In Celeste Quarry on the ramp leading to the foreman house.

All other "bound" items can be placed in storage/estates, my "stupid RT baseball bat" is lying under the bar in my Billton apartment, for instance :) And so does NIP and many other things.

Cool thanks, that L baseball bat is the reason i am very wary of these bound to ava things.... sooner or later well run out of space to put all the broken L crap :)

It is unwise to base decisions like this on the opinion and behaviour of the players. If Mod Faps were available in the TT, I can guarantee every single player would buy one, but that doesn't mean it was a good idea putting them there. I agree with Slither on this one - while I would like to get a set of the armour myself, I am concerned about the detrimental effect it has on the overall economy.

    --->To the whiners<---

Why does everything always have to be about making ped?
Arkadia made a nice deal with a famous company skull candy to provide us with great prices, their headsets are quality!
And in return we have the option to buy this nice UL armor which is as good as gremlin, and we will be paying Skullcandy back for the wonderfull event and oppertunity they gift us.

Were not helping MA here, were helping ourselfs by buying this armor for a few extra peds.
So that this universe will have more offers like these in the future from other companies.
Besides, this armor looks cool as fuck in my opinion.. take it or leave it!

Thanks Ark team and skull candy for this!

I was this close to adding to my previous post that if this is simply a cool feature for those that want something not everyone has, as opposed to a harbinger of the game's direction, then I'm all for it. Now that David has responded, I wish I had just added it then, as that's apparently exactly what it is.

Having said that, I am not overly concerned that there is a markup paid directly to the broker because it is bound to your account and the TT value serves little purpose otherwise (anyone using this armor will know to fully repair in between hunts to achieve full effectiveness and the extra TT value would make a miniscule difference). I guess the real question is whether you are turned off to the armor because of the actual cost vs the cost if you paid TT value.

Anyway, my concern was not about withdrawing per se; rather it was about the overall direction of the game toward a forced non-withdrawal ability. On the one hand, I am a customer who likes to have the unique withdrawal feature to my entertainment choice, even though it's highly unlikely I'll ever exercise it. On the other hand, I understand the business side of it and recognize that it is in the interest of MA and PPs to encourage players to keep their PEDs in-game. However, given that the big unique feature of EU vs other MMOs is the RCE (and therefore the ability to withdraw), I think losing that ability to withdraw is enough to push many players to hold off on that extra $20, $100, etc. this month because they know it is definitely gone. My inner businessman tells me that the withdrawal ability is just enough justification to push a lot of extra money in the game that never would be deposited without that feature.

EDIT: Thanks for the response, David. I like this sort of tie-in with a real company, just like the one with Gunnar.

IMHO you could achieve exactly same by simply adding custom extra field in description (visible when scanning as well), whom originally got that item from mission:
If someone want his own one - he could finish mission.
If someone don't care about that - he could just buy one.

P.S. Peoples asked for similar things for years, so it would be visible who crafted or looted that item etc.
P.P.S. IMHO nontradable items wrong way for game with RCE.

Wait... this armor can't be sold to TT either? It's one thing to make an item bound to the avatar, but why does it have to be unsellable? Certainly the mission broker should mention this... Yes I know Bill warns that it is bound to the avatar, but when I read that I would never have imagined that I wouldn't be able to TT at a later date when/if I decide to leave EU. I know there are other "mission" items (like NIP) that can't be sold, but that's only like 2ped no one cares if they can't get back 2ped. However the Viceroy set has a much greater value of 400ped TT, though probably costing closer to 700ped in materials total +MU. There is quite a difference here, and so this armor set should have some different properties than the NIP, like the ability to TT it.
Considering the cost for the item is 150% of what I receive in return, you (MA and/or A-Team) are already getting paid, so why do you also have to keep the armor's TT value of PED?

So... you will have my $70 and in return I get to use an item for awhile, and then call it a loss? Where does this fit into the RCE system? Like most others in EU, I have some peace of mind knowing that every PED I deposit/spend can potentially be withdrawn later. This "bound" type of items scares me, (the unsellable aspect) and I pray you do not plan to add more.

My guess is that when you purchase it, the entire 150% TT has already gone to Arkadia/MA/Skullcandy, instead of just the 50% that was over the TT value. Non-tradeable items don't scare me, but I also don't see why they shouldn't be TT'd. It would be a more attractive offer if it could be TT'd by the owner at the time they want to sell out. If Arkadia/whoever is only getting the 50% that's above the TT value, then I think someone's getting gipped.

Because if there was no markup THAT would endanger hurting crafters.

If you just want an eco good armor go buy a nice (L) armor with high durability and save a lot peds. Or a nice UL crafted armor. If you want a col pride piece for wearing around to show off then work on this mission >^.^<

    (maybe another thread topic)
Overall direction? Please detail the plethora of ped-locking implementations that Entropia has become known for?

It will hurt crafters in any case because this MU isn't going to them. Luckily Gremlin isn't crafted, but what will crafters say when there will be a mission with, say, a Lich analog for reward?

Of course, and nothing wrong with the selling too. I just noticed that it takes a personal benefit to turn a blind eye to the otherwise dangerous tendencies :)

First movers always pay the big bill - rest that can wait will get it cheaper when the heat has left the marked - nothing new in that.

I was referring to the potential for such a future direction, with no intent to comment one way or another about current/past direction.*

*However, in the not-too-distant past, there was a move that direction, particularly from 2008-2010. The most obvious example was to give out huge TT guns in big HOFs with 50% minimum TT value. Player: "Woohoo! Got an unlimited HL1800!", MA: "Woohoo! Locked up a minimum of 16336 ped!" There are quite a few guns that were dropped with TT values above 5k and 50% minimum TT, thus locking all that ped into the game, as noone is going to sell a rare item to the TT. There was also an increase in higher TT armor and FAPs, which have the same basic effect.

Tiering is another example. "Want to be more eco? Want to do more damage? Just give us some ped." In fact, when tiering was introduced, you had to have a duplicate item to the one you were tiering and you sometimes lost that item.

CLDs are another example. $6million not just locked up in-game, but actually removed from the game in exchange for a virtual promise to pay virtual money based on the amount of virtual money spent. Yet, according to the terms of the game that you agree to every time you log in, the virtual promise entitles you to nothing outside of the virtual world.

I understand the business side of it and am not necessarily opposed to any move that direction. However, there has been a clear effort to remove various unlimited items from the game through the process of improving those items, so when something is introduced where we get a slightly better armor than the armor that huge numbers of players own, but replacing their armor means that they permanently lock up the ped in-game, it makes one wonder if that might be the direction the game is going to go.

And...we can expect the MU on all those items used to get the armor to increase...isn't that a good thing for the economy? We pay for haircuts, too...and I can't sell that when I chip-out, either. This is a new thing. Everything has pros and cons. (L) had a backlash when it started, but now it's widely accepted, even preferred. Do you own any UL armor? Do you realize how many peds are tied up in that just to give you full protection? You are not required to buy the Viceroy. It sounds fun to get and I need a Gremlin-esque set of armor, so I will look into getting some myself. Sometimes it's not what it costs or what it can be sold for. Sometimes it is the "fun" and sense of accomplishment you are paying for.
