One thing that I have come to find out is that there is no way for me to assign a "Manager" to my ship that can summon and run the ship for me. In the past, you could do this by letting them have the deed and then getting it back (a great deal of trust) but it changed recently and without fanfare so that you can't unrestrict the ship so it can move unless you have the deed and you can't TRADE the deed with the panel not restricted. This means that you can't let one person "claim" the ship and another person "own" the ship which, I'm not sure why not, makes it where there is no way to assign a manager to the ship. Would make more sense to be able to assign one if you want. More then one would be even better.
A manager function would be great allow selected managers the ability to summon, change over warp drives, add SI and fuel while the owner is busy with other stuff.
People were exploiting the old way it used to work by creating alt avatars trading them the ship deed, claiming the ship, trading the deed back and then sharing the account details for that alt avatar between the ships pilots -> essentially giving all of them summon rights and guest list management rights. This was feedbacked to mindark and a solution suggested which is now in place to keep the ship management tied to the intended process until mindark assigns extended rights. With the recent issues that happened with people exploiting the summon function, leading to many avatars getting beamed unintentionally into space and robbed in lootable pvp - i think it got very much obvious why it would be a bad idea to allow ship owners to grant summon and management rights to just about anyone. It would be very hard for mindark to control the flood of summons that might happen to hit alot of planetside avatars, who just want to hunt/mine/craft in peace. Its very important for someone in control of such a function to use it in an respectful and polite manner and to manage their guestlist well, so to only adress avatar who really want to receive this offer of beaming to space. At some point mindark might be able to open this up to more people, but they need to adjust the summon window to be abit less surprising and abit less likely to interuppt other activities. Im personally looking very much forward to an option to assign management rights to others, but think it needs to be a limited amount of people and a limit on how often such a function can be used. It might proabably be better to just extend spacecrafts to land planetside so that people can board at spaceports and disable summon altogether.
