Actually, it is now more of a 'find certain mobs if you can, then kill them' mission.

Remember, not only are there more days per promotion but the 'pyramid' format of the spawn with Puny's at the bottom and Menace's at the top (?) makes it a double whammy!

But this may actually be the whole point. Perhaps a definitive statement from the A-Team as to the principle behind the mission. It may well be a "yes, we know there are very few of 'x' maturity - that is the point. it is going to take a long time - this is a serious mission set and we reckon the higher the rank, the fewer people are going to have the staying power to complete it" - so just as the spawn is pyramid shaped, so is the rank makeup and I agree, there shouldn't be 500 Generals running around.

But right now, all this can hardly be for the skill needed to kill these Prospectors so there must be, I hope, some ultimate 'prize' in the background (UL armour set maybe - how about an "Imperial Combat Officers Armour", even if account bound) otherwise this just becomes another ped-fest with associated bragging rights to say what rank you are. Even then there's nothing for others to see - no rank insignia etc.

I really would like this mission to end up meaning something. Not holding my breath yet though

My problem with the way the missions are set up is you to stick to one low level mob for the entire mission chain, which becomes boring. You won't have time for other, more interesting mobs if you follow these daily missions seriously, since they take so long. So... I guess what I'm saying is these missions are fine for low level players who can't think of anything better to do in game and have unlimited amounts of time that they would otherwise spend hours sweating or standing around dancing, but for me, it's too monotonous. It seems to me that a rank mission should involve more skills than basic newbie hunting skills.

Instead of being a badge of achievement, it seems to be more of a badge of "I like doing boring repetitive things for hours every day".

If it was a 30 minute job I would do it and then go on with other stuff but I am finding I need to make a choice between this and the things I would normally do so I am stopped on corporal for now. maybe I make another push if I get bored with my usual routine.

i must agree, I DO them because I really want to know how this pans out...

but I would love it more if the missions were more fun and challenging. What if for the last mission before sergeant you had to kill 1 Yuka?

Or the daily mission today might be "craft 100 carabok leather texture", but the next day you had to kill 500 Oratan.

It would absolutely be more interseting and fun if they made this a bit random. Also would be nice if you got rewarded IFN tokens inw hich you could buy L non-tradeable weapons or items. Or even if they made a token broker - who held the apartments and shops and you had to trade a crazy amount of tokens for a shop/apartment/armor/ what have you

honestly though, as long as I can find time I will make this mission chain my priority, in hopes that at the end there will be an awesome reward like there was for rocktropia's no way out prison for those that finished first

Don't assume every "newbie" has tons of time to play. It usually ends up being coupled with "you live in your mothers basement" (at least on PCF).

(I would stay longer to write what I wanted to but then I'll be late for the bus to work.)

No, please don't. This is not the Jack of All Trades mission chain. IFN should stick to hunting, make other chains for miners and crafters. I can get behind the idea of mixing the mobs up a little though.
