I've been just killing things off as I deplete their sweat, and I notice the weapons I got along the starter quest are not going to hold up for very long at all. Is there a good method for getting new weaponry that just does enough damage to kill off little things and skill up combat stuff? "Good" meaning very cheap.
The weapons from the TT are great, just make sure your not doing too much dmg. If the mob has 10 HP, you don't want to kill it with 14 dmg, as that would be a 40% waste, and that waste could mean less mobs that your able to kill for the same amount of peds. The more Eco you are able to operate, the more mobs you can kill with the same peds, and the more likely you will be able to hunt long enough to find the "good one". the Piron series is very nice, if you can get a hold of a PBP-2 or PBR-2, or any of the Piron laser lvl 2's, they last a long time, and are very nice weapons. As you progress a bit, you may start looting guns to shoot, some may be your lvl, some you may want to sell. At some point you can save for a player made weapon one of the local crafters , like Kikki Jikki can make you. They will be able to help you find some direction in your skill progress. Goodluck 8)
After looking into it, I've seen that the Sollomate Opalo is suppose to be a nice and efficient weapon that is sold at the TT. Yet it is NOT sold at the TTs I have been looking at. And those weapons on auction go for more than I have. Any other suggestions on a starter weapon that might be in the 2-5 PED range including ammo?
Opalo used to be the weapon to get if you amped it but these days its a bit outclassed. There's a really useful thread in PCF comparing the various options. Now the weapons available from the TT will vary depending on the planet you are on. However you can usually get other planet's TT weapons at a cost of TT+1 as many people ship them between planets. Sorry I am not famliar with the costs of the various starter weapons. Another useful resource is Entropedia. Go here and sort ascending by max TT to see what you can afford and relative dpp (damage per pec - higher = more efficient for u) values Also, consider getting yourself a mentor as a little bit of timely advice can save you peds and time as well as possible building useful relationships within the game. Also there is useful free stuff when you complete apprenticeship. It's best to have a mentor who: - is based on the same planet as you - tends to be online at the same time (timezone can be a good guide here) - has the same language - actually is helpful. If you are on arkadia, then there is a section of the forum here devoted to mentor details. Not sure what the deal is for Calypso.
Opalo is a calypso wepon Thats why u cant find it here on ark. I do have some low end wepons in storage i think that could work
the Opallo is not the best TT weapon out there... Each planet has its own weapons in the TT. The Opalo is a 10 year old option on Calypso. The Ark version changed a while back from the (L) versions to a newer UL version. They are nice and eco, just try not to overkill a mob, you may want a smaller finishing weapon to keep from over killing a mob. Or... maybe a TT weapon from Cyrene to finish them... When purchasing a weapon form another planets TT, make sure not to pay someone over 1 ped for the import fee. Do you have a Mentor? they can really give you some good direction into things like this. Goodluck
No, I don't have a mentor as of yet. I'm slowly getting the gist of things, but I guess someone who knows the game already giving me a pointer or two might help. How do I get a mentor?
Are they equivalent to the TT stuff? How much are they? I notice the starter weapons are 24 for 1.5-3.0 damage, and the other one is 16 for 1-2 damage. But then you go to the TT weapons and the best one I've seen is the Herman LAW-TT R that gives 190 for 4-8 damage. Are the starter weapons so much more eco to give you a better chance of continuing?
Ark overall have really strong starting wepons. The Herman is a good wep. Hmm have U maxxed our TT wepons? I would probably recomend starting out with maxxing either the scorpion or the HK. Thoose are cyrene wepons but they are both eco and low damage meaning less loss when carabook hunting etc. they are equal or better then the TT stuff we got here basicly However when hunting in the begining which U will be doing. Most of your loss will come from that last shoot meaning U do not want a 4 - 8 gun vs punys for example unless U wanna go with a finisher also. Im at work now but will be home in a few hours I guess Contact me igm if you need a hand and I will grab a look at what I got. Igm im Rosco Rawen Rawenclaw.
I think most of your questions can be answered in here: http://rp.apachenet.de/downloads/Entropia_Universe_Guide.pdf You can access the friends list by the hot key "J", there is a search icon in the upper icon list, and from there just type in the name, and friend them. Once approved you can talk.... there is no in game, off line message service, that's why these message boards are in good use.
