    hi,

yes, this is an whiny post and i dont do that easily
i just saw the results of svenas instance run and she looted besides dna 8 uberarmorparts in 1 run

nothing against svena, but i feel that hunters are getting the short end here,
i have around 1340 solo globals on arkadia and also quite a lot in team

and i have never looted an ul armorpart at arkadia, nor any1 else i think during hunting

the message you are sending here is that "regular"hunting is kinda pointless, since the good stuff only drops in instances

is there uberhaupt ul armor lootable in hunting ?

I would have to say that while I haven't seen any UL armour pieces dropped from regular hunting on Arkadia, I would completely disagree with hunters having the short end of the stick.

Just off the top of my head, I've seen everything from UL Smuggler weapons and FAPs looted on mobs themselves, to a large amount of events tailored specifically to hunters (for example Riptor Rampage in late 2012). Even further, there are numerous missions with rewards only for hunters on Arkadia.

Everyone knows that to do a Golden Instance requires large amounts of PED upfront. Those who do the Golden Keys take a large risk. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't, as we've seen by past runs.

IMO, hunters have the most exciting profession in Entropia. There's always a chance you can loot a nice UL item, or even any item in general. In contrast, look at mining. When you mine, you get ore and enmatter. That's about it ;) (although I like the direction Arkadia is going with treasure and having the odd item drop... miners need some love too!)

Not intending to weigh in on this subject, but don't you technically have to be a hunter to do the instances? Just sayin'

I agree, most hunters will never find any UL equipment, so hunting is kinda demotivating at least for me. But I'm not sure treasure hunters and instance runners are doing any better now either. They have a lower TT return and they aren't finding UL armors (except for Svena and the occasional drop of mah'ketta in treasure hunting). There are a few UL swords that still drop from instances, so you could find one or two of those, but no UL armor anymore except for the golden door. Arkoin and key part MU isn't enough to count as a "good" loot after accounting for the lower TT returns.

I'd have thought it would be based on Ark population, but our population has increased and I don't see more of the UL stuff dropping.

As loot theories go, lucky/unlucky avatars is one of the weakest ones around. In real life, being lucky is often a matter of being aware of whats going on around you and being ready to to take opportunities that arise. I suspect that is also the case within game. Svena had awesome instance loot this time but consider the risk taken to obtain that loot. It's taken key grinding to obtain the the bp. It's taken instance grinding to get all the ingredients and its taken the guts to first click the bp and then use the key which may have produced bugger all at the end.

On Arkadia, unlimited armour is treasure. If you want it and you don't want to buy it, you either mine for it or you run instances. Hunting (except in instances) doesn't give you access to unl armour. Instead you get L armour, L and UNL weapons, MF chips, esi. That's not so bad. Totally agree that L armour can be hard to sell for MU. I don't know what the answer is there. The chips are good but the balance is wrong with supply swamping demand. Hopefully that can be tweaked next release (hint, drop more animal parts for craftting instead). But most L weapons sell for good MU. And of course the unl weapons are always great to loot. Now I see a lot of the same names looting the unl weapons but thats because those are the avatars hunting day after day. More mob kills equals more chances to loot. That's not luck. That's hard work and perseverance.

Ark devs have also tried to address the issue of MU on hunter loot with the addition on animal parts used in crafting higher end gear. The problem is they have made it so rare that there is very little impact on actual profitability of hunting. I have a number of new bps I am yet to use owing to lack of sufficient ingredients. They need to significantly boost the drop rate of these stackables in the next release so that it is in available in sale-able quantities and, even at some reduction in MU will make a real difference to the returns of dedicated hunters.

haha the ENTIRE game is tailored for hunters and your complaining you don't get a fair shake? Uhh I DO believe it has been HIGHLY publicized since a year before Arkadias birth that the focus would be on the treasure hunting AND the instances.. I would say if you want things handed to you hand over fist as a hunter that Caly is where you should be.. They are good for favoring uber hunters there. BTW try being a miner.. we get the shaft paying for you hunters to have fun.. not a single way for a miner to get free skills and easy attrib points...so we are the truly neglected souls in EU..

I'm not primarily referring to Svena's key runs. Svena has probably run more instances than anyone since their release, and deserves to get some good payoffs in the golden instance. But I have spoken about these issues to more than a few players who have bought bulk key 10s (and others) from me. Some of them are able to loot the good stuff consistently, others aren't. Call it luck or whatever you wish... instance loot is undoubtedly better for some players than for others. There's really no other way to explain how one player can run a few level 10s and get 3 codex while another player, grinding during the same time period, runs 60 or more and gets not a single one? Instance loot is not random. Maybe the conspiracy buffs are correct and certain avatars are tagged as "PR" accounts for MA, maybe it's related to certain skill levels or other in-game activities. Whatever the causes, whatever you want to call it... instance loot is better for some players than others; it's not just a matter of grinding enough, or at the right time.

Instances are supposed to be a critical part of the Arkadia economy. It's not a good idea for the A-team to use a loot system that favors certain avatars over others, and I hope they take this issue seriously and get MA to change it. We've already lost some of our best key grinders due to this phenomenon.

Unfortunately, the golden keys are inaccessible to most players, because they require a combination of high-level crafter profession and high-level hunter. No one player that combines both professions will not sell crafted keys, because it's his chance.
But I see no reason for whine. At Arkadia, I found a very good creatures and a much better loot. For example, I do not plan going back to Calypso, because Arkadia is better for me. I'm just able to create a cash buffer, which is a barrier to a permanent life in Arkadia for many players.
No reason to loot unlimited armor here (i looted two Mah'ketta parts in mining), because you can loot here something different, with the similar price. Just sell this loot and buy Angel, Shadow or Sandstormer... Perseus (L) is great armor, you can loot it everyday :)
In 1-10 instances you can loot unlimited melee weapons, and unlimited MF chips. It is not bad.
For golden keys and Golden Door loot you must working hard here, on Arkadia, not jump from planet to planet, in search of a better life, and Arkadia will reward you for it :)

Hogwash. Instances are effectively high hp mobs. Exceedingly high hp mobs. The variability in loot will be extreme and your chance of looting a great unl piece of armour or high mu key piece in a small number of runs is going to be low. Success or failure to loot rare items in 60 runs is not statistically significant.

I have looted some nice UL Armour in the lower instances. The only issues I have is the lack of accessibility to the Golden Keys. If the Golden instance is the only place high end UL armour is going to drop, then it's only a couple of players who will loot it. Surely, level 9 and 10 instances should be dropping some Sandstormer parts etc. I would like to see more Golden key components and BPs dropping as well, the more components and BPs available the more affordable it is. I respect the hunters using the Golden instance, but I have to say this Dave "Fair go mate" to the rest of us having access to the ultimate Golden keys :)

I have to respectfully disagree with you.Instances are NOT effectively high level mobs. I know this was stated by a member of the A-team, and I believe this is what MA told them. However, I do believe it is misinformation, whether accidental or intentional I don't know. Regular mob loot multipliers change the quantity factor (TT value) while instance loot multipliers change the quality factor (rare, UL items, arkoins, key parts). These "good" loots typically have about the same TT value as "bad" loots. This is not the way normal mob loots behave. Is there a mob that you can hunt where 95 out 100 loots give you 75-80% TT return? Where you can hunt and not receive even as much as a 2x loot multiplier and end up at a 75-80% TT return? Loot does not work the same in instances as with regular mobs.

I'm mindful that we are starting to stray from the topic so I'll try to be brief.

I haven't seen data that would provide sufficient support for a different loot function within instances. I did check your instance log and I agree the results are consistent with your assertion but its such a small sample that no reasonable conclusions can be drawn. Anecdotally, (and I acknowledge this is no proof either) I have had good runs and bad runs from a TT perspective.

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki

After almost 1000 (miss 3) global / hof on Korwil - i should have seen most of the L items and other good loot they give.

What still surprice me is that i havnt seen any UL items ever droped from them to me or other of the big hunters. So im pretty sure they cant.

Smaller mobs drops a lot of Smuggler stuff ????

Not enough ped spend on them you say - he he i have cycled mill on them.

I'm not really going by my log since I haven't had time (or peds) to run & record that many instances lately. But ask anyone who runs a lot of keys (eco) what their TT return is, there is not a lot of variability. And you're right, it's off topic.
