    Hey.

Just wanted to write a quick tutorial on how I play when I do my daily heavy grinding on mobs (500+ day)

I do not even have to use the mouse when playing like this but I do it now and then anyway when im not watching a movie or so while I grind .

This is how I automate my hunting.

    1. Use the "Select Next Target" button on tab, which I press to select the closest Mob, now target is locked so you cant miss when shooting.

    2. Use the "Toggle Auto-use Tool" to start killing the mob, then press it again to stop shooting when mob is dead. I have this on the "E" keyboardbutton.

    3. When the mob is dead I use the "Loot" action which I have on "R" on my keyboard. Now you run to the corpse and loot it automaticly.

So what have we, 4 buttons to press to kill a mob, rinse and repeat! :)

This is prob common sense to many but I just wanted to share this with everyone anyways! :) It saves my mouseclicking hand lots of pain :)

Take care and have a great day!

1, you will MISS regardless manual or automated shooting
2 , auto use is NERFED on aim speed and range off use

this strategy will work nice when you alone on radar , in crowed areas it will rise chance of uwelcomed Kill steal

its for lazy ppl who like to watch how AI fights AI

i prefer manual moving ,aiming and shooting ,cause i can aim faster and shoot on full range
and i realy dont like failed to interact whit target msg

Iwas not talking about hit rate, I meant miss as in pointing your aim beside your target :)

    Cheers

I use this a lot when hunting. Manual is more fun, of course, but it's hard on the wrists if you're grinding for a long time. The range/interact problem is a real pain, but a trick that often helps is to jump or jump and move to the side when you can't interact. You still won't get as much range as on manual, but it helps.

    My setup is:

    Delete key = auto-use
    End Key = Auto run
    Page Down = Next Target
    Arrows = move..
O/Insert (Num Pad) = Main gun select
Enter (num pad) = second gun
Mouse Scroll Button = Show health bar

Still takes two hands, but is fast.

its all cool, but something to think of is, sometimes whit auto use skill, after u killed the monster, it will fire again, and even consume u amo, so best is to stop whit 1 hit before, and use manual click for last hit. I tryed it and it happens, not always but still i dont like throwing aways ped. :D

This depends on your weapon and the size of the mob you're hunting. Hunting carabok with a rapid fire gun can be difficult not to over shoot sometimes. Hunting bigger mobs with a slower gun, all you need is to use the loot key on the keyboard at the right time and it's unlikely you'll over shoot.

I love this. I have also noticed that i am able to hunt a bit faster, in big packs, using the target key and auto running, instead of spinning in circles manually looking for the next mob.

    Hi,

For sure, this is the "game generated miss" - even if you stand right in front of the mob, have it at full screen size, you still can miss if the game decides so. This is unavoidable.

But when manual aiming, you have another possibility to miss - some of the many, many shots you fire in a session will inevitably be mis-aimed by your side, due to lag, crossed eyes because of over-fatigue, or simply bad luck. Additionally! And regarding the number of shots in a session (and your personal skill) this can sum up nicely.

So I prefer auto-aiming in zoomed-out 3rd person mode, with nicely arranged dragged out health bars, sorted in the order to kill. And while I whack down one mob with auto-tool I already check for my next victim (and for newly spawned ones in my back ...) - I don't use "next target" because it too often got me into "crowding situations" ...

Have to say I'm melee, this might make a difference. I always use a rifle first, and I nearly always use a low-cost finisher. And for some strange reason the "loot" action doesn't really work for me when bound to a key - I have "walk to" turned on, but most often it just don't do anything :/ So I just click the health bar - when dead this means "loot it!"

I agree that sometimes 1st person mode and manual aiming is much more funny - for instance when hunting Jori I use this (or for fun hunts). But else it usually ends for me with a screen filling monster belly that I whack, and if the gfx would be better I could study its intestines while doing so ...

    Anyways, have fun!

A recent update removed the ammo use and weapon decay from these "user misses". The exception is the special affect weapons like grenade launchers that do area damage. Vehicle weapons too, those decay.

So, you can fire into the air all you want now... without worrying about extra decay.

A small extension to utilizing these tips:

    1. Wired xbox controller(wireless with the dongle),
    2. Pinnacle game profiler software.
Its pretty easy to map your own EU profile. I have another for space controls.

Its quite an easy way to hunt using these techniques. I find it very much better and easier than the keyboard personally.

Thanks for the tip. I found it really useful because I sometimes find the constant clicking sound of the mouse drives me mad (it seems to be really loud compared to others that I've used) so its nice to have a quieter method :)

On a side note, Tab and BackSpace keys are better left alone - they do not work properly if you have inventory or a container open.

Back on topic - my standard setup:
    Numpad -: next target
    Numpad *: auto-use
    Numpad +: use tool (single)
    Numpad Enter: loot
    Numpad /: show status bar
    Numpad 9: pick up

It's also often useful to have 'Operate' mapped to a button near top-middle of the desktop - some things are hard to double-click.

This is a useful idea and way of hunting if you have a lot of mobs to kill, like in iron missions, etc..

    My personal set up is:
    B: auto tool
    V: loot
    Space: select next
    Right Alt: Select Previous

For taming I also have left ctrl set up as attempt tame so it's the key furthest over on the keyboard so when you get the message that' it's ok to tame you can do it quick and spam it... Same for heal tools... they are up in ~ and backspace, etc.

Usually have to scroll through select next and select previous a few times when I'm hunting only one type of mob for whatever mission I'm on but the mobs are all mixed where my avatar is.

That way the other hand is free to use the mouse if needed for whatever... Guess it depends on if you are left or right handed, etc.

I usually use the number pad for different weapons set ups with num lock, / *- as most heavy damage weapons, 789+ as the next level of damage down, etc. with each column of the keyboard assigned to a weapon type... so far right might be guns, *963. might be whips (got 4 of em with the adjusted embra, cobra, moccassin, and viper), /8520 is axes and swords, etc.

It' nearly impossible to aim and econimaccly shoot mobs that move a ot like Arkadian hornets..id u manually aim at a hornet, you will miss often since it moves so much...
