obviously i have or produce arkoins or i would not be posting this, something investment advisors should mention when they give advice. :)

if you loot arkoins why sell to someones order of 130% when people are buying on buyout for 185-200%?
you are just funding this persons gameplay!
they are taking your koins and relisting them atm at 165%, a profit of 30%+ each time.
some other people are taking your koins, buying the armor, and selling it on calypso for 200%, a 65% profit each time.

why are you funding these people and not trying to cover your losses in the instances? :)

the last time i checked this had resulted in the arkoins falling below the buyout of this manipulater, so not only are the people falling for his trick not very bright, the manipulater is not that bright either.

of course the market decides the price and bla bla, but why not be patient, get a decent price for your goods, you deserve that not some parasite feeding off you. :)

What is the warning, where is the price manipulation?

    /Rant off ?

Seems like anyone buying arkoins for a fair price right now is the worst person in the world by your standards... Those dirty bastards!

i didnt mention any names, but it seems like someone feels defensive about it :)
the person in question, who i didnt name, is trying to make 30% + profit from doing nothing, it has nothing to do with a fair price and you know it. if the person in question wanted a fair price why relist at 30%+ profit, why dont they use the arkoins themselves?

Resellers get a really bad name on Calypso, but from what I can see in the above (Not on Arkadia atm):

Player A is getting a reasonable return in instances, and a good chunk of Arkoins in that return (75% seems average - 130% on rare arkoins isn't break even)

    Players B,C,D also have Arkoins.

Investor F is trying to get a land area.

Player E has a stockpile being sold @132% to an agreeable avatar but using the Auction. - This avoids meeting the "known" buyer with sufficient PED and Interest to want the coins, but also leaves an indelible mark on the Arkoin "trend MU" (Completely different to True MU, which is day to day: if someone paid 500% for 1ped Arkoins and it was the only sell, people would list at 300%-450%, by the next day the item would level off, then diminish towards true MU)

Investor G has a Buy Order at 132%? - This is encouraging a hunters turnover fueling risk, but is not market manipulation.

Which is it? someone is actively selling to an interested party at bucketloads of loss, with the potential to gain it back through avatar-avatar trading? or there is a buy order yelling "continue hunting if you can afford the lower MU i'm paying, in your budget"

it is as simple as i said, a player is saying that 130% is a fair price, has order on auction, is buying in the street at that price, but turns around and is trying to sell it on auction at 165% :)
and this while the people doing the instances and being silly enough to believe this person pay the price, now if this person was providing a service to people for a reasonable fee as a trader i could understand, but 35% is unheard of really. :)
and had/has the side effect of bringing the price down for everyone doing instances.
of course its really simple for me, i can stop doing instances if arkoins drop to far in price, not my loss but arkadia's :)

i dont quite understand why Oboy Berto Oboyto from the Delta Force soc was in such a hurry to try to defend this practice, but maybe you can judge for yourself why? ;)

I have bought a few arkoins sure, I have listed a few on the auction.. But if my few hundred ped availible for trading has made you that mad its probably a good thing you stop doing aakas instances and take a break!

Btw, I asked a few reasonable questions. Where is the "price manipulation" you claimed in your heading, and whose doing it!

What are you warning us of? Dire consequences? A fiscal cliff? Talk to me, lets find out who these dirty bastards are!

Fallen, there's no price manipulation in ordering and reselling arkoins.

People who make orders are trying to get them for as little as possible, people who list buyouts are trying to get them for as much as possible. At the moment there are several market pressures on Arkoins, including supply, demand, and values based on multiple things (value of land area, value of guns, value of armor). This has resulted at the moment in an 18 point difference between Arkoin buyouts and orders. The highest order is currently at 142% and the lowest buyout is at 159.7%. If traders and resellers think they can make peds by bridging that gap, then they're welcome to try.

Move on... nothing to see here....

    Just FYI...

Selling to an order does NOT have any effect on market value. Purchasing from auction at a BO doesn't change the market. Now, ofc, I could be wrong, but I have tested this...

I purchased an item, at BO, that had NO auction history for week or day. After I made that purchase, there was STILL no market history for week or day... even several day later. This leads me to believe that only items have no set BO on auction, or are won buy an individual below the listed BO effect market value.

Again, I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure this is how it works... so, go ahead, sell those arkoins to orders if you want to fund someone else's gameplay. It won't change market value.

Yes. You are wrong. Sometimes it doesnt update right away. Everything on auction contributes to market data.

I think arkoin price should be around 200%-300% we are talking about a LAND AREA here, that is for sale, not some apartment that there are 20 more for sale....
and i also think ppl that are selling for 130-140% should reconsider there options
even whit arkoins sold at 170% u are not making profit from hunting the instance.... so??? but i guess some just like to loose ped :D

Well, no one is going to buy the LA, if arkoins can only be bought at 200 %. :)

But then again, as an instance-runner or ex-instance runner :p, I'd say, if arkoins sold for 200 - 300 %, WOOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH.

It seems though that's an impossibility to say the least. When arkoin mu goes up, everyone rushes to do instances. Arkoins flood auction and MU goes down due to trader undercutting and player undercutting.

So i dunno. i'd say it's not so worth it to do the instances for arkonis, unless you're patient and dump arkoins when MU rises.

I agree with op. Its not wrong for resellers to try to earn a few peds eventhough i dont fancy them very much, but the point is its stupid to sell coins for 130% :) Reasonable price for coins is 187-200% if u ask me. If u dont agree with me then use your arkoins to buy Perseus armor and sell it for 200% ;)

It's funny how opposed a lot of people are to other people making some peds, even if there is no manipulation.

The price is not what one person wants it to be, it's what it ends up being from supply and demand.

imo market manipulation is when someone buys all available supplies and sell it higher because of low supply. so i dont think thats the issue.

i think that the behavior as mentioned by OP can be seen as ' noob ass rape'

same behavior as selling jesters or mann's to noobs.

people are free to do that but gives a bad name.

btw, oboy, i dont know you but i have heard you are non trusty. dunno or that is true, i dont care, but if even i hear that (no personal trading) you are obviously killing your reputation.

I was scammed of thousands of PEDS, and was attacked by rocktropian fanboys, hardly something I was in the wrong of.

I made a lot of peds trading. Sometimes when one makes a good trade, someone makes a bad trade... Jelousy out of control turned into rage but my hands are clean of anything bad. Infact friends in my soc have items loaned out to me now and have for weeks worth hundreds of peds. Its no questions if it will be returned or not. I have put in my soc leaders hands items worth thousands of ped and I have 100% trust in them ^^ . People who know me will never say bad things about me. With fame comes good / bad. Not everyone needs to like me. I have never broken trust with a single entropian and have a spotless reputation when it comes to facts.

N.B. Of course I don't know if that true or not.

This thread seems to have gotten out of hand; I have been watching it for awhile and things have devolved into a pointless blame game and accusations which do not add anything of value.

I've modded posts in compliance with Rule 2e and 2j and have closed this thread. Please PM me if you have any concerns.
