Note: If you look at the information section of an item you will see a bunch of numbers associated with each tier. The higher the number the faster it tiers. All other things equal, when you buy an item from auctions it pays to look at these values before picking which one to bid on. I have a corrosive chip at tier level 9 right now because it has crazy high tier values. Unfortunately, who wants to put an enhancer on a corrosive I chip :(

You all probably knew that, but I figured there might be someone out that that could benefit from this advice.

Actually, *I* am that someone. The last time I left PE was right before tiering was implemented. I looked at the number and just figured they were the same for EVERY item of the same type. Nope! After reading this I compared different weapons and sure enough, some have much better numbers than others.

That being said, I have some items "stuck" on tiers that have better numbers than the previous tier. They just won't "ping" and increase their tier even after being upgraded.

A couple odd tiering experiences are once I tiered a weapon up and it jumped .3 into the next tier. Another time I had a weapon tier twice with consectutive shots (1.2 to 1.3 then 1.3 to 1.4, back-to-back!).

While we can use these numbers as guidelines, there still seems to be a lot of luck involved.

Thanks for the info! I will keep that in mind when selecting future equipment, especially after carfting runs when deciding which to sell and which to keep for personal use.

    Uber-Ark 0?

As a follow-up to this discussion, I made a few guns and checked their tiers. I found this one in the pile. Some only had double-digit numbers. Not this bad-boy:

I know. Now I am on the hunt for high-tiering numbered stuff. I am going to cycle out my current gear for stuff with higher numbers as it becomes available.

Soundly. That is awesome! Looks burned out, though. It must have rocket before it did...

So far it seems that at least the numbers stay relative meaning I haven't seen a 1500-98-1243-1122-34 yet. It seems if they have high numbers in one tier, all tiers have it.

This could be a cottage industry: finding and reselling high-tiering gear. More bang for your ped, so to speak. It seems I have a new hobby ;)

It still has shots left on it! Not too many though. I haven't tested it with enhancers ever; it just sits proudly in my storage lol.

Mmhmm that's what I think as well.

Is this info still relevant, with all the updates to the game since 2011? Can we get an updated version of this info?
