    New Avatar System
    A new upgraded avatar system has been implemented that will bring Entropia Universe to the forefront of graphics technology in an MMO with highly detailed and fully customizable new avatars. The new avatars are significantly enhanced with over twice as many polygons as their predecessors for surprising fidelity.

    New Features

    • The threat level calculation for creatures has been adjusted to more accurately reflect difficulty and danger level.
    • The chance to miss has been slightly decreased when shooting at creatures.
    • The cost of ammo and decay has been removed when firing a weapon that is not aimed at a target, such as into the air or ground. (This change does not affect weapons with area of effect damage).
    • The cost to equip armor parts has been removed.
    • When in combat, the text “MISS” has been changed to “EVADE”. These messages will be further refined in a later release to more accurately indicate the actual outcome of each attack attempt and provide better information to participants.

    Known Issues

    • Locked movement can occur for Body Sculptor Designers after closing the Body Sculpting UI. In such cases a relog will correct the issue.

    • Locked movement can occur when trying to enter Avatar Creation areas that are full. In such cases a relog will correct the issue.
    • Due to last minute integration issues, makeup masks will not be available in this release, Makeup masks will be activated in the release patch, expected in one week.
    • Makeup masks created during the avatar creation process are not visible in the Start Room, but will become visible again once your avatar arrives on a planet for the first destination.
    • Female makeup masks appear fully decayed when arriving on a planet for the first time. This is a visual bug only, the masks are not decayed. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming patch.



    MindArk and the Planet Partners strive to ensure a smooth and problem-free Version Update. Nevertheless, even after extensive testing some issues may arise after release. Such issues are often addressed via mini-patches directly after a release and in subsequent patches. If you feel that the possibility of encountering minor issues or bugs directly after a Version Update affects your gameplay to an extent that Entropia Universe is not enjoyable, please wait until the mini-patches have been released and any last minute issues have been resolved.

    So I wonder what happened now on Arkadia. I just went on to hunt oro as I am about to complete this IFN mission atm and recognised that oro young eg. went from lvl 13 to lvl 7.


    In the release notes of 'Planet Arkadia Update 2012.7' you stated that:

    I am very eager to know now, why there was a need to adjust the threat level of Arkadian mobs? As it did sound like everything is OK. Personally, I always thought that threat level of pretty much all Arkadian creatures made a lot of sense.

    Can you please confirm weather or not this adjustment to a lower thread lvl in the case of oro eg. does lead to a decreased average skillgain when interacting with this mob?

    I spent a fifteen minutes looking at carabok just now and it appears that it IS possible that skill gains have been decreased along with "level number". This isn't definitive, just preliminary. I'll need to do more testing to determine whether this is actually the case (I don't want to spend several hours doing that atm).

    I have been on them for 3,5 hrs so far and let me assure you that it does seem that skill gains have been nerfed accordingly. I will however give it a few days to get a quick average just to see if it's even worth hunting them anymore. Also, they no longer drop eye oil and are now dropping muscle oil in it's place. I am wondering just what other changes to loot have occurred and what mobs are worth hunting now, if any.

    Edit: So, after 5 hrs my skill gains are about 50% less than what they once were. Will keep on to see if it's a one off thing or a true nerf...

    are you talking weapon skills or evader skills?

    Weapons ATM. That was what jumped right out when I was checking the gains. Of course all this can be just cyclic too. The other skills such as evade seemed to be about the same but I always try to maximize the amount of hits from Carabok.

    I am going to be doing this over the next few days to get a quick assessment though. If it's just cyclic, it'll even out fairly quickly.

    It would be really good if we could get a statement from some official here !!

    Personally, I doubt it was only the displayed creature lvl that was altered because it doesnt make much sense.
