Hi Arkadians Some of the new melee UL weapons appearing have max TT of 150Ped and 50% durability. 75Ped makes for a very short hunt when the weapon is Below Average decay. Clearly the TT isn't stupid like the Calypso UL weapons of 10000s of Peds, but at least make the broken point 3% and make the max TT at least 500-1000Ped so we can at least do reasonable hunts. Cheers Bjorn
I carry 5 philosopher swords. I guess you could do similar with Arkadian melee? Personally I think 50% min condition on UL weapons is a bit extreme and I would really like to see this reduced somewhat for all UL. I don't think this would hurt the market too much as it wouldn't change the eco calculation but players wouldn't have to tie quite so many ped up in the weapons plus it would make it easier to go for extended hunts. At the end of the day if they increase the Max TT from 150Ped to 500Ped then we can top up our Arkadian Swords and get busy. I think MA had said they were looking at making all weapons 3%. I truely hope so.
The tt is low so MA can feel like they can let them drop more. Even though it costs 25% of the tt value per key run to have a slim chance of looting them, MA feels like they need more
You miss the point. The low number of uses is on purpose. It limits the value of the item. MA cant have a melee item with a MV of 10k+ peds drop every 5-10 key instances run. Having 500 uses instead of 5000 uses makes them far less valuable while still being powerful.
As far as I remember(some interview with Dave about economics of the planet) the Ark team favor L items in general so having these ul weapons should be appreciated even tho the low uses, but then if you want high uses you have the smuggler weapons thats supposed to be the 'real' unlimited items of Ark. Just use these weapons in a situation where the low uses isn't a huge issue and you are perfectly fine. If you need a lot of uses there are other weapons that handle this too, you just need to think more then once of what to use an item for
I am not sure what this will be in Mindark time but I think they wanted to adjust that 50% usage requirement. I am looking forward to that although I fear someone will hit "repair all" and forget to remove their high tt item and drain their ped card. I am looking forward to that adjustment but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.
I personally don't get the 50% condition limit thing. What is the point of paying 150ped for an item that gets used to 75ped when you can pay 77ped for an item and use till 3% condition limit and get the same effect? Does price payed effect anything else on the item besides ped drain to buy the item? Always thought the condition limit at 50% was stupid myself.
I think at one time everyone I spoke to about it speculated it was implemented to be a PED sink with the high TT items. I think it has just carried over onto the UNL SIB items no matter the TT. I guess in a way you can look as the high TT items always having a static minimum value not subject to market fluctuations. The lower 50% TT items don't make sense to me either.
