Today I found out that the day/night times are NOT synchronised among the planet. My brother logged onto Arkadia yesterday, I went to meet him ingame and he was in the daylight and I was in nighttime! We were sitting right next to eachother with the computers and we were standing at the same spot ingame, yet I was in daytime and my bro was in nighttime.
Now that I think of it, I never really played together with someone before (since cryengine), maybe this happens on other planets too.....? But that's another topic I guess
Maybe I should have added that even after 2 relogs my or my brothers cycle systematically ran croocked
Thanks for the feedback Dante, we are reviewing the Day/Night cycle this week - planet is a bit dark atm. I'll make sure we look into that.
I both love and hate day and night cyles. I love driving around in the dark with headlights on. But trying to hunt or just walk around or even when you gointo many indoor places it's too dark all the time. I've got old CRT monitors and i feel like i can't play until after dark IRL so i can see whats on my screen.
and that is why we have this thread. http://www.arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?451-Question-Is-optical-gear-possible Why make it lighter when you can have more gear.
I guess it really depends on what kind of display you have. I totally love nighttime, can see everything perfectly fine myself (in windowed mode without adjusting gamma etc) It doesn't seem any darker than Calypso at all, only certain times at Calypso the moon actually produced some purpl/blueish light which made it a little bit lighter in 20% of the cases. I really like how it is now to be honest, but I guess if too many people are having trouble seeing in the dark something has to be adjusted
The planet is really alive in day cycle im loving the green grass blue water... and when the night is comming, im feeling well alone in the night thats really cool, dont change nothing on the deep of the night.. Its really immersive im loving it !
I have been wondering about this also. Night time wasnt just dark, it was like my visor was covered in coal dust, I really had to concentrate while hunting, to the point I gave myself eye-strain, even moved my screen 6 inches nearer. During the day, visibility was still poor, and I convinced myself I was hunting on the shaded part of a valley, however.. changing location was of no help. One session I hunted by having to look through the scope..even on the pistol The only workable solution atm, is whacking the brightness up FULL way on my pc screen, I can now hunt comfortably. Obviously having to adjust this while out of game is a bit of a nuisance. Anyway, apart from that, Im a happy hunter on Arkadia
Tried cranking up your Gamma setting under Graphics in Entropia Options? Might save you having to worry about external stuff till its fixed? EDIT: and BTW, Welcome to PAF I saw you trying to sneak in with that post
Thanks, I saw your rep lol, people keep coming up with new planets and forums to escape me I think...But I will hunt you all down (muhahahaha) :soangry: *anyway, mad-woman mode/off* Err, window mode..I cant play around with the gamma while in that can I?
That's right, gamma settings are disable for everything running in windowed mode (only some really new games seem to have this)
It definitely is, I have to almost close the lid of my laptop at night to see where I'm going and keep my head between the lid and the keyboard, which is a bit uncomfortable. Brighter ToD FTW!!!
