Competition Riptor rampage (event has now ended)

That already exists, see the wiki map : Riptor Between Cobra and Taipan digsites. Its the 6 new spawns that were mentioned in the OP that arn't inhabited, at least the provider-alpha ones (since those are the ones i checked). If you want youngs or stalkers there were preexisting spawns shown on that map ^^

Hi Guys,

We are aware that the 6 Riptor event spawns did not switch on this morning. I'm awaiting feedback from MA about the issue.
I will let you guys know once the spawns go live.

Ma do things in a timely manner? MA not turn on the spawns…… no way, Surely you jest. They are so on top of things.

My question to the A-team is” Are they not contractually obligated :fineprint:to atleast try to fulfill part of their service agreement to you? I know they can screw us with the one sided agreement that we agree to when we play, but as a PP do they not have some sort of contractual obligation to release things when they say they will:shrug:. OOOOOO I know what it is they are afraid of someone exploiting the spawn places

As much as I respect the A-team of arkadia there comes a time when enough is enough. I bet they get this resolved just as soon as mayhemis over. It’s only 13 hrs since the event was to start. Another question does this affect the ones we hunt now?

Hi Guys,

The problem with the Riptor event spawns have been fixed. There was a small DB error that linked the spawns to the wrong area. This was quite a tricky one to solve as the event system said they are spawned yet no one could find them. Sorry for the long delay in tracking this error down.

So are the Highest Single Global Category items (L) or UL? I guess the event would be pretty pointless if they are (L) but I thought Arkadia UL items are called "Smuggler".

While I appreciate this event and surely will drop in for a few kills, I can't help asking my self "why ?"

Why A-Team throws a hunting event that overlaps Merry Mayhem on Calypso ? Looks like you're trying to compete with that ... sure, you'll get attendance, but definitely less that if this event would have happened after Jan 13th ...

Just my view, but at a time when most hunterz are focusing on Mayhem, wouldn't have been more logical to aim for the other 2 categories - crafters & miners ? Economic issue Arkadia has at the moment has mostly to do with crafting imho, and hunting a mostly TT loot mob ain't gonna help with that. ... my 2c

 

We have other UL weapons now, not just the Smugglers. The RAW and SIR guns are UL, plus there are RAW & SIR smugglers which are even better UL guns.

 

Of course it's meant to compete with MM. Activity on Ark has been near zero since MM started and that's bad for the economy. The two events are very different. I did one MM instance, just to see what it was like. I know I can't win anything, so why waste my time doing more? Riptor rampage gives everyone a chance to win, MM is only for the top dps players. Most of those who have the dps to win MM will burn through the 30 hours in a couple days and have plenty of time for RR too. So it only makes sense to run the two events simultaneously to keep the economies balanced.

No, as I said before, there has been almost no activity on Ark since MM started, so Ark crafters aren't able to sell their stuff. A crafting event on Ark during MM wouldn't work unless there was also a hunting event on Ark at the same time. MMers aren't buying ark weapons this year since there are better alternatives available on Caly. Plus, you have to realize, not all Ark hunters are over on Caly anyway... many of them just take the month off because they know loot returns are horrible on our planet during big caly events. Miners have it a little better because miners aren't mining as much on Caly so some ores have very good MU right now... so a mining event could make sense.

 

I am also rushing through my last instances to get back to Ark as fast as possible, still 13 to run though. I hop to be done with MM by Sunday so I can start killing Riptor next week

I am starting to see that I dont have the dps to compete for the top spots, hopefully I can still get in near the top tho

I'm averaging about 300 points per hour which is the max I can do with L gear... there are ppl clocking in 340+ points with good dps ul gear tho. Anyway off topic cya all on killing fields soon...
