Im trying to find a place where I can see the damage interval on weapons.
Entropedia just says damage or dps.

Thank you

I found the answer for my question. Ill post it here as it may be useful for new players. (This is to reduce overkill on the caraboks im planning to start on)

http://www.entropedia.info/Page.aspx?page=damage+interval

I have seen the low damage weapons on RT (cheapass) but I read that it brakes fast, maybe the Cyrene TT Laser Rifle or Handgun is a good choice?

The Arkadian TT weapons are supposed to be reasonably eco.

For brand new players, they don't need to worry about overkill on carabok since they're only doing like 3 dmg even with a gun that does max 6. Just grab one of the TT weapons and have at it! You might want to avoid the blades tho, save those for halix.

Wouldnt 3 hp overkill mean 30% overkill? And only 50-60% return instead of 80%+ ( if you believe in the 90% returnrate)?

Yes, but to get an average of 3 hp overkill, you'd have to be maxed on a weapon that does 8 max damage. This is because your average damage will be about midway between the minimum and maximum, and your average overkill will be half of that. So for the CAP-TTR, which does 3-6 damage when maxed, you will do about 4.5 damage per shot, and half of that is about 2.3, which is only 23% overkill. A player who is inside the SIB period will do even less average overkill than that. The calculations are slightly more complicated than that, but at the end of the day, both the ASI-TTR and the CAP-TTR are good weapons for beginners hunting carabok, especially while they are in the SIB period. Once you've maxed your first gun, you'll most likely want to move up to bigger mobs like halix or jori while you skill up to use your next bigger weapon, and the TT gun is also very good for hunting those mobs.

Hunters starting out will need to weather a bit of ped drain as they skill up to be able to max their first weapon and use it efficiently, so be prepared for that, and that is a bigger factor than overkill when using the smaller TT guns.

Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated! I just want to start smart, because I think if I learn wrong from the start, it will give me unessesary expenses later. Hence my questions :)

I will listen to your advice and try these weapons :)

thank you kindly

Rather than worry too much about how many pts of overkill, I would look at average cost to kill based on average damage per click and cost per click. For example for the Arkadian TT weapons (ignoring misses):
Weapon

Max
Dam
(maxed*)

Average
Dam per
Click

Average
Clicks to
Kill (10 hp mob)

Cost Per
Click (pecs)

Average cost
to kill

Ark-TT R

7

5.25

2

1.75

3.5

Asi-TT R

5

3.75

3

1.25

3.75

Cap-TT R

6

4.5

3

1.5

4.5

Law-TT R

8

6

2

2

4
From the above, the Ark-TT R is the most eco of the Arc TT weapons to use against the carabok. Now these calculations assume "maxed" weapons which for these weapons is lvl 6 damage profession. You really need to do this calculation for your own level.

And of course you can also do similar calculations for the weapons from other planets.

Regards,
KikkiJikki

You're welcome. There is a lot to learn about the game, but that's part of what makes it good: always something more to discover. :)

And what KikkiJikki said is very true... look at your real cost to kill x number of mobs with various weapons, not just theoretical numbers. :) I did pretty well on Carabok using a weapon that had a 7 to 14 damage interval (Labrys axe). Many mobs are one-shot, others I would finish with a small weapon. I think I got about 20% overkill, but it made hunting them quite fast, and that's what I wanted for skilling.

http://www.entropedia.info/Chart.aspx?chart=Weapon
Gives you max dam and cost per click. The rest of the values are calculated.
Av dam per click = 0.75 * max dam (when maxed).
Av clicks to kill = how many times do I need to do av dam to reach 10 pts or higher
Av cost to kill = Cost per click * Av clicks to kill.

You could also have a look at this website:

http://eldslott.org/entropia/

It doesn't have all mobs on it (only the ones where regen rate is known), but I've found it to be very usefull. It can also help with choosing finishers and amps.

Another way is to do an actual test in the field. This is the only method that takes into account all the little factors like skills, regeneration, healing costs, hunting style, armor choice, misses and evades, user errors, etc.

Go out and kill 50 mobs using one set of gear, record your total costs (based on how many shots were required for each weapon). You can count shots or you can use weapon or amp decay to "count" number of shots fired). Also include healing & armor costs. Then repeat the test using different gear or a different technique. Compare the total cost to kill between the two. Just make sure you're hunting mobs of the same maturity and that you kill exactly the same numbers in each test. Higher mobs have mission counters to make that easy; with Carabok you have to manually keep track how many you're hunting. Note that you can't just use your ammo counter to keep track of number of shots, since as you loot ammo, the number of shots remaining goes up.

Remember that the most eco setup when you're a brand new avatar may be different after you've maxed a few weapons. And.... you don't have to obsess about calculations and eco if it makes the game less fun for you. There are all kinds of people in EU. Some love to find the most eco way to hunt, others just want basic gear recommendations (use maxed weapons, avoid too much overkill, don't wear armor that takes too many 1.0 hits, keep your armor decay under 5% of your total cost), and others just want to shoot with a specific weapon setup and couldn't care less about wasting peds. That's one of the great things about EU. You can play however you like. Analyze to your heart's content -- or not.
