New thread being maintained by May, can be found here: Ubo ***** Description: First encountered under the desert regions of Sentosa, a lone Ubo may seem relatively harmless, however the thought of being taken unaware by a large group of them is bloodcurdling to even the most experienced of hunters. Fortunately, they make a satisfying "squidgy" sound when eliminated, and this aids in motivating hunters to keep them at bay. Creature Type: Animal Damage Type: 100% Burn ACA Challenge: View attachment 5851 Maturities: Young Mature Old Provider Guardian Alpha Old Alpha Prowler Stalker
Findings on L6 Ubo from Instance 1 Health Level: Frail Damage potential: Limited Agility: 22 Intelligence: 20 Psyche: 25 Stamins: 6 Strength: 8 Hit Points: 60 - closest as I could determine Max Damage: 32 - ran test for over 60 minutes and my max damage was 31.7 so rounded up to 32 Regen Rate: 0 - waited for 10 minutes and not a single tick on heal bar regenerated Damage Type: Pen, Shr or Brn or combination - Ran test with Adj Pixie, surprisingly I was still getting max damage and never a result less then 1/2 max damage. So damage type must be of types Pen, Shr, or Brn - Ran test with Shogun, all damage was reduced, over 15 min of testing and never came close to a max damage hit and getting way below 1/2 max damage protection most of the time, so must be Pen, Shr or Brn. Guessing Pen and Burn or both.
I have been testing on LA6 and damage appears to be 100% Burn. (I have not tested shrapnel). I was expecting acid as that is what is shown on entropedia. But Bodyguard(Pen/Imp)+P4 (Acid/Imp) takes no decay. Bodyguard + P7 (Burn/Imp) does decay the plates. Koroma (stab/cut/imp/cold) does not decay Adj Pixie (imp/cut/stab/cold/acid/elec) does not decay. So it's burn burn burn. Would someone else like to confirm before I update entropedia? Regards, KikkiJikki
Yes, after hunting these yesterday I agree. 5b and 5d didn't decay and I could get 1.0 with Salamander+6a so that rules out everything except burn and shrapnel. It's hard to believe that someone could be so bad at testing that they conclude 100% acid on a mob that does no acid damage at all, and still feels confident enough to put it in Entropedia...
It's always been considered acid but as you say.. it appears to be burn damage. It is funny because I told Rowan that I bet it was burn because it drops pyro chips like korwil drops lacerations (cold). Thanks for testing it. I just went by entropedia. Lot easier to protect against burn.
That test may have been done with the small Ubos from the instances which might be a different mob (the name is simply "Ubo" not "Ubo Young") and do different damage types. Next time I go in I'll check for acid/burn damage on those ones.
KMax already posted tests from the instances that back up Kikki's and my findings, so no need for that. The person responsible for putting acid in Entropedia has a history of adding bad data.
It's possible that it was originally supposed to be acid damage, so I'll message Chris and ask if this in fact a mistake, before you guys go doing more work.... Also, seems logical to me that a creature such as the Ubo would be an acid mob, just going by the parts it can drop.
Given that it's attack looks like a flame, I'm sure it's intended to be burn There's never been any indication that it's acid other than the info put into Entropedia by someone who claims to have tested it but clearly doesn't know how.
Hmm. I never saw a flame but then I doubt it ever had time to show that animation when I did Aakas. Either way this is great. Easier to protect burn than acid.
but think of this, if you get some acid on you it will cause a burn most likely. Burn don't necessarily mean a flame....
Yeah you guys are right....I dunno, for some reason when I look at it the first thing that springs to mind is Acid.
The spray is green in color. That's the first thing that comes to mind. I never see the red particles.
im sorry kikki did you do the testing too sory i thought jenny did it but if you did too well a great big ty ty to you as well and anyone else that had a hand in testing it i just like everyone else assumed it was acid not wonder i had not no decay lol
yeah it's KJ and Oleg that do most of the testing so thanks goes out to them Anthony I just take their findings and place it in the OP, as I know they know these things and you as well can double check there figures they post so don't thank me for the testing hehe
