    Hi Axe,

Very well written write up about the Viceroy Armour.

I thought I'd share some info so you can ensure all info is complete.

The patch just released has fixed the armour, people now running around in it. All feedback on the looks very positive, but ofc that is a personal thing.

The mission broker Bill is now located inside the Quarry Managers office (moved from just outside).

When we change the armour from Viceroy Armour - Skull Candy Edition to Viceroy Armour the ONLY change is that the logo for Skull Candy will be removed from the left shoulder. I repeat that is the only change, all stats, looks etc stay the same and it remains bound.

In regards to the impact on the economy. This mission has it locked that the Viceroy is minimum 150% MU plus any MU on the materials. As such, any speculation that this will make the price of Gremlin, which is fully tradable drop down to 115% is beyond reason. Clearly this armour is very much a premium priced item compared to Gremlin. In effect this armour locks in the value of Gremlin as anyone who is concerned about ever getting their peds out of the game will choose Gremlin or another tradable armour.

In no way was this armour designed with an expectation that everyone would do the mission. Our research showed that unlike the vocal opposition on the forums, there are many many players who are not so concerned about withdrawing their peds in the future and are happy to complete a mission to obtain the armour. We see only a small percentage of the active playerbase using the forums and in general all the data shows the forum users tend to have a greater focus on the economics of the game. That is ok and it is indeed a huge part of the game, however it is not representative of the entire population and way too many people assume they are speaking on behalf of the entire community.

I also want to quell any concerns that this is the way the game is heading. In recent times Arkadia has added 7 Ancient Arkadian armours, all UnL and fully tradable. We have just added Adjusted Musca armour as a disciple reward which is UnL and fully tradable and we have quite a number of additional UnL armours that are fully tradable coming in the future. We may add more missions of this type, but that will not be the focus of all our development.

I hope this has helped clear some things up, please let me know if you have any questions about the Viceroy armour or the nature of bound items in general.

    Kind regards,
    Dave

    cool blog

tbh i dont get the uproar over it being bound. I see it as a prize for doing the mission.
I quite like the idea of earning items, it kinda goes against MA's cash is king mentality but surly its cooler to strut ur stuff in equipment that has been earned rather than bought
That strikes me as being quite satisfying and i hope it continues (maybe in the future the missions need to be setup so u cant just buy the bits from auction tho)

I really hope so i'd like to see more low end stuff as these kind of missions really encourage new players and would also help new players in trading there looted materials. I would even like to see L weapons and repeatable missions with them bound to the avatar. This gives new players something fun to work towards especially if they haven't looted any items. Just always thought it be cool if as a low end/ begginer player if you could hunt a creature and trade in it's loot for a weapon to continue hunting that creature.

Does the Arkadian Auction generally have all the parts we need to turn in to get this armor? Obviously I don't want to fly over in my quad with all these goodies in my inventory, so I would need a warp flight.

Thank you AxeMurderer for the blog post listing everything we need.

Yes, most if not all things you can find on auction and Quarry was pretty populated before I had to leave before too

I am not a fan of soulbound items. but I really liked this armor so I got it just now. It looks really nice and has some great stats. And who knows, Entropia Universe is dynamic...that which is soulbound today, might be free-to-trade tomorrow (and vice versa).

I my opinion this kind of mission/NPC trade is a good thing for the gameplay, a step in the right direction. Used in a limited and balanced way it could be an important component to make the game better.

If you are wondering what mobs to hunt and where to get the loot you need for the mission to get the Viceroy skullcandy edition armor I started updating the article with nice mobs and good places to hunt them and what loot they drop. Or if you just want loot with good MU, those mobs loot MU will increase thanks to Viceroy armor.

    http://entropia-universe-mmorpg.blogspot.com/2013/06/the-viceroy-skullcandy-edition-armor.html

I'm also accepting suggestions what mobs to hunt and where to get the resources Bill wants for exchange for the armor.

"The reason why when you sell the Viceroy - Skullcandy Edition armor to the trade terminal you get 0 PED is not that MindArk or Arkadia team are greedy, but because they use the system that is coded for the free gifts new players get and this is to prevent someone to make many avatars to get many free gifts and then sell it to trade terminal and gain some free money."

Well this is just funny. How can you compare REALLY free items with something that costs you 700 ped lol?
If you are worried people are going to make a lot of avatars to get some free ped then IT SHOULD BE FREE and non tradable. In this situation you got an armor that costs 700 ped (so Ive read) and cant get it back haha nothing free here lol.

As I said this is plain funny, im not going to get this armor EVER, better have gremlin at least you can sell it some day.
Well at least im not worried you are greedy anymore, you proved it here lol.

Mindark will be getting paid to advertise "skullcandy" and you people are paying for "skullcandy" to be advertised. Pure evil genius - and when anyone who buys this armour is short of PED's (as most of us get) they will look at it and think "fuck thats 700 peds I wasted there", so call it self-ownage or whatever.... but the second great WTF of this sorry saga is that people are tier hoffing on Viceroy . The mind truely boggles....

...but you may as well bang your head against a brick wall for all the good it would do and tbqh EU is getting to be more of an annoyance than a pleasure now, hence my inactivity ingame

What's so WTF with that? You may grab one or not, but if you did, it only makes sense to make the most use of it.

I deposited 50 Euro and split the PEDs on 2 avatars. Each approx. 290 PED.

After 8 hours of hunting I have not even collected half of it and only some loot and 50 PED on the card left.

Arkace Timber cant be looted from the listed mobs. So feel free to add the Oro for the Arkace Timber.

Orange paint cans arent available from Halix, according to entropedia.

Hadradas no longer drop Heika Timber according to entropedia and you have to switch to Beladoth, Otorugi or Tiarak.

Socket III Components seem to be very very rare from each of the mobs that are enlisted. :S

Also missing is Thyroid Oil and Adrenal Oil.
Too rare on Hadrada. Better try Owekos.

And for the wool cloth (thin wool) it says Kamaldon drops it often. But lowest maturity already has 2300 HP. So maybe better go for Beladoth and Karabok.

Took me almost 900 ped (spent, not cycled) to collect everything but yellow (had enough in storage) and orange. Orange I had to buy from auction, because managed to collect only 600 cans by the time everything else was ready.

Arkace Timber drops from Kadra very often, it will take at most 300ped of ammo to get the 20ped of Veneer.
Socket III Comps also drop very often from Kadra (Young-Old). Of the mobs I tried, they seem to drop it the most.

I sure hope we don't see more items like this since this is so much not the game. Would hate to see a EU were all items are worth 0PED at the trade terminal and not tradable between players. You need to re-read what you just typed to get an understanding of what you just did. You stated that this game will slowly turn into a non RCE game. If I'm totally wrong here, then simply change the Viceroy Armor back to having a TT value and more make it tradable for people who may want to trade it in the future.
