Wouldn't it be NICE if pirates actually played within the rules of Entropia? Both Psychologically and actual in-game gameplay? I mean, we would still be About them taking our loot, but, then they aren't bragging in your face that "I STOLE LEGALLY 50 BUCKS OFF YA! LOOOOSEEER!!" Or posting vides of you exploding... Or ransoming you... Tricking you, etc. Post your thoughts please, thanks.
Pirates suck. There's no way to put a good spin on their activities. Why would you expect a thief to work within any system of rules?
If a pirate has the money and resources to equip themselves in a player verses player area then that's there choice. I am fully aware of the risk of pvp red areas where you can get looted and space is no different the warnings are there whenever you leave a space station area and the pirates themselves don't know if they are going to get loot when in reality to take down some ones ship is actually costing them ammo and reasonable sums of ammo personally I have a quad but make sure the only thing I carry is next island tech chips as there worth not a lot and are really heavy that and some dung. If i was to carry stackable or ores then I would use one of the many pilots airlines around that offer warp services, they are playing within the rules yes to brag is possible a bit harsh but then if it's over 50 ped then they are goin to get this as a global and I know when I global I like to shout about it. The investments needed for a ship upgrade from slep / quad don't fit my budget so I don't carry stackable and don't even have weapons on my space craft at the end of the day if the ship gets toasted I revive at a space port repair my ship and carry on and get skills in the process. Player verses player isn't for everyone but if you take the risk be prepared if this has happened to you then sorry for your loss but this might be a lesson learnt and warning to others that if your not on a pilot / warp service make sure your not carrying stackable.
I just think pirates should only be able to loot 1/2 the value of whatever lootable items they carry. If they want to be able to loot 100 peds worth of stuff off someone they would have to have 200 ped of lootable items on them when they do it. They can still loot all they want, they just have to take some risk doing it. The reason I say 2x worth is to cover any mu.
Yes I do like the idea that a Pirate would have to carry the same PED value of stuff in order to shoot and loot another player. Hopefully they would all fight amongst themselves then and leave the rest of us nice folk alone.
I don't think PVP4 and space are bad I think you need to be aware of Player Verses Player Areas. Higher risk = Higher Reward especially If you go mining in PVP4 I also think that is nicer these days that you are unable to use the radar and this is not available also the use of vehicles in PVP4. They have always been PVP areas and I think as long as people are informed of there use and risk then it is up to the player themselves if they are prepared to run this risk hence the anti toxic shock for PVP4. Personally I am not a Huge fan of them but its something in the dynamics of the game that I have gotten used to its also worth skilling guass for long range if you really want to start kicking off some fun in PVP with a group of friends or to play with the stalkers in PVP4 in PVP4 you can store stackables in storage containers and still retain the items a use for those Christmas boxes . I also dont think it would be fair to those that have HUGE investments in space craft that space becomes non PVP so that the whole Universe can carry all there stackables between planets for very small prices in thruster decay / fuel and landing fees. This comes from me playing a Loooooong time and can remember 20ped / 25 ped from Calypso to CND ( F.O.M.A ) its around 6 ped these days from Ark to Caly. Now what would be fun would be to setup an Arkadia Space Protection Group to take battle with pirates but then you are talking about costs for weapon attachments and ammo to go and do this on quads or people owning privateers Again this is going to cost more than people think. Also you are not just going to need Pilots but people willing to spend there peds on ammo / projectiles / and also spend time possibly boringly sitting outside the space station waiting to attack. Not sure if there is an event system / event setting for the Arkadia Training Grounds but it could be a fun way to really test out space and for people to see how quickly they can burn through there peds on ammo / defending arkadia. Also Remember its a Real Cash Economy - If you deposit enough you can get a free gold card now for added security. Would you leave your cash point pin next to your ATM / Cash point Card ? I very much doubt it When you go away on holiday do you advertise your house to burglars on facebook ? I doubt it so why take stackables in to space unprotected.
U summarise quite well . I kinda love the rush of space when entropia gets boring PvP is another layer of fun. I dont hunt in PvP but the rush of carrying when that first hit strikes your airships hull is damn sweet . Never been shot down in space carrying but I have been killed in pvp 4 loosing some mining stuff. Anyways abit OT again then . It might not be that fun to c ppl brag but I mean well I dont like ppl rubbing it in when they stole a big pot from me a the poker table either. Yet I dont smack them with the table
Space PVP/protection doesn't work for four reasons. 1) cost of ammo 2) only 1 model of ship 3) mechanics of space and most importantly, 4) no good reason to do it BTW, items in storage containers ARE lootable.
IMO, Space is worse than PvP4. PvP4 allows a person to CHOOSE whether or not to run the risk of being there. It is, after all, only a small isolated part of a planet. Space, however, does not and is not.* Regardless of whether you use a transport service or not, there is still some degree of risk involved that you have NO CHOICE but to accept if you wish to continue interplanetary activities of one sort or another (such as a business). Personally, I would have no issue with, and would actively encourage the implementation of, a PvE route being offered through Space between the planets, even if it took twice as long to get from A to B. MA would still get the resultant benefits from any repairs required from either asteroid or mob damage (especially if they made it so that you had to actively fly and not just cruise in a straight line) and then participants/players would get a clear CHOICE. Failing that though, I think this suggestion (that of forcing the Pirates to carry an equal risk (TT value) in order to loot other players during their use of space) is probably the fairest suggestion I've seen so far since Space was launched. * Ironically (from a certain point of view), the implementation of Space in its current form, seems almost in direct contravention of Rule 8c of the EU ToS/EULA....LoL
lol snape you read my mind im writing a pvp piece to post here in about 10 minutes or so to see what people think
yes they should remove the pvp in space.. then i might actually try shooting mobs in there with my quad
