... just don't know how to start ... I am so angry that ... so the "rhetorical" question is: How hard is to kill a puny?" yes they have 10 hp and yes with a tt gun (lets say M2100) you will need from 3 to 5 shots, but ... with the lag ... wowow ... 10 fails in a row and then 7 "target evade" and when you manage to do one real shoot and make 2 damage then the same row (fail-evade) come and ... what to see the puny restored his hp ... so you try again ... same thing ... and again and again .... in the end you somehow manage to kill it and ... "13 nova fragmens" .. and this is good becouse the last 10 punies that you have killed had "no loot' ... and ... I know that there are people losing a lot lot LOT more peds becuse of this lag and the terrible loot this days, btw I can understand the terrible loot ... this days, at lest there must be christmas and new year bonuses for MA, but the lag ..... and "taget evade" 7 times (some times more) in a row ... and it is only a puby ... I am lv 30 at laser and when I was lv 3 there was 3 maybe 4 times les "target evade" ... and I wonder what happen ... are all that skills working somehow "reverse" ... as more skills you get as more you can't do the job that you are doing ... so ... I have one proposal for MA: Tell us how much money you need to fix the LAG! I will be happy to donate money for fixing this LAG and I am sure there will be a lot of players that will donate too ... just to fix the LAG ... I am not a programer or computer specialist and all this ... "explanations" like "there are some net problems on the region" or "there are some sever problems" sounds good .... BUT ... everything have a price (maybe more servers or triple net conection to them or something like this) so ... tell us how much money are need it to FIX the lag ... and one advice to MA (I know it is pointless to post here something for MA, but anyway) ... go and see this game "Star Citizen" : https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ they have more then 350 000 Star Citizens already and almost 36 million $ and the game is not even ready ...why they have so much ... because they listen ... and doing there best to make the game as best as it posible ... (not just sitting, collecting money, and answering to some "suport cases") and in the end I still wonder how this game manage to stay more then 10 years online ... but to be honest now I understand ... when there are still someone to play even with all this lag, terrible loot, a lot of bugs and there are still money that go to MA .. why not ... and the players ... who cares ... if they don't like it ... can go to ********* ... there are new that will come and the money flow will continue ... so **** the players and there are needs ... With best regards OLD NICK p.s.: I know that the A-Team doind there best for Arkadia and they doing very good job so far ... but this lag and MA just killing the game .... p.s.s.: and why I am so angry ... more then 11 hours at carabok and gallard wave zone ... will not mention the loot ... and at wave 91 the lag got so so bad, almost 1 min to kill one single carabok, that the message "Time Out" popup and the waves reseted and ... 11 hours gone to **************************** p.s.s.s.: so for the next 4 or 5 months (or until this lag is fixed) I am going only to sweat ... p.s.s.s.s.: and almost forget ... Happy New Year MA (and be careful when spending your christmas and new year bonuses) ... hope this will not be the last year for the game

Your fap fixes lag, Ridan? Gimme. Nick, most of us have been having issues with lag in recent weeks, to varying degrees. With MM happening on Calypso and the intermittent oratan attacks here on Arkadia, servers are busier than normal. But, yeah, I agree that the servers should be able to handle a few thousand players across all worlds and space. Though I think I did read that the MA's server farm has been having some issues also, but I can't remember where I saw that.
In all fairness this is why I can't visit Arkadia anymore, not because it's pap. I actually think it's a really well designed planet with all facets shining well, except for the lag. Yes, hardware limitations really do make the simplest of tasks difficult. I haven't been to Cyrene - can't comment Calypso - I've cycled a fair amount of PED getting to Serendipity quickly and recognising the loss of others - Longu lag? really? new players can generate additional revenue but for some reason a single avatar in a longu spawn gets loot lag? What happens when the game is thriving and bustling? Next Island - yup, no lag at all. and for some reason profit O.O must be an overflow pipe somewhere. Monria - didn't experience any glitches there at all. RT - currently here, loot lag in busy areas, none in the land areas. Arkadia - sounds cynical I know but around October time i flew back to the place I graduated and managed to crash in the huts at the back of Sanctuary Cove with no one else around (Yuka's aren't near the outpost so much) crafting, however the attempts that occurred prior to this crash were delayed for 1-3mins - Although I kinda appreciate that loading an entire server node to craft might be a bit selfish. But I remember Carabok runs where every 15mins or so the server would take a minute or two then the loot would start pouring in the top left corner as it issued the information to my client. I doubt with the international aspect that the lag situation could change in any other circumstance other than sudden population increases though. EDIT: As of 2nd February latency had diminsihed to easily enjoyable levels, without any CTD on a sub-high computer. 3hrs+ logged in the middle of both Oratan events that were underway, with a browser game in the background and on these forums. Hats off to the Ark team and resource allocation managers for alleviating the only real gripe!
servers seem to have been quite busy for a year now.. and yes the lag if nothing else is killing the game.. auction lag is probly the most annoying yet.. takes u about 5 min to pick the category, sub category, sort by buyout twice to get them start from lowest... each click makes u wait for 20sec
Ok well for what it's worth, here is my 2pec on things: In my experience the lag is consistently bad everywhere. I experience the same delays in auction and storage etc no matter what planet I'm on and regardless of whether I'm at home on my desktop or at the office with my laptop (and the systems are very similar in stats). I've heard/read from multiple sources on multiple forums etc now that there are "issues" with internet traffic routing in the country where MA's server farm is located. That coupled with the proven capability of servers to handle large groups of people attending events, shows what needs to be addressed. I'm pretty sure that MA are aware of the issues and cannot see how or why they could conceivably ignore them or do nothing about them IF it is within their power to rectify it easily and quickly. Make no mistake, I'm not making excuses for MA (and time of the year will also have a degree of influence here too) but can anyone possibly be 100% solidly sure that MA are not trying to do something to rectify the situation that is surely effecting their bottom line? Granted, we only have historical examples to go on, but we don't know for certain the whole 100% story, nor are we likely to ever know......All we can do is speculate, make up our own minds for ourselves based on that speculation and decide what we are going to do as individuals. For now, I'm willing to ride it out (for my own reasons) and see what happens.
a game on more then 10 years ... Online game!!! ... and can't "handle large groups of people attending events" ... (by large you mean maybe 50 or 60 people) .... what MA expect when making online games ... only 5 - 10 people on a planet or on hunt ... of course there will be large group of people ... this is the first think that a company making online games must DO ... "handle large groups of people attending events" ... and if MA still can't do it after 10 year .... what I can say ... in my opinion there maybe 10 000 players in this game (around 5 000 registered mentors and lets say same number that are not registered) and 10 000 players for online game is nothing so I still thinkig that the problem is the lack of money to buy new servers (and new "net conections") and the "crowdfunding" is a good solution for MA to be honest I don't want to know "whole 100% story" ... I just want to play this online game in "normal" way ... especially when puting real money there ... if it was "absolutely" free to play game (we all know that this game is not) then OK ... on free to play online game can expect everything ... but for this game ... and they (of course) still want more and more players to join (not sure on what server they will put all this new players ) and with 10 year "history" it is just unacceptable ... maybe the only thing that we must do is to stop playing ... and give some "free" time to MA to fix all problems With best regards OLD NICK p.s. one thing that it is very strange for me is why MA can't understand that more people in the game mean more money (not the "unrealistic" 80-90% return that is advertised everywhere ... this days is maybe 50 - 60% or less, or all this "taxes" and "decay") ... it is so so simple people=money ... and so so easy to get more people ... just give them a HOPE ... that one day they can have some "cool" stuff like the others, or that can make some small amount of real money (of course first must know how to "handle large groups of people" ) ... it is so easy to give hope and somone was sad that "the hope is the last think that will die" ... and to be honest (again) my hope for this game dead last night on that wave zone ... of course I will still playing, because the game "idea" is great, but doubt that will deposit any time soon p.s.s.: Snape ... hope you understand that there is nothing personal quoting your post p.s.s.s.: "that one day they can have some "cool" stuff like the others" .... someone can say that this is in the game already, but how many players can give a real 3 000 $ (or more) for a gun or armor ... and if you somehow get this gun or armor the next thing is to give more and more money just to use it ...
If u notice my other thread created not so long ago about this subjekt u Will notice i agree with this the FAp comment was a jokr since u mentioned punys. Basicly we cant do shit bout it it is what it is and MA MIGHT look into it during this decade or they wont. So only thing we can do really is to try to enjoy it anyway
Yep I understand completely. I agree with you on a number of points NICK, I was just playing devils advocate.
Plus the biggest stress test in EU history is currently underway. Arkadian Oratan Events side by side with the mid-section of Mayhem, with the highest number of planets the game has seen todate, with land areas that have been rolled out in the last couple of months, and Monria. It's not as bad as it could be, so Kudos for that at least.
I can only note that after improving graphics became more problems on server Celeste (all TP's, full square). The problem with this lag is less on other servers such as Aakas. I'd like always been there, but ... my Shop is in Celeste North. And I'm staying here. I think the problem is because the game does not cache the objects and items and each time when you access inventory, loads all inventory again and again, and the auction too. This is a serious problem.
Does the caching persist in the same server block throughout the session or does it dissappear after say 15mins?
Lag during the oratan events has been minimal, I have not really had a problem with that. Lag at celeste harbor on the other hand is very bad and it's hard to do anything with estates there. I'm not sure anyone's been able to nail down the problem with that yet but hopefully soon they'll be able to get it corrected. I do not have problems with lots of no-looters or hunting lag. But auction lag has been bad since the start of Merry Mayhem (it's worse on Calypso tho).
Sorry to go slightly off topic, but do you perhaps have any more information about this? I searched for the posts you mentioned, but I can't find them. I happen to be located around the corner of the server farm, and have been experiencing a lot of connection problems. Ranging from hunting/loot/AH/terminal//flying/logging lag, to the inability to get ingame in the first place. Either the modem lights flicker like they're Christmas lights, and I get kicked off before the log in finishes. Or the game crashes randomly, after which I'm unable to log back in at all. The only thing that works in that situation, seems to be a complete re-install. Actually, that should have been written mostly in the paste tense: since the stability update I fortunately have had a lot less CTD's, which is absolutely great (knock on wood that it is permanent). The tradeoff seems to be that the lag has gotten worse for me. E.g. Quarry often slows down to 1-5 frames when more than a few people are present. Someone in the soc and me both had ammo/items bought/sold with so much lag, that it took hours after repeatedly re-logging for it finally to arrive (with "you are not allowed to do this action" message). So I would like to find out if the problems at the server farm were really solved with this update, or if it is something completely different. (Since my ISP is unable /unwilling to tell me if there are any local issues.) Funny, I always thought that being close to the server was supposed to be an advantage.
No I don't unfortunately, I've just read the same general comment from several different people across the common forums. My guess is that they in turn have been getting it from the same source(s). I will ask the A-Team guys if they have heard anything further, and ask them to post if they can.
Add draw distance to safe mode in advanced graphics options it solved all my lag problems in all planets.
shitty loot, but on RT there's trolls and rocktropians sitting around waiting to be killed that have lower hp than any other starter mobs in the universe. In theory you can kill about 5 trolls with same decay you'd use to kill one puny. Yes, not great loot, but for skilling, when you consider the 'kill bonus' in skills this definitely gives rt a bit of an advantage as a place to train. When are 2 hp gibnibs going to show up on other planets?
@ Snape: Ah ok, I thought it was already confirmed. But thanks anyway for trying to follow up on it. It was probably some wishful thinking on my part: better the devil you know. @ Sub-Zero: I tried the draw setting on safe mode, and it eased the lag a bit, so thank you, that helped. I had it on medium before, because I thought it was needed to see fruit and stones on the floor. But that was probably pretty flawed reasoning, since a big lag would likely prevent you from seeing them in the first place...
