Well they could at least say that they are talking to MA and are taking the signals seriously.
It all went down the drain when Cyrus left

Well I should have known better, but i was hopeful that with the change in the amount of chests, they'd also fix the loot returns but forgot to tell us.

I did 3 key 2 runs, with avoiding as much mobs as possible:
    84% tt return
    81% tt return
    79% tt return

to sum it all up, we're still getting screwed, and we're better off not entering the instances.

And to add insult to injury: none of the instances gave even one single arkoin.

Note: yes i know 3 is a small sample size, but when combined with the pre-vu samples sizes it's big enough.

How about adding some new instances which do have the multiple boxes, so that people can choose for themselves wether they want 1 box with high tt, or multiple boxes with smaller tt each? heck, make it a choice as soon as you use the key... 1 box or multiple box.

Also, I personally would like to see the option to choose between "regular" instances lvl 1-10 (as it is now), and for "mutated" instances, which have all the creatures the same exept mutated style hp. this will cost more to run through, so more time is needed, however it might make level 1 or 2 style instances better to run for those that want loot specifically from those keys?

Instances are like huge mobs. Imagine u go hunt Dasp Stalker or Eomon, kill 10 and then make fundamental conclusions based on your loot.

My 6 or 7 runs (mostly lvl 7) had about 85% return, with current Arkoin MU - not bad at all.
However, i can't say loot in instances is OK for the same reason - too small sample size...

All loot in 1 box means a lot more runs will qualify as HoFs and thus (potentially) bring in players from other planets. Good businessman always thinks how to advertise his goods! ;)

But that would mean we could also get a 4k ped hof from a key 1 instance. Show me one of those and i'll agree with you :)

Exactly. An "uber hof" from an instance is one where you get a 200% return. If instances were the same as hunting big mobs, we should see 10x, 50x multipliers... but we don't.

That is how they should work, but they don't. There is no variance in the loot amounts. How many mobs would you shoot if you knew you were garuanteed 70% return, with no chance of any more.

I know you think what you're saying is true, but it's not. I've tracked every pec of my loot for the last two years, I am well aware how it should behave. The instances are broken, finished and klaar.

Ok, instances are NOT like huge mobs.

So, you can't make fundamental conclusions after killing 10 mobs. It's a basic knowledge and ppl will laugh at u if u try.
Instances, however, are NOT like mobs so with instances you can decide based on 10 runs.

    Hmmm...

Maybe it's only a coincidence that i had the same average return in and outside instances.
Maybe i'll start having below 50% returns from now on.
There's been complaints about instances as before. Remember how after a certain VU ppl started complaining that beakons are broken? Meaning, loot in them.
Maybe the instances are/were indeed broken again?
Some ppl have found out they are, i have no data to prove otherwise, so lets agree they broken.

Anyway, yesterday we ran lvl 10 with a friend, about 650 ped in each, about 1150 out total + 100 ped total in MU (spleen oil).
No items, but at least we tried. From where i stand, skies r not falling... ;)

That is NOT what I was saying. I could show what I mean using my logs but it would be a waste of my time. You believe whatever you want.

Run enough of these and you'll see what I mean.

Show me exact numbers for your Key 10 yesterday. Assuming you killed all mobs your costs are off by 4-500 ped.

Sry, yes, i think u're right.

    Made a mistake in my post - it wasn't 10 but 9
We planned to run lvl 10 at first but the last moment my friend said he has a bad feeling about 10, so we decided to go for 9 instead.
Explains why our decay was smaller.

On the other hand, 1150 HoF from lvl 9 was highest Aakas HoF in the table that day, with many lvl 10 below it, and we still didn't make any profit, even after MU.

If i take all this into account, it actually proves your point.

Standard returns for a 9 if you kill all mobs is usually within 100 ped of the number you posted, about half that if you skip mobs. A full clear of a 9 takes about 350k hps and cost me around 1600 ped (don't have my spreadsheet with me unfortunately).

A full clear of a 10 cost a little less than that, but I haven't run one since the update so I can't be sure.

If you have a look at the numbers on Tracker you'll notice that everyone gets within ~10% of the same number if they do a full clear, and this is my major complaint, there doesn't seem to be any variation, it just spits out a standard 70-73%. which would be ok if MU compensated (which it doesn't) and if they stated that it works differently from from hunting (and in fact DD stated quite clearly in his interview that it should work the same as hunting).

Before the update I ran about 6-7 key 10's solo and many others in team, so that's about 100 looting instances (counting each chest seperately), with no multipliers observed. Add that to the data I can observe from tracker and I have to come to the conclusion that:

    a) The looting algorithm for instances is broken; or
    b) It's INTENDED to work differently from hunting and we've been lied to.

I like the instances. i'd like to continue running them. But my pedcard (which is larger than most) can't take much more of this.
