Hi Narfi, I think i saw you mention this idea before. I think it has merit, so lets see what the powers that be think when they hear about it.
They wont. And why ? They are going to re-introduce they space ships and let players decide how much things will cost. It was a meaning of life for the pilots and MindArk is going to give that back to them. That we have a temp. solution doesnt mean it is fixed for ever. Tho the temp solution is becoming a bit perma in my eyes. But as soon as spaceship return maybe they introduce (player suggestion here) a fee where you can travel unlimited on certain spaceships for a month. Could be easily done with the pilots/ Planet Partners
True that Faye. and its maybe a policy the Pilots themselves could institute in lo any real system from MA.
I personally dont want the pilot system back. Specially if there are more planets. It was bad enough having to wait on one of the 7 to 10 "Working" pilots just to get from Calypso to CND. I cant imagine what a cluster fuck it will be if that all returns. Too many hangar owners held for investments and even more only for personal and or soc use. Im sorry 4 hour waits for a pilot to get 4 people to fill the seats was rediculess. Sometimes players were trapped there for days trying to catch a ride up or down because there were so few active pilots that actually invested in their investment by using it regularly.
I don't think you'll ever see a serious space ship only transport system. Why? Because right now the money we spend to go from planet to planet goes right into their pockets, and there's no overhead, just the same old TP's so why would they give up income they're guaranteed just to make a few ship owners happy?
Lets just hope that we will still have the tping when Arkadia comes out. After that, I won't really care. I don't want to come back to Calypso
I'm a professional miner on Calypso, and I get around a little, I've been on the asteroid base and every dome they have, and Rocktropia, and Next Island...so I've seen just about everything so far. I've always came back to Calypso so far, since I know the place pretty well, but if I had a place more exciting to mine with new materials, or treasures that Calypso doesn't have, then I might make that my home base. I think I'd still travel around though.
