Important! Mutated mobs

    Hi guys,

    We have received some support cases regarding mutated mobs not counting towards the missions of the non-mutated mobs so I'm going to explain the Mutated mobs in a bit more detail.

    The mutated mobs is not a new maturity of the non-mutated mobs and is actually a separate mob all together with its own maturities. This is in order to make a new line of DNA cartridges available to future LA owners so they can set themselves apart from the rest of the planet. Due to the mobs being a new class of mob instead of a maturity they will not count towards the regular non-mutated missions.

    I will be adding in missions to these mutated mobs in the future as their DNA gets discovered.

    Currently the mutated mobs on planet is a temporary spawn and a bit of a sneak peak into these mobs.

    There is a zombie mission chain on ROCKtropia that includes many different types of zombies. Those are all separate mobs, so it's possible to include a list of mobs to a single mission instead of just one.

    With most spawns the % of mutated specimen is pretty low, but with some others it's near 50% - in fact makes missions for those mobs currently unavailable, or at least pointless.

    Temporary or not, obviously there's something you have overlooked and have to fix. ;)

    The Oratan killpoint mission chain is setup like this already. The thing is we want to separate these mutated mobs out and give them their own mission chains like already mentioned. Its not easy to modify the already existing missions because all the rewards needs to be recalculated and that might upset players that has recently completed those missions, it would also result in players that is close to completion of those missions receiving an unfair bonus on completion.

    Thank you for clearing that up Chris.
    You might want to take a look at the Halix spawn where I'm hunting, Dauntless Firebase Academeny I believe it is. Quite in the middle of Sentosa with the PvP-training Area northwest of it. First 5-10 Halix thick it's like 20% mutated, but further on it's >80% mutated.
    I am I correct that some mutated species will become extinct when their DNA isn't made? Or will the parts that makes a species mutated always continue to drop?

    I often had when entering the spawn that there are high concentrations of mutated mobs, I figure the previous hunter had avoided them ... personally I go out of my way to kill them however :D

    The HP of the Mutated Young puts it somewhere between normal Old and Provider (varies a little, depending on the mob). Means the Mutated Young does not become the new lowest maturity. Correct me if i'm wrong but afaik, as long as the current base mobs that were used to calculate the rewards have not changed there's no need to change anything.:huh:

    Sounds fine to me as long as it's explained. Glad you have plans for missions just PLEASE give them some storyline! I really want more storyline missions. not kill X amount of Y. I love the new Armour one thats a great start but more like it. i dont even care about rewards i'd like storyline revealed as my reward. Like what the heck really happened with the ancient arkadians and the oratan.

    Most of the mutants I've seen so far seem to be about double HP of the normal Young, with little difference in dmg/atk. However, the Mutated Riptor seems to be overly strong compared to the non-mutant Riptors. Last night I was hunting small Hadraada in SW desert, and I kept having these Mutant Riptors spawn on me, and had to switch armors everytime to take them out. They seem to hit much harder than a Riptor Old or Provider, while only having a bit more HP than a young. Maybe there are 2 mutant types, one has increased HP while the other has increased atk?

    Over all I do like the mutants so far. I don't know if it's just me, but they tend to loot quite well. Seems like about 50% of them that I kill drop an elevated loot or global.

    Agree on the elevated loot part. Will have to start hunting them again.

    Are there any mutated mobs still around? I have been looking for some since I got onto Arkadia a couple of weeks ago, with no luck.

    I don't think they are still out in the wild for the moment. A-Team is working on something i'm sure to clear all the issues mentionned in the posts in this thread and the Owner of Sanctuary Cove would like to bring some back to life, but is still missing some DNA parts to make this happen. So for the time being I think they are off the charts :)

    All mutated mobs were completely removed a VU ago.

    As I understood it, that was as planned, because those mobs were meant as a 'sampler'.
    And now the only way to get them, would be when spawns are made from DNA on LA's (see above post).

    It is my understanding that from now on, mutated mobs will not spawn anywhere but land areas. That would be Sanc Cove and LA1 atm. I believe any complete mob DNAs can be used to spawn mutated mobs. So it's just a matter of letting the LA owners know there is enough interest in them.

    Plus we need all the required for DNA needs to drop. As far as I know we so far only have complete DNA for instance mobs.

    if im correct each mob now has dropped 3/4 needed DNA parts (or atleast most)... and i would assume we wont see the needed parts before some LAs are sold.. and for the mutateds it requires the normal mob dna+ the mutagen thingie to make mutated mobs... and i think it will only be single maturity and only mutateds and not normals.. and as far as i noticed during the "event" the mutated mobs didnt differ in loot and actually were worse than normal because they did not count to the missions.. but i think chris has stated that there will be missions when DNAs appear... and i really hope there will be something else in these mobs also.. something to make them... unique... maybe a random boss mob spawn *cough* *cough* or something

    I'm pretty sure the A-team said that the mutated mobs will have all maturities available, not just the youngs as in the sampler last year.
