We all go trough same proccess. It seemed to me so obvious that i didnt found it necesary to talk about. Trick is - we still dont know almost anything about all mission chain, about scope and goal and mostly about rewards. We can discuss instead about deffinition in game ranks and promotions. You got prtomoted, i got new mission. You got your private card hacked or changed to pass more security sytems, i got still my new mission Think about - with that corporal card you have under your command entire army of privates and lance corporals who obey you and do the mission for you... Well in that case i could agree that rank can mean something. You like to be a general ? - no problem i can call anyone general but we are still on missions with rewards about 2 ped ammo. We are still with sort of NAVY wich gave you private uniform and sort of chip - Access card . NAVY wich give you no food, nowhere to sleep, no other gear and send you practicaly naked without weapon, ammo and healing tools on to killing mission. So, yes sir! Generals, if missions rewards will be good we all are going to have fun.
I'm sorry, I don't get your frustration. This chain was never meant to be blitzed. If I recall correctly, the first time I heard about this in an interview with David, he said it could take two years to become a General, so all along the plan was that this will take a lot of time. Strap in and enjoy the ride, or if you don't enjoy it, just don't do it. Personally, I like the way it's done so far and I actually enjoy the dailies so I'll keep doing them. Maybe there are some plans for more rank benefits apart from the mission rewards and maybe not, I don't really care at this point. Ranks already mean something, you get a mission for a higher level mob. I can understand that 2.4 PED is not the best reward for you, but the whole IFN chain starts as a continuation to the newbie introduction chain so it's meant for newish players. Maybe you'll be more satisfied with mission rewards when you are a Captain or a Major? But someone has to get there first to find out what the rewards are. If you don't want to be the guinea pig just relax for a month or two and check back then. I wouldn't mind some gear and food but I don't know how it could work in this game. Unless the IFN gives you a weapon but confiscates all your loot? Might be fun to do a mission like that once in a while
Im not frustrated. Where do you see my frustration ? Im just surprised that ppl are happy to accept virtual rank promotion as a mission reward in RCE game where all is based on TT + MU. Its so unusual and different from tokens, skill gains, attribute gains and items we have as rewards on other missions. Didnt know that developers planed this chain long a go and seem many didnt know anything about. I got it after VU with passport misssion amd thinked is something new, atleast could not get more info as much i asked arround. So that is - two years of investments and time to get some nice virtual rank name like General? Maybe i must take in consideration your story about guinea pig and just relax a bit.
I have some problems finding my firebase, i dont remember the name. I searched in completed missions and i found only "Welcome to Repulse Firebase". That is my base? I think i complete all the mission chaine, last one was to kill 100 arkadian hornets near to the barbeque man, if i remember well. Then nothing. Now, i'm looking in the IFN terminal and i dont see nothing new. I cannot speak with any of NPC commanders. And another thing, i have the Arkadian Passport but i dont have the Achivement "Citizen of Planet Arkadia". I heard/saw that you need to pay 10k sweat to take the passport, i didnt pay nothing i just took it and left the newbie area. Thanks,
Thanks, that's good news for everyone who had problems with the timing. It's great to see that opinions are considered, and changes can be made. for listening. Though I'm glad there are others who don't have a problem with how these IFN mission chains are done. Tbh I was expecting it was going to be harder: becoming a general takes more than just showing up for work every day? It takes time and dedication. And 'convenience' is not usually named as a defining characteristic of progressing through the military ranks? At the rate we're going, there will be a lot generals in the smallest amount of time possible. So it seems it'll be easier to attain than I thought; perhaps the title will carry less weight than I imagined it would have. Guess my imagination ran wild again... Meh, like everyone else, I'm viewing it from my own position. Since things like "convenience in missions" matter little, if the game wont let you log-in in the first place. But practically seen, aren't these issues a (temporary) result of the chains being newly introduced? - Existing players can do the (lower) missions easily, and can storm through them as fast as possible. For new players there will most likely be a 'waiting time' between the different ranks anyway. I.e. when you just start out you can kill Punies, but most will not be able to kill a higher maturity after 7 days. In that case, 'missing' a day every once in a while wont be such a problem? Also, when you finish a rank, you can start the new maturity mission on the same day. Wouldn't that alone already counter the one day 'delay' (caused by doing the mission a bit later every day)? - Once the big first wave of players have finished the chains, the mobs wont be over-hunted as they are now. So by then it shouldn't be such an issue to find the right maturity? In the mean time I stay a maturity behind the majority. And keep track of the availability, by making a time stamp after finishing a daily, and copying it to a note. (Ofc sometimes the note's content gets deleted by some weird bug, but that's a technical MA issue. ) The concept was first mentioned last year, in an interview with David from Normandie Radio. With some further info in this thread. Nope, you're not finished just yet. The last NPC you talked to, would have told you to go to the AU (Arkadian Underground). So talk to the NPC near the main TP in the AU, to continue the chain. And newborn Arkadians don't need to pay the sweat. That was a 'bribe' the older colonists had to pay for the passport.
Just seemed that way from your post. The reward is the Universal Ammo, the ranking just gives you access to different, higher level, missions. Would you really prefer skills for this? The Thugs and Bandits are very much like small Oro. The reward for killing 75 Oro is 0.10 PED of Rifle skill, so it would be a very small amount of skill that might not be good for a lot of people (unless it's something very general like Dexterity, Courage etc. or we get a choice) 2.4 PED reward is ~5-10% of the cost required to finish the mission (depends very much on the composition of the spawn). I'd say that's very good, makes it possible to break even on TT. I found the actual interview and I got it a bit wrong. Obviously, there were some changes from that time to now but David said exactly this: "60 daily missions is an example, you know, so it's taking you two months to go up one rank. In order to become a General of the IFN, it'll take you a few years." If you want to listen to the whole thing go here: http://www.normandieradio.com/?page_id=308 and pick the interview labeled David Dobson, Planet Arkadia CEO, may 3rd, 2014 part 1 (info about the IFN career missions starts at 35:05)
Ok, so here's a stupid question... running through the IFN mission chain... I'm in the "Protection Inspection" portion and doing the "Inspect the Oratan Village" but can't get the bloody waypoint to update the mission. So this leaves me stuck in this mission at the Oratan Village and no forward movement in the chain... Anyone have any thoughts on how I can get past this point? I've overflown, walked, driven over the waypoint. relogged, untracked and retracked, gone back to aakas and then back out to the village. Nothing seems to get me past this point. Starting to get a tad flustered.
The WP is a bit wonky. You have to walk around the position a bit to trigger it. Having the mission in the first tracked position helps. And there is a picture with the exact spot in this post from Kitten. Most can finish it with that. GL.
Lance Corporal Amos. :biggrin2: Not looking forward to the thugs and bandits (or whatever comes next) after reading everyone else comments. I'm doing the ECO thing. Mass murder is not on the agenda.
ive got a gripe.... its tiny and petty and prolly not worth mentioning.... but i will so my ifn hat.... its got a tt value of 0.1ped, and has visible decay at around 50%... it doesnt take may equips to decay 0.05ped my problem is this, when i finish my hunting i wanna look slick in my funky uniform armor off, outfit on, but the only item that actually gets removed and re-equipped is the hat, and frankly within a day its decayed to a diff color to the rest of my uniform.... it kinda looks sun bleached..... like it was made in some caly sweatshop with sub par materials lol So can the tt value of the hat be raised a bit? , if needed lower the value of the pants/shirt to compensate Reading other posts... this is prolly highly insignificant
Thanks all, gonna give it a try again... snagged the image to load in my pic viewer so i can zoom in a little and hopefully "find the sweet spot" lol
Ok, well, I closed all the other trackers I had open, moving the mission to the #1 spot, and suddenly, everything started working right. mostly. so YAH, I'm chasing down old harry now at the rig.. lol
Just did my first Thug daily. It was fine, took about 25 minutes and I only had to kill about 10 of the wrong maturities. There were a few people there (Implacable spawn) and they seemed to be hunting a mix of maturities which I guess helped a lot.
Aye was there today aswell same spot etc and I´ve the same experience as Oleg, today was a good day...
Hey gang, I said I was assigned to Valiant, but not too sure anymore. Do I need to finish my Recruit training so that I get the "Report to ** Firebase Prive Wolf"?
You're not sure anymore about which FB you're assigned to? Or are you uncertain if you have finished the recruitment in the first place? If you have received the uniform and card with rank, then you have finished the recruitment. Atm there is no way to check in retrospect to which FB you've been assigned. But that has no impact on the availability of the daily Oratan Prospector missions: you can pick them up from any IFN terminal. If you haven't received the "Report to ** Firebase Prive Wolf" message at all; then you may not have done the 'IFN Protection" missions yet. Talk to the NPC (Captain Durham I think) near the main AU TP, to start this last mission chain of the recruitment. GL.
May I have completed the IFN Protection and I'm on my 3rd day on Oratan Prospector Puny for the next rank. Was asking that: if I finish the puny mission after 7 days, will it tell me again to report to my Firebase to get the next lvl up Mission, at the same time reminding me what Firebase I work for
Nope, it wouldn't. If you just forgot your FB name, can't you checked in completed missions? I'm not absolutely sure and can't check now (not on Arkadia ATM), but I think it should be there.
There's a finished mission called 'Report to Assigned Firebase' but it doesn't mention which one. "Report to your assigned IFN Base."
