Magurg ANNIHILATION Finals

Wellcome to the finalists, we are approaching to the final part of the Magurg ANNIHILATION and the big event is here.

Before to explain the rules I have to thank every partecipant and I would wish all the finalists the best of luck for the last run in our event.

As everyone know the event became half long than expected, our apologies to this but the decision was related to the low number of daily event partecipants in the last days... I hope everyone had fun joining our daily events, it is the first time in EU there is an event like this so both us promoters and you partecipants had no idea of how it might work, for our side we have to tell it was exiting and we hope everyone liked the event itself like Magurg Male, the unique mob available only in our Land Area.

Ok so it's time for the last part of this awesome adventure, here are the rules we have planned for this part of the event... rules have been a little changed from the first showed in the other thread to make the event more interesting for the partecipants, as prizes have been adjusted due to the event duration decrease.

Event time:

EVENT START: Friday 11 April at 0:00 am EL time
EVENT END: Thursday 24 April at 23:59 pm EL time

SCORES

The final score of each partecipant is determined by the sum of the scores collected consideres the following rules:


GLOBALS:


Highest 5 globals under 500 ped worth the global value in ped (380 PED global = 380 points)
Global over 500 ped worth 5 points


HOFS:


Hofs worth 1 point, but the highest hof (1 only) under 500 ped can be used, if higher than 5th global in value, for the final score.




In others words the score is determined from the sum of the highest single 5 global under 500 PED plus the extra points (1 point for every hof, 5 points for every global over 500 ped).
One only single hof under 500 ped can replace the lower of the 5 main globals of the finalist, if the value of the hof is higher than the lower of the 5 main globals under 500 peds collected.


Example 1 (use of 1 hof in main score):


500 ped GLOBAL = 500 points
501 ped GLOBAL = 5 points
450 ped GLOBAL = 450 points
400 ped GLOBAL = 400 points
350 ped GLOBAL = 350 points
300 ped GLOBAL
350 ped HOF = 1 point
501 ped HOF = 1 point
1000 ped HOF = 1 point
400 ped HOF = 400 point (this hof is highest of 5th main global (300 PED) so it can be used to replace it)


Example 2 (use of only globals in main score):


500 ped GLOBAL = 500 points
501 ped GLOBAL = 5 points
450 ped GLOBAL = 450 points
400 ped GLOBAL = 400 points
450 ped GLOBAL = 450 points
400 ped GLOBAL = 400 points
900 ped GLOBAL = 5 points
501 ped HOF = 1 point
1000 ped HOF = 1 point
380 ped HOF = 1 point (this is highest hof under 500 peds, but lower than 5th highest global (400 PED), so the 5 globals will be counted as full score, this hof count as extra 1 point)

Partecipants can gain points both in hunting and mining profession.
In case of same position the first to claim the position will get it, the second will get next position.

Final event prizes:

1st place: 10.000 PEDs
2nd place: 5.000 PEDs
3rd place: 2.500 PEDs

HIGHEST HOF & MOST GLOBALS:

Highest hof and most globals events are still running and will end at Thursday 24 April at 23:59 pm EL time.

Highest hof prize: 10.000 PEDs
Most globals prize: 5.000 PEDs

IMPORTANT: While only the finalists listed here can join the final event and win final event prizes, the most global and highest hof events are open to everyone and will count all the globals/hofs from the day 1 of Magurg daily event to the end of final event.

We'll update event scores each 2-3 days during the event.

Well since you've changed all the rules halfway through I can now only hunt properly for about 5 days of the final event. For the original dates I have time off work and few other commitments and was planning to hunt your LA for the whole time. Though since you're now giving away less than half of the prizes you promised to, I'm not sure I can be bothered anyway.

This is not the way to run an event.

 

I think that for the 1st place prize need give 12500 ped
it would be fair

 

I want to ask, how come you guys have a unique mob on your land area? Is it from using DNA parts? If so where did you get them from?

 

I want to say, I was very excited about this event. But you MUST consider moving the event time to start at least 24 hours after the last oratan is shot (there is another event this weekend)

First, by moving it up, many of us, as Oleg stated, now find themselves screwed over because of our RL plans. Furthermore, having it start this soon, with little notice, on the same weekend as an Oratan weekend, means that I cannot participate. The global threshold will be MUCH higher Saturday and Sunday, and of course, those 2 days I am out of town for a bachelor party for a close friend. That means I have NO chance of winning.

Please rethink this start time.

 

There is an Ortan scheduled for then too? Aw man - that does screw it up. I'm so ready to pull the trigger on a big depo to come hunt there, but keep having second thoughts. This makes it worse, because I always didn't hunt them during Oratan.
I wasn't happy about the change of start time really due to money issues. My time is actually way more available now than it would be, but I hadn't intended to need to get ready for this for another month or two.
I know it is going to last for 2 weeks, so that is a reasonable amount of time, but still. Just like the 100 days, this part of the event will fail for you if only a few people really participate.

I went to the LA today to start my campaign and when I came here to check how things are going you're starting the finals early???

You can forget about me ever hunting on your LA's if this is how you treat rules.

Sadly land owners don't get advanced notice of the oratan events. Really is bad timing.

 

You should change the start date to after the Oratan event ends. I would like to participate in the Oratan event but would be practically forced to do this instead.

 

Yea, you already changed it once - so all bets are off - might as well do it again. I have a feeling this Oratan will be good too.

 

It's nothing to do with bad timing. It's purely about dishonesty. We entered an event (or in cases like Slither's, planned to enter it) in the good faith that there would be a specified level of prizes and that by qualifying for the final event we would be able to take part at a certain time in order to win those prizes. All of those things have turned out to be lies.

The best word I can use for this is fraud.

 

About complainings... no partecipant or finalist is forced to join finals, if prizes are not liked everyone is free to move somewhere else.

The cost of getting a ticket won't broke anyone, expecially who won already ped prize looking to get that ticket, and for sure the prizes seems like a fair compensation to cover the relatively low cost of getting the ticket. From another side we have less partecipants, prizes are still related to chance to win.

The event cut was posted few days before daily event ended, everyone looking for a ticket had a chance to get it in time, expecially considering there was few days with empty 4th and 5th places, coming and getting 3 globals was enough to enter finals.

Let me tell that for us this event will be a big loss like it is and it is ok for us, we was sure to cover so high costs wasn't an easy goal. So why we did an event like this? To promote both LA and Magurg and Arkadia as planet.

We are open to comments of course, this doesn't mean we are ready to receive comments seasoned by negative publicity for the LA or the event organizers, we keep the right to disqualify any finalist heading into that direction.

Now two words about Oratan's event...

Of course I suspected there was again an Oratan event soon, anyway finals thread was posted before Oratan notice, I had no confirm about Oratan event when I posted.

I understand the Oratan event comes inside the event but since there is one Oratan event each two weeks and the event is two weeks long before other after an Oratan event will fit inside the event duration.

I understand it might be less attractive to begin the event considering rules we have with Oratan at first days, so moving starting date is something we are considering, asap I can talk with my partner we'll post any decision about dates, until that the event is as already posted.

Since if we move, to monday for example, the begin date of the event might not be enough to prevent that there will be an Oratan event during finals, if anyone has suggestions we are listening to any of these. There is no rush in starting finals, we prefeer it will be a comfortable event for any partecipant.

 

id rather have the oratanattack at the start of the magurgevent then at the end
if the oratanattack takes place at the last couple days of the event then its almost pointless to hunt the days before since some1 will only have to wait for the last 2 days to get high globals since the hoflist will be high

another idea would be to change the rule about only globals counting,im sure most hunters that did daily magurgs will know you had loots of around 400 ped...
so just make the rule the 5 highest globals under 500 ped

if you do it that way thne the oratan attack doesnt interfere with the magurgfinals

 

for me it is a chance for our magurg event since every single "share looter" will try a "perfect glob" while the HOF minimum, is very high. And it is the only chance we have to get that "perfect glob", the Oratan evant.

 

If you don't postpone it, it is guaranteed there will be a Oratan event during the finals, if you do postpone it is not guaranteed there will be another Oratan event during the finals.

It's in the event organizers best interest also. If you start it at the current scheduled date people will hunt for two days and score some big globals and then it will pretty much be over after the max global drops way down. If you postpone it you will probably get more consistent hunting for the entire duration of the event, there is no guarantee there will be another Oratan event before the Magurg event ends.

 

That's a good point - I don't want to try and compete in a two week event, where most people will get mad points the first 2 days.

A theme in EU (and life for that matter) is that no matter what you do - you can't make everyone happy. Those oratan events are out of control - they could have one every week for all we know - they have had back to back ones already. I am guessing you didn't make the decision to end the 1st stage early very easily. So I would consider what is in your LA's and your goal of this event's best interest.
I really thought it was very ambitions to begin with - but that is fine.
I'm too unsure now
