I think A-team did a great job with the planet. But I wish they would consider changing the terminals. Color coded only is just not good enough. I wish the different terminals would have different shapes so that you would know exactly what you want to click when you are after something, and not looking for a color or a picture on the terminal and try to make a connection in your head with what is supposed to be. Is not a priority. We can live with them the way they are, but it would be so great to have them unique.
I had the exact same opinion when i first came to Arkadia, but it really doesn't take long till you go instinctively towards the right one. After all the Trade, revive and soc terminals in calypso are also the same design, just differently colored.
I love the terminals. I love how there isn't an auctioneer and technician at every outpost, they always looked so lonely. I love how the society and storage terminals don't look like garbage disposals. I love how the repair terminal doesn't look like it'll mechanically bolt my armor together. I love how the crafting terminal doesn't look like it was imported from 1965. I love how the colour codes fit in with the only two terminals I liked on Calypso (revival and TT). I love the terminals.
I love the terminals as well, but mbe there can be displayed something on their screens? like T(rade) R(epair), A(uction), and none on Revival and Society ?
(T)rade terminal and (T)echnician? Anyhow, I'd love to see unity. But I'm guessing you're already working on the trade terminals without logos (i.e. all buy repair and craft)?
I dont mind the terminals I am already used to them. Its the lack of space in the buildings when more then 10 people are in there at the same time. I have already been trapped in the middle with everyone doing their thing at a terminal and no room to walk thru to get out.
I bet that in time you will have people selling stuff to TT that they planned to repair actually if the terminals stay like this. You forget the fact that people end up inside such a place after many hours of hunt/mine or whatever, and they are not as sharp, so mistakes can and I am sure mistakes will be made. From my experience, if something can ever go wrong, it WILL go wrong eventually. Is a matter of time.
I actually really like the terminals as they are now. Simple, yet I find them effective (and quite cool!).
Well two thoughts on this... First isnt the selling part and after run aspects just as important as the professinal aspects? One would think that you need to pay attention at the end of the day just as much as at the start.. Same thing in life things such as work and relationships..You cant just get lazy at the end of the day. So you are correct there will be mistakes made like people tting UL amps or uber guns like in the past..Stay sobe stay alert..its really simple. Secondly 90% of the controls and the way systems are designed to work are made to make us make simple mistakes. Thats how a decent portion of money is made by the Platform owners is from simple every day mistakes. A pec here and there to a player is not much..multiply that by a few k players and it becoes signifgant. Sorta like that 9/10ths of a penny on gas prices. We dont see it but holy crap does that add up fast. (MA latched on to that one with the changes in expendables moving 2 decimals) Bottom line is frst pay attention...second dont play so log you are that tired to not want to read what you are doing... third if you are that bad off at the end of a session for what ever reason save the end game routine for next login. Be smarter then the things you are working with.
the best part of the new terminals is the small post that comes from the top, it lets you click the term when there is a ton of people around it.. cool feature.
What you say is so logic, and makes so much sense, but is so stupid at the same time. I can only be amazed and happy after reading it.
Wow BlackHawk...tell us how you REALLY feel. LOL P.S. I like the terminals as they are. If you start flashing them up and adding a "cool" factor...it'll probably just add LAG. IMHO.
Another tweak that would be welcomed, would be that in the centers with terminals on all sides to swap one of the manufacturing terminals with one of the auction terminals. If you want to have opened multiple terminals at same time (storage+auction+craft+ all you can think of), as it is now you can do it from a specific position, and that is annoying because at times you neglect the fact that you need a specific teminal, and you end up moving to access the other one, then you need something else, and you need to move to reach that. If there would be only one auction and one craft on each side, I think it would easier to access all terminals from one spot, without having to choose a specific narrow spot. PS. Sorry for my last post. But I could not help it. I will behave from now on. I think... Love you all!!! Flower Power!!!
The whole SELL TAB is kind of a dead giveaway for most people. Anyhow, at least for me the whole window blocks up whatever terminal I was looking at, regardless what it looks like.
Some people use high resolution. A 24 inch screen would fit many more windows, and it would be a shame to consider only the option and ergonomics of lower resolution.
