I have seen the facebook post about figurines:

Take a look at these cool figurines you can earn by doing stage 6 hunting missions.

Does anyone know anything about this? I am working on several stage 5 hunting missions but cant find anything about stage 6 missions?

Most mobs have a repeatable Stage 6 mission once you finish Stage 5 (carabok and gallard not included). It will show up in the IFN Terminal. The missions are 60k Killpoint Challenges and offer skills + a non-tradeable figurine.

There's a partial list of what the skill rewards are here.

They were introduced in the 2014.2 (24 June) Update.

I was able to place the one I have in my apartment. Might be it doesn't work in a public place?

As Medeina say, since it's a bound item you need to place it in an estate you own as everything placed on ground can be picked up by anyone.
If you tried to place it in your estate and that didn't work then please create a Bug Report here on the forum

Sorry for the rant here but we need to ask the question: will pets that we tame be tradable? Why are we going to a non-RCE type game here?

    1: yes.
2: maybe because in this case not all achievements should be buyable?

I dont think that possesion of an figurine without any use and purpose except for decoration for those who own LA, house and similar is an achievement.
And in this case is "buyable" because you need to buy appartment or land or other estate, maybe shop etc...to show your "achievement"...

Hmm yes you achieved one slot less in your storage...

Seenig that many "free games" earn a lot by selling skill scrools/ skill bosters, armor improvements, warious poisons from better healing to biger damage or crit temporarly improvements, better loot enchanters, pets, tools and resources and anything your imagination can come to, maybe MA will try to find way in midle with web shop fior EU and also for thet new phone/brovser game as an mixed model.
Web shop sell things you usualy cant achieve by playing, they are mostly consumables or limited in time or in use, players can play without but still gaming companies make milions with shops.

I think there are lots of things going on here - the following is taken directly from the Entropia-Universe state of address 2014.

    http://www.entropiauniverse.com/bulletin/buzz/2014/02/25/State-of-the-Universe-Address-2014.xml

Premium Accounts - Still in the early design stage, MindArk is planning to offer premium account upgrades for a small monthly cost. Benefits of the various premium account types are still being decided, but may include such features as increased storage limits and increased number of simultaneous auctions. We are also considering making premium account upgrades available via daily mission tokens as well as special lootable items.

Affiliate System - (Planned for Early 2015 Release)

Work is moving forward on the affiliate program mentioned in the State of the Universe Address 2014, though the expected release date has been revised to 2015 due to integration requirements with other planned projects.

    Client & Server Stability

MindArk’s highest priority during the next several releases will be improving stability of the Entropia Universe client. Several of the most common causes of recent client crashes have been identified and our developers are hard at work on resolving those to improve the Entropia Universe experience for all participants.

    Figurines

I personally like the idea of figurines to go with the mission trophy heads ;) & now the figurines as many of you are also aware I cant wait for the release of some of the new fire-base apartments so that I can then get some of these up on display ;) I also like that they are avatar bound and cant be traded as it shows that you have then compleated the mission and achived it rather than just buying it.

I am Very much looking forward to not just the next Arkadia Update but also more of the new cool things that are comming to the wider platform - Especially the current one NEW SERVERS.

I am kind of puzzled a bit at hearing that these figurines are bound. Why must it be this way? The sale of these figurines would have no effect on the economy of the game. They do look very neat, and I imagine there are plenty of people out there that would like a few in their apt. But what if someone wants a Yuka figurine and they can't hunt Yuka? Should they wait 4 years until they have the skills to do so, and also the amount of ped and time required to finish a decent challenge like this? And then just to be able to see what the figurine really looks like, must also spend $100+ on an apt? So sure figurines sound nice, but as Dan pointed out, in the end your reward is the loss of 1 storage slot...

Seems to me there would be more incentive for people to grind the repeatable missions if these rewards were tradeable. Plain and simple.

Personally i like them. would have preferred plushies :p but nevermind lol

Its about choice, i can choose or not, to do missions, or to go to planets etc etc......

For example i personally think taming is a pure waste of dev time / resources / effort. But I RESPECT the fact that others do look forward to this. I dont go ranting on forums about it or moaning about it... I accept it and make a choice that its not my cuppa tea tyvm.

Why cant others do the same? Maybe u dont like bound items, maybe u see them as the end of EU but surely u can RESPECT the fact that others do like them. I am sure we are all adult enough to choose what we like and respect the decisions others make

I think being untradable increases their value. Not in peds or markup, but what it means when you see someone with a figurine or many in their apartment.

I find the argument about the bound aspect of figurines to be an ignorant and petty one. It is a 1 pec figurine that shows others you did the long haul. It could be achieved with a stage 6 achievement that no one will ever see. It does not effect the rce aspect in anyway and is not game breaking. In fact, it adds value. So dear god in heaven.. find something else to whine about before your pettyness ruins it for everyone else.

It sure looks like a carabok, doesn't it? As far as I know, though, and from talking with other people, there is no Stage 6 for them or gallards. But might be it's in the works and just not in yet.

As for the size of figurines, the picture below has me standing next to a tiarak.

Looking at all those figurines makes me want to collect the whole set (what is the one on the lower right?). But I can't imagine how many hours of hunting it would take -- I have trouble even getting to stage 5!

hehe Many hours, though relatively smaller mobs aren't as bad. I roughly estimate it took me 72 hours to do tiarak Stage 1-5, plus another 25 to do Stage 6. That's 87 hours just for tiarak. Madana is taking me longer. 205 hours for Stage 1-5. I'm currently a few hunts into Stage 6, but estimate it will take 55 hours total. So roughly 260 hours (nearly 11 days straight).

I hope many years from now I can look at my collection and have many fond memories!
