize the major economy happens because Crafters buy the stuff Hunters and Miners gather? Well, less PED flow for everyone, awesome.

I'm rocking one sexy 100.00 QR/CD, and my Skills help it get to an 81.8% SR (From the Original Post, for comparison.)

Well that is now a 100.00 QR/CD, and a SR of 93.1%. So a much improved rate there. :D

So I tossed a PED in, and let's see what comes out this time.

    LAST TIME on 50 Attempts:
    Statistics
    Total # Attempts: 50
Success Percentage: 18.0% (I'm usually between 18% and 26%, so this was a bad streak on a short run.)

    Item Count
    2014 Explosive Projectiles (0.20 PED)
    16 Nanocube (0.16 PED)
    2 Metal Residue (0.02)

    Total 0.38.

    0.62 Loss, 38% Return

    THIS TIME on 50 Attempts
    Statistics
    Total # Attempts: 50
    Success Percentage: 20.0%

    Item Count
    2813 Explosive Projectiles (0.28 PED)
    15 Nanocube (0.15 PED)
    20 Metal Residue (0.20 PED)

    Total 0.63.

    0.37 Loss, 63% Return.

So while not magic, we can see it is MUCH better to Skill in Space investing 0.02 PEC per Skill, THEN come back to Craft (or stay in Space longer, if you can afford it, to really level up those Professions).

    Space is cheaper yes.

Crafting skillgains are expensive compared to other professions. At current my highest hunting profession is 52 and I've cycled about 100-150 thousand ped hunting while my highest crafting profession is 33 I believe (VSE 39 but doesn't count) after cycling well over a quarter of a million.

    Crafting is expensive.

I'll give you the same advice I give others; Once you have your equipment professions around 10, start following the markup of crafted components such as wires, metal sheets and screws and the materials needed to craft them.

The components used for L1 light, L1, L2, L2 light, L3 and L5 amplifiers skyrockets the days someone like me decides to do a few thousand clicks.

By keeping an eye on the market for these materials and components it is possible to profit crafting them at a low level. It takes some commitment and patience though. I would however only advice you to do this if you happen to stay on Caly for a couple of days.

Okay, now I'll add the TT Value of the Skill Gains, I won't be putting MU% as (1) it fluctuates and (2) all of these skills are not always on the AH to show an MU%. Also I removed Intelligence, since you can't Sell Attributes. The first Value is the Value if you 'Chip Out', so not the 'ESI Needed' Value, only the Final Value. The Second Value is the "ESI Needed" or 'True' Value, useful if you are NOT chipping out and merely want to see how valuable your Gains were. Also Note, I am only 'chipping out' to my Original Values... so VR was 1 when I started and I go from 1855 to 1, where as Engineering was already 223, so I go from 936 to 233.

    Vehicle Repairing - Newbie - 1 +1854 (1855) 8.77 PED/9.74 PED
    Vehicle Technology - Newbie - 1 +963 (964) 2.86 PED/3.17 PED

    Electronics - Inept - 13 +600 (613) 1.53 PED/1.69
    Engineering - Green - 223 +713 (936) 2.41 PED/2.68
    Mechanics - Mediocre - 74 +517 (591) 1.38 PED/1.53 PED

    Blue Print Comprehension - 0 +12 (12) 0.02 PED/0.02 PED

105.10 PED Invested for 5,007 Skills (18 of that Attributes) for a Cost of 00.0210 per Skill, and a TT Return of 16.97 TT in "Skills Chip Out", which would include the Loss of Skill when you convert to ESI Chips. Or you can look at the 18.83 TT worth of ESI Needed Value, or True Gain (as you don't suffer a loss for keeping skills, only for chipping them out to sell).

So that 105.10 PED invested actually returns 18.83 PED TT value of Skills. While that doesn't sound like much, some of these skills go for 2.5K% MU to 4K% MU (such as the Range that Evade usually sells in). Let's 'play safe' and say these go for 1,000% MU%. We can ONLY use the Chip Out (1st Value) Pricing here.

87.77, 28.60, 15.30, 24.10, 13.80 and 0.20. 169.77 is the Value with an Average of 1,000% MU, BEFORE calculating the Cost of the ESI and AH Fees, and without tossing out the BPC which likely wouldn't be worth selling in such a small amount, and assuming ALL of these 6 Categories would have Willing Buyers.

So you can see, when you take MU% into consideration, you actual PAY YOURSELF to hit the MS and Repair. I turned 105.10 of PED into an estimated value of 169.77 PED in Skills.

Anyone who knows more about Skills and how they Sell feel free to chime in on this part. Many thanks!
