I noticed that oro seem to hit me every time, seems to me their hit rate needs to be adjusted, else all the newcomers will have no chance of every dodging/evading an attack for the next 5 years :)

Also their attack range seems a bit on the high side.

On a plus note: i do like it then when sometimes i kill one, a few other ones start charging me, did you implement some AI on them, or is it just a coincedence?

I was wondering if its a bug in the over all defensive system itself. There are many low level mobs in the 7 to 15 range that seem to never miss and have what seems to be high damage. I have 25.5 evade with avoidance unlocked and a little chipped into it and I donty think a level 9 mob is supposed to be hitting me for 40 points every time.

I cant imagine a new player getting hit with no evade skills at all that would translate to roughly 60 points damage very hit. that is why I believe that its the defence system and not the mobs themselves. I acts just like the armor bug did on Caly except I was not wearing any.

    Yeah, I noticed this too.

I've stoped at 1200 Oro because of this, the hit rate seems to be well over 90%, almost never miss. And their supposed "melee" attack have like 6m range. Also, the L2 Halix hit everytime too. Low level mobs should MISS more than hit right?

Bigger evade means less chance to get hit by a mob, not decreased damage when you inevitably get hit. That being said, it does seem like Oro act like way bigger mobs hitting you more often than anticipated.

Are they actively attacking you (sometimes you kill them before they go into attack modus?) and/or is your evader/dodger profession above level 35?

I experience this as well. Sometimes I get hit alot and sometimes I can kill a few and not get hit at all. Use melee as well on them atm.

Not to start a debate in this thread but higher defensive skills DO lower damages. (calypso comparrison) What Atrax domi used to hit me for in full bear when I mined CND regularly with low evade and what one hits me for now without armor is night and day. I was dieing in full armor and now I dont die in no armor.. Im am positive MA didnt make them hit less or lighter over time...if anything they jacked em up a touch. I can stand toe to toe with atox young and a fap 5 nekkid for over 10 minutes before the coding makes them hit more and harder to prevent afk fap skilling. Couldnt do that in armor whne I started.

Maybe that's because they don't hit you as often?

You are correct though, this is a matter for another thread.

Oro seem a lot like Merp to me. Clearly not as aggressive but low HP and a high hit rate even at lower maturities. If you don't get mobbed they seem easy enough. I've had no trouble killing any Oro I've seen (up to Dominant iirc) without armour, though that's with 200+ HP, 40+ Evader and a gun that often kills a Young in one shot.

Nope, Manny is correct, evader/dodger does not decrease damage, only hit rate. Damage range for mobs is always 50%-100% of maximum before armour. Atrox were heavily adjusted some years ago when the high regeneration mobs were introduced. No debate required :)

I've had no trouble killing oro stalkers with a riker ul2 L, might need to fap a few times without armor. One on one, they sometimes hit about every time, or (especially young) maybe hit only once, with 31+ evade.

Yes and that is exactly the reason why there are no merps at the calypso starting area.....

merps up to roughly old or prvider hit on ocassion with my 25 evade and a litle avoidance chipped in..These oro never miss even the lowest mats. Now I can run away from the smaller oro but cant on smaller merp.

The oro have a way high HA while the merp have the higher agi is what I would think
